Guest Post with Author Robin Bielman and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the blog debut author Robin Bielman. Robin is celebrating the release of her debut Worth the Risk and has stopped by today to chat. Before I give the floor over to Robin, lets learn a bit about her.

Robin Bielman lives in Southern California, a bike ride away from the ocean if she’s feeling really adventurous. She loves books and baking and running on the treadmill while watching her favorite TV shows. When she’s not reading or writing her next story, she’s spending time with her high school sweetheart husband and two sons, most likely watching, playing, or discussing baseball. She drives too fast, drinks too much caffeine, and if every day were Cupcake Day, she’d be a happy camper! She loves to connect with readers.

Places to find Robin:

Life lately, according to a debut author…

I’ve got a big, dopey grin on my face, like all the time. But even more so when someone tells me they’ve read my book and loved it. (And if those kind words are read while I’m on my computer, then I might maybe make some weird happy sounds that scare my dog, Harry, who’s sleeping at my feet, and quite possibly startle my family if they’re within earshot.)

I’m getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night because I’m discovering some of my best thinking is done at night. Late. At night. So all the wonderful guest blog posts and interviews that I’m so appreciative of and grateful for tend to get written closer to midnight than midday. Oh, and you know how they say write the next book(s)? I’m doing that, too!

Recent conversation with the hubby:

Me: I’ve written 10,000 words in four days. (That’s a lot for me. But when inspiration hits, you’ve got to go with it!)

Him: I wonder if I’ve even said 10,000 words in four days.

Me: Hmm. I don’t know.

Him: Someone should invent a word counter, you know like those step counters.

Me: Yeah. That’d be cool.

Him: What word do you think is said the most?

Me: I don’t know. Love? ~winks at hubby~ (I am a romance writer!)

I tweet this. Facebook that. Repeat. And I’m really funny and witty. Seriously. Okay, that’s only if you do the fortune cookie thing and add “in bed” at the end of all my tweets/what’s on my mind’s. In reality, I’m not half as cool as all the other social media savvy people out there, but hey, when you’re prone to putting your foot in your mouth as often as I am, you’ve gotta tread lightly. I so love reading about what everyone else is up to, though!

I maybe stare at my book cover and read the blurb for Worth the Risk a few times a day. It makes me happy. (Please tell me other debut authors do this too.) I often stare at other covers, too. Diane AlbertsTry Me is, uh, totally addictive. It makes me happy, too.

Barnes and Noble welcomed me for an eBook author event at my local store, and the staff and customers rocked! I had such a great time and for a shy girl like me, discovered my shell isn’t so thick after all. I’d totally do it again. And not just because I celebrated with a cupcake afterwards. What? You heard a rumor I’d do anything for a cupcake? That’s so not true. Okay, maybe a little bit true. But it depends on the anything. J

Basically, these past few weeks have been a whirlwind and I’m still learning and still pinching myself to be sure this is real. But I’m positive that books and reading cure all, so I plan to write and read for always.

What do you plan to do for always? Leave me a comment and you’ll be entered to win an eBook copy of Worth the Risk! (Open internationally.)

Thanks so much for being here with me today! And big thanks to Danielle for having me!

Their love was ancient history...until their paths crossed again.

Samantha Bennett put Dean Malloy out of her mind five years ago, when he broke her heart after a summer fling. But now he's back in her life, and ready to steal a heritage protection contract that could make or break her career--if he doesn't steal her heart first. Samantha's vowed to hate him, but it's more than anger heating the competition between them.

With sparks flying across the conference table and sizzling in every touch, Dean proposes a weekend liaison. Anything to have Sam again; anything to get her out of his system. But the unresolved feelings between them complicate both their personal and professional lives, and one wild weekend could turn into a disaster that would destroy the one job that means more to Samantha than anything. For a shot at love...is it worth the risk?

Hi Evie! Thanks so much for commenting! Reading is the best, isn't it? It's something that I think can make anyone forget their troubles. Being swept away by a story is a great feeling.

Hi Cindy! I love being around readers! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Joanne! Your sister is very lucky to have you. Best wishes to you both. I wish there were more hours in the day so I could read more! I've been known to stay up until the wee hours of the night because I can't put a book down, but then I'm so tired the next day!

Thanks so much for commenting!

Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for supporting me around the blogosphere! I think we've got a great theme going here - family and reading.

Happy reading and writing!

Hi Kelli! I really like the way you think. Every day is a gift and every day we have a choice. It's not always easy, but I try and choose to enjoy each day and stay focused on the good things, too. Thanks so much for your comment!

Hi Barbara! Oh, I love roller coasters, too. In fact, I've gotten much braver as I've gotten older, so totally ride those crazy ones. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thanks for a great post and giveaway!

I'd have to say that I plan to "always" read! and to treat people fairly, equally and honestly :)

Robin Bielman said...

Hi Marybelle! Thanks so much for being here! You've listed two things I plan to always be, too. And very often, I think reading can lead to ways to help us be better people.

Robin Bielman said...

Hi Erin! Thanks for stopping by and reading my post! I always struggle with what to say. I'm much more comfortable lurking, so your kind words mean a lot. Your comment reminds me of what I'm sure all our moms taught us - treat others the way you want to be treated. I've always tried to do that and it sounds like you do, too.

Well most people are saying read, and I agree, but to mix it up a bit, I will always plan to learn! Never too old or already too smart ;-)

Hi Nurmawati! Sometimes it's when I'm the busiest that I stop what I'm doing and just read because I need the wonderful break. Books and reading always make me happy. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Robin Bielman said...

Hi fingershankins! Oh, I hear ya! When I'm reading, I don't want to be bothered, and that's usually when my kids or hubby will want my attention. Sort of like when you're on the phone, too. :) Thanks so much for stopping by!
