Sealed With a Kiss Event with Anne Barton

In 2011, Anne Barton won the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute shoes, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

Meet Stephen and Amelia from TO ALL THE RAKES I’VE LOVED BEFORE:

After being jilted at her own engagement ball, Miss Amelia Wimple retreated to her townhouse and consoled herself with her beloved gossip rags. She was perfectly content with her life of solitude—until the night London’s most notorious rake made a dramatic appearance on her doorstep.

Lord Stephen Brookes was in trouble. Beaten and bruised, he needed a place to stay and recover. He wouldn’t have normally sought refuge in the home of a proper young lady, but he and Amelia were old acquaintances. And it’s not as though he went to her with seduction in mind.

The odd thing is, now that he’s with her, he can think of little else…
Check out Amelia and Stephen's love story in To All the Rakes I've Loved Before

After being jilted by her former beau, Miss Amelia Wimple retreated to her Mayfair town house and her ever-growing collection of gossips rags. Now, almost two years later, not even her beloved cousins, Rose and Olivia Sherbourne, can persuade her to give love another chance. But an unexpected midnight caller may open her heart once more.

Lord Stephen Brookes is the prince of pleasure, the duke of decadence-and it seems his exploits have finally caught up with him. When Stephen comes to Amelia seeking refuge, she can’t deny him . . . or the intense desire he sparks. As he attempts to heal her broken heart, they indulge in a private passion unlike anything either has experienced. Stephen knows sweet, sensual Amelia is meant to be his one and only. Now, he will do whatever it takes to convince her that a rake really can change his ways.

Maybe a little bit of Downton Abbey and Outlander but in Regency England? No kilts or time travel, sadly, but lots of adventure, high stakes, and a big class divide to overcome. It was very fun to write. :)

Anne Barton said...

Sometimes I just take a break and read or binge watch a series. I loved Vikings, Poldark, and of course Outlander! Once I get back in a writing groove, I just want to keep going to The End. :)

Aw, thanks, Jeanne! Maybe order pizza? ;)

Oh this is so adorable! Its great to see these two again. I love lists and Amilia is just fooling herself, while Stephen's replies were smartly executed.

I pretty frequently agree with Amelia! Passion is good, but so are our passions!
