I used to be fairly ambivalent about them, but I've read some really good ones and have since become a fan. I find they're one of the few things that work realistically in novellas because the connection between the cahracters is already there.

I love them! Whether it's a surprise attraction after a long friendship, or one that's been one or both sided, I think they're great.
When it comes to favorites, I don't have any that I can think of off the top of my head, but I've just recently read Shey Stahl's Racing on the Edge series which is a fantastic set of friends turning into lovers books. It follows one couple through the years and is just wonderful.

I like the friends to lovers theme. I think that friendship is a strong foundation to a romantic relationship.
I like friends to lovers stories when they're well written. I love the sexual tension and then the aha moment when they realize how they feel about each other.

I wrote a friends-to-lovers story and it was the hardest thing I've ever written. The problem was that they were perfect for each other and there was no good reason for them not to be together. Try creating conflict for two easy-going characters who totally love each other. NEVER again! LOL

I love them, probably because I lived it. I was friends with my husband first and we've been together nearly 11 years now.
I enjoy 'em - it's a good way to start a relationship & they know a lot about each other that can make the story fun.
