Hello all! Thanks to Danielle for hosting this Valentine’s Day romp! I’m Manda Collins and I’ve decided to share (with their permission, of course) letters from the hero and heroine of my upcoming historical romantic suspense novel, A GOOD RAKE IS HARD TO FIND.

At the time these letters were written, our hero, Lord Frederick Lisle, and heroine, Miss Leonora Craven, have been broken up for six months. It was not amicable.

After Leonora broke their engagement without revealing why, Freddy left London for Paris where he has thrown himself into the social whirl there. Leonora has remained in London, where she is a celebrated poet. Neither is willing to admit how much their break-up hurts.

Check out Freddy and Lenora's love story in A Good Rake is Hard to Find.

Even in London society—where everyone knows what you did last season—you never know who’s next in line to walk down the aisle…

A DANGEROUS GAME

Heartbroken by the loss of her brother, Miss Leonora Craven vows to uncover the truth about his “accident,” which seems to have been anything but. Jonathan Craven was involved with the Lords of Anarchy, a notorious driving club, and Leonora can’t help but suspect foul play. But the only way she can infiltrate their reckless inner circle is to enlist the help of Jonny’s closest ally, Lord Frederick Lisle. If only he didn’t also happen to be the man who broke Leonora’s heart…

AN UNDENIABLE DESIRE

Frederick isn’t surprised to find gorgeous, headstrong Leonora playing detective, but he knows that the Lords of Anarchy mean business—and he has no choice but to protect her. A sham engagement to Leonora will allow Frederick to bring her into the club and along for the ride. But it isn’t long before pretending to be lovers leads to very real passion. With everything to lose, is their tempestuous affair worth the risk?

Frederick and Leonora. My what a couple they seem to be with these very concise, sarcastically cutting letters! I do believe Manda is right, that there is a lot going on beneath the surface of their relationship. A romp of a romance, I am sure! Thanks so much for the post. jdh2690@gmail.com

Oh, dear. To say there are bad feelings and hurt between these two is an understatement. Of course, if your feelings are not engaged, they can not be hurt. Will most definitely be reading their story to find out how things develop.
