Blog Tour Giveaway: Secrets of an Accidental Duchess by Jennifer Haymore

Please note that this giveaway is open to US residents only.

Check out my review for Secrets of an Accidental Duchess here

With her pale hair and slim figure, Olivia Donovan looks as fragile as fine china, and has been treated as such by her sisters ever since a childhood bout with malaria. But beneath her delicate facade, Olivia guards a bold, independent spirit and the kind of passionate desires proper young ladies must never confess...

It was a reckless wager, and one Max couldn't resist: seduce the alluring Olivia or forfeit part of his fortune. Yet the wild, soon-to-be Duke never imagined he'd fall in love with this innocent beauty. Nor could he have guessed that a dangerously unpredictable rival would set out to destroy them both. Now, Max must beat a madman at his own twisted game-or forever lose the only woman to have ever won his heart.

I am such a huge fan of Jennifer Haymore. A Hint of Wicked is up there are one of my all time favorite books.

I love historical romance because it takes you back in time. I love history and to see it or read it is fabulous. It's like an escape. And who doesn't love men in breeches?

I love reading about the fancy balls, the interesting outfits and the rules (and the flouting of said rules).

I love reading about the period rules, the outfits, the history. It's a fantasy when you need to escape from life. This book sounds really interesting. Can't wait to read it.

What I love most about reading them is the sense escapism from the present and into another world where the fashion and mannerisms are so different but very interesting. Thanks for the great giveaway!! The story sounds fantastic!!!

Historical romances take you to worlds that no longer exist, so reading about them is the only way to pretend you're there.

Historical romance takes me to places I've been and places I haven't been. The beauty of them is they take you to different eras.
The clothes, the balls, the interesting casts of characters... It's all delightful!

What I like about Historical Romances - The differences in opinions from back then to today. The obvious changes. To see how they lived with what they considered luxuries which to us would be rustic.

I love reading about the rigid confines of society, yet how society lives and breathes for scandal. And how the hero and heroine have to be very crafty and clever even with their use of words to build sexual tension and flaunt those societal rules and risk getting caught. And Lord help them if they get caught! The scandal! The horror!! Oh, how I love it! It's just so delightful and delicious :D

Thank you for the giveaway chance!

I like reading about the time period, lifestyle, and clothing.

Because of the mores in eras gone by, romances involved more verbal foreplay and banter. I happen to like that. I'm also old-fashioned to a point, I suppose. I like the anticipation of the romance as much if not more than the romance itself. Historical romances seem to have more of that anticipation and sexual tension. Etiquette of the time demands restraint, and that restraint makes for wonderful tension.

I've always loved history, and reading about times past is fascinating to me. The way people talked, dressed, acted, even the things they ate are so different than how we are today.

I love history itself, learning about people & places & events of the past. One of the thing about historical romances that I love is the elegance of the characters. I know that most people were not of the peerage, but I love reading about the Dukes, Princes, Lords, etc. Even though the living conditions were not always the best (no indoor plumbing, sewage systems, limited running water, no electricity or easy ways to store & cook foods) it seems like a romantic, dreamy time. And the balls, the manners, the various rituals/ceremonies that they have are romantic. And I really love the scandals!

Takes me back to a different time. Just how rules and decorum that was everyday life back then. It is fascinating to read how they dressed and the balls they attended.

When I read Confessions of An Improper Bride by Jennifer back in 2009 I knew that I would never want to miss any of her new releases.

So far I haven't been disappointed and she always has that one scene that catches me by surprise. I already have the novella Once Upon a Wicked Night downloaded on my Kindle but I don't want to start it until I have a copy of Confessions of An Improper Bride.

Jennifer's books should come with a warning: Not only hard to put down but even harder waiting for what's coming next!

I love reading Historical Romance books, because I enjoy being taken back in time to a place where people knew how to have fun. I love reading about their glittering balls, the beautiful clothes, the house parties and the men. This new book of Jennifer's appeals to me in that it has romance, passion, intrigue and danger.

Thanks for sponsoring this giveaway.
