Kelly resides in a quiet suburb somewhere between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. Her backyard is small but secluded. During the summer you'll find Kelly in her sunroom. The winter months, she sits in her writing room. Her two favorites places to go and write after she gets home from her other job- representing a group of nursing facilities in the WNY area. The weekends are when she really gets lost. She forgets about the dishes, laundry and the family tends to ask her the same question twice. You can usually find her peeking up from her laptop saying "what?" as she tries to pull herself away from her story and come back to the world going on around her. Her husband certainly doesn't mind the free time he has to go golfing and her teenage son, who colors her world with pride and happiness, he too is always on the run.
Writing, what other way is there to describe it- it's Kelly's conviction. After working in the human health field profession for nearly two decades, Kelly's aware of how deficient many people's daily lives are of true human connection. Through her writing she strives to reconnect readers with those all-too-rare feelings of unquenchable desire, heated passion and splendid euphoria.
Kelly has been faithfully writing for three years but did write her first book ten years ago. She put it down to raise her son as a single mom and then picked it back up when she finally found her "just right" guy. That's when she settled into her new life and started to seriously write again. She's dabbled with paranormal stories, but recently she's been on a Romantic Suspense kick. The recipe for the men in her stories: dark and mysterious, strong and confident and, of course, besides magnificent bodies, and shameless aptitudes, they must have a heart you want to rip out of the pages (or your e-Reader) and take to bed with you at night.

Senses Gone Wild
"Something sweet, like the scent of lavender and pumpkin pie, wafted to Ryker's nose. He couldn't help but inhale deeply, taking in more of the arousing aroma..." (Satisfying The Curse)
Those two sentences took me about fifteen minutes to write. As an author, you need to recognize the importance of the five senses and include them in your writings so that the reader can connect with your character and their surroundings. I researched what smells men are attracted to and, yes, that huge orange fruit, the Halloween icon, is one of those things. Though, it must be served as pie to get the full effect. The lavender, well, that didn’t surprise me. Out of respect for today's host, I'm going to do some rambling about the senses in a disorganized way because, let's face it, that's how they come to us!
Smell: Cucumber and licorice can entice a woman. We're also attracted to the smell of a sweaty man, could be why we like to wear their t-shirts to bed. Hey! I'll take any excuse for wanting to wear something dirty!
Taste: Did you know that women have about 10,000 more taste buds than a man does? We’re more sensitive to sweet, sour, salty and bitter flavors. Where men like spicy foods but those hot foods do get the heart pumping and induce sweating. I say eat away— I want my sweat-drenched t-shirt to wear to bed at night! A few cups of coffee a day will ensure a smooth blood flow. So, hopefully your man likes the taste of coffee, for I can think of one place he really needs that blood flowing! Red wine is supposed to increase a woman's libido, another excuse I'll take— I do like my wine.
Sound: Coprolalia or Erotological aka "dirty talk” these are sounds that most (both sexes) like to hear. Then there's the giggling of a woman, the deep, whiskey voice of a man. Also talked about to get the libido going were any moans and sighs. Whimpers, cries, and screams were not discussed, but I thought they needed be mentioned J
Sight: When we talk about sex and sight, the number one thing is... keep the damn lights on! You've heard of the saying... men are blind? Oh, don't let them foul you! Besides coffee, their sight is another thing that gets the blood flowing. They watch you, see you, and fantasize about you. Research shows, woman aren't blind either, they account for nearly half of the XXX video site memberships.
Touch: Knuckle brushes, finger tickles, and lip nibbles. Do it in the kitchen, bedroom, or even at the department store! Touch... touch... touch, soft and tenderly, rough and demandingly, but please do touch!
There's a quick 101 on the five senses. Got anything to add, leave me a comment. I love to learn new things, no matter how quirky they may seem. Oh! Almost forgot! Another place you can find some other senses gone wild... would be in my latest Erotic Romantic Suspense. Here's a short and sweet, but very tasty Blurb:
Satisfying The Curse
For years Juliana Pratt has ignored her fate,
but after having just one nibble of the scrumptious Agent T. Ryker,
her hungry "curse" will no longer go unnoticed— it's famished and it wants to be fed!

Juliana Pratt is cursed. Her father's warned her many times she's destined to be a wanton just like her adulteress mother. It's why he's kept her in all-girls schools, hidden away from his elite society. However, when her father's arrested for murder, he needs Juliana to come into the spotlight to portray the doting daughter. Juliana agrees to the interviews and talk shows, but before she goes on the two-week tour of lies about her father, and with him behind bars and unable to stop her, she must first take care of her starving curse.
And Juliana picks the perfect man to get the job done. She secures him to a bed, but fails terribly at finishing the task. Her thoroughly teased curse is left famished. Later, Juliana discovers that the man she'd chosen to fulfill her every fantasy is also the agent assigned to protect her for the next two weeks. Her curse becomes relentless and will stop at nothing until the delectable NESA Agent T. Ryker has satisfied its hunger.
Agent T. Ryker prides himself on his discipline-that is, until his new assignment, Juliana Pratt, puts that renowned discipline to the ultimate test. Once he discovers that Juliana is the woman who drugged and handcuffed him to the bed in his hotel room, he also finds out her true identity. Ryker agrees to satisfy Juliana's ravenous curse, but he has his own reasons for doing it, and it's not just to give Juliana's body what it craves... for there is something else Agent T. Ryker wants from Juliana Pratt...

interesting post. agree that when authors include the various senses in the story, it helps pull you into the scene & connect with the characters & thus make the story more enjoyable overall.
I think sight would be a hrad one o live without!
I can't imagine life without the ability to touch. So much can be said by touching another...I love you; I am here for you; I've missed you, etc. Hearing would be hard for me to live without, too. I love music too much.
Gee, this has be thought provoking. I really take these abilities for granted.
Thank you for a great blog post and giveaway!

Macular Degenration runs in my family and I am PETRIFIED of losing my sight!! Especially since my loving husband says he will have fun by rearranging the furniture on a regular basis...LOL!
I could part with if I had to all of my senses except for sight. I have to have that .
Thanks for a great post and giveaway! I think that I would really hate to lose my sight. I'm a big, big reader and that is my biggest fear.
I could not live without sight. I am already Severely Hard of Hearing so the lose of hearing doesn't really bother me. But I would really miss my sight. I rely so much on what I see.

I would not be able to live without sight. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would have to go with my sight as being the most important to me. My son has been seeing a girl for three years that is blind and let me tell you there are a lot of draw backs and challenges that she goes through on a daily basis as well as my son. I would never wish that on anyone.
I enjoyed the post about the senses. I couldn't live without sight.
That was such an interesting post on the senses. I think I couldn't live without sight, to me that's the most important one.
And I really need this book, the heroine's name is so close to mine, Julianne!

I don't think I could do without touch.I'm a very demonstrative person;I like to touch.
I am not sure which sense in particular but touch may be it for me....I am a touchy-feely person.

I could not deal with hearing or seeing. I have to be able to see and hear things. I would take selective hearing. Not always do I want to hear what my husband or kids are saying. I work front desk at a hotel and would be nice to hear people complaing all the time. This is a new author for me and always looking for new authors and books to check out. Thanks for the giveaway.
