These letters are written while Cam Rothermere, the Duke of Sedgemoor, is away from his wife Penelope on a quest to save his friend (once enemy) the Marquess of Leath from a blackmailer, events described in my 28th April release, A SCOUNDREL BY MOONLIGHT. Cam and Pen have known each other all their lives and have taken a rocky path to happiness. Because Pen is in the late stages of pregnancy, she’s remained behind at the Rothermere family seat in Derbyshire while Cam goes adventuring outside London. Ki, what a lovely way to put it. My aim when I put them together was to take two reasonably functioning people (neither's tortured although they have their baggage) and make them better when they were together than when they were apart. I think they each learned from the other as they fell in love.

I treasure the letters my husband and I exchanged so many years ago. Though no so ardent as those above, they are still a reminder and example of how we felt about each other and our plans for the future. In a way I am glad we were half a world apart and had no other way to communicate but through letters.

Pat, you're so right. When I was clearing out the house, I came across a lot of letters I'd written my parents over the years, including the ones I sent when I lived in England for two years. Such treasures. Nobody treasures emails the same way.
