Sealed With a Kiss Event with Elizabeth Essex

Elizabeth Essex is the award-winning author of the critically acclaimed historical romance, including Reckless Brides, and her new Highland Brides series. Her books have been nominated for numerous awards, including the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence, the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award and Seal of Excellence Award, and RWA’s prestigious RITA Award. The Reckless Brides Series has also made Top-Ten lists from Romantic Times, The Romance Reviews and Affaire de Coeur Magazine, and Desert Isle Keeper status at All About Romance. Her fifth book, A BREATH OF SCANDAL, was awarded Best Historical in the Reader’s Crown 2013.

When not rereading Jane Austen, mucking about in her garden, or simply messing about with boats, Elizabeth can be always be found with her laptop, making up stories about heroes and heroines who live far more exciting lives than she.  It wasn’t always so.  Long before she ever set pen to paper, Elizabeth graduated from Hollins College with a BA in Classics and Art History, and then earned her MA in Nautical Archaeology from Texas A&M University.  While she loved the life of an underwater archaeologist, she has found her true calling writing lush, lyrical historical romance full of passion, daring and adventure.

Elizabeth lives in Texas with her husband, the indispensable Mr. Essex, and her active and exuberant family in an old house filled to the brim with books.

From the moment Lady Quince Winthrop saw the Marquess of Cairn across a ballroom, she knew she had to steal something from him—perhaps just his gleaming silver buttons. Perhaps his heart.

Little did she suspect that toying with the Marquess would lead not only to larceny, but to lessons in kissing, and lessons in loving, that she would not soon forget. But the Marquess knows how to play the long game, and how to keep his larcenous lass waiting, and wanting.

What’s a lass to do before she goes mad about the marquess? Ask the braw man to kiss her, of course.

Check out Quince and Alasdair's love story in Mad About the Marquess.

From acclaimed author Elizabeth Essex comes the first novel of the Highland Brides, a quartet of bold, brilliant lasses determined to make their own happily ever afters.

When a Lady takes to the roads to play Robin Hood~

Lady Quince Winthrop has been robbing from society’s rich and giving to Edinburgh’s poor for years. But everything changes the day she can’t resist the temptation to steal from the Marquess of Cairn.

She must be on her guard against her Sheriff of Nottingham~

Alasdair, Marquess of Cairn, has come back to Scotland to stop a thief, never thinking that the lass he’s trying to woo with lessons in kissing, is about to give him a lesson in larceny he won’t be able to forget.

From the twisted streets of Auld Reeky, to the hills of the highlands, Quince leads Alasdair a merry chase, and finds that one man she shouldn’t fall for, is the one man she can’t resist.

Hello, Demetra! And yes, I saw the post on FB, Thank you! MAD FOR THE MARQUESS is coming out as fast as I can manage: the most specific I can say at this point is late March or first week of April. I am in a second copy-edit (because I changed so much in the last copy edit I felt it was best to do it again!) And I will also be releasing a FREE novella entitled MAD FOR LOVE that will help introduce the Highland Brides series (although each book will stand alone quite well.) So patience, my darling! I'm going just as fast as I can!

Thank you, Danielle. :) Much appreciated. And I know I have kept my loyal readers WAITING for a very long time for this next book, but I promise you won't have to wait much longer. Should be out at the end of March or the beginning of April. In the meantime, best of luck in the drawing! And thanks for stopping by. Cheers, EE

Thank you, Denise. This book couple is just very flirty and open about their attraction to each other, so I wanted the letters to reflect that. :)
Best of luck in the drawing, and thanks so much for stopping by to chat. Cheers, EE

I'm so looking forward to reading "Mad About the Marquess." I enjoyed the little synopsis of your life. You are one busy lady! Thanks for the giveaway and congratulations on your successes.

Thanks, Erin! I wanted my original tag line to be: A Lass would be MAD not to accept Lessons in Kissing. :) Maybe I can still find a way to use it!
Thanks so much for stopping by to chat, and best of luck in the drawing! Cheers, EE

Unknown said...

Thanks, Janice! And thanks for visiting me over on FB, too. :)
Best of luck in the drawing, but rest assured that the introductory novella MAD FOR LOVE, which accompanies the Highland Brides series, will be out for FREE soon. Keep your eyes peeled! Cheers, EE

Cheers & thanks, Connie. I am busy, but I LOVE what I do. Writing adventurous romance is entirely satisfying, and I don't have to get cold or wet to do it! :)

Sue, you will almost ALWAYS get a feisty heroine in my books. I like them sharp and opinionated and competent. No shrinking violets from me. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by to chat this afternoon, and best of luck in the drawing! Cheers, EE

Kim, my twist on the Robin Hood fable is that my heroine is "Robin," while my hero is her Sheriff of Nottingham and her hero all in one. It's tricky and flirty and loads of fun. :)
Wishing you happy reading & best of luck in the drawing. Thanks so much for stopping by to chat. Cheers, EE

I love he calls her brat. My husband calls me that to tease me as well.

Di said...

I love that name Quince! She sounds like a lot of fun!

Unknown said...

Cbjake,

I LOVE that! I just wanted to have a very fun, flirtatious relationship between these two, and somehow, that 'brat' felt right. I am so glad to know that others, like you, use it lovingly and teasingly! :)
Wishing you the best of luck in the drawing, and thanks so much for stopping by to chat tonight! Cheers, EE

Di, I really had to work hard to name this heroine. I wanted a botanical name, because the heroine's father is a botanist, Scotland's Gardener Royal. Quince is normally a boy's name, and I even have the hero make note of that in the book, but it just fit her, and her tart, rather sassy persona. I am so glad you like it. :)
Wishing you best of luck in the drawing. Thanks for stopping by to chat this evening.
Cheers, EE

Yes she is, Glenda! And it's a chase that is going to come to a spectacularly eventful end. :) Hope you enjoy the journey!
Best of luck in the drawing, and thank you so much for stopping by this (last!) evening! Cheers, EE

Laurie,

I originally set up the whole of the series as "Lessons in Kissing" but was told I needed to make it about brides for continuity purposes. Harumph. It's still Lessons in Kissing in my mind! :) Hope you enjoy.
Best of luck in the drawing, and thank you so much for stopping by to chat. Cheers, EE

Oh, thank you so much for your support Ki Pha!!!! It is always lovely to 'see' you on the internet. I so hope that this book doesn't disappoint those of you loyal readers who have waited SO patiently for me to bring these books out!

Thank you so very much, Carol. As I said above, I am so very grateful to all the loyal readers who have waited so very patiently (or even impatiently) for me to bring these books out on my own. It has been a long learning process, but I am sure that I'm going to give you all a story worth waiting for. :)
Best of luck in the drawing & thanks for taking time out to stop by. Cheers, EE

Lori, you know you are always going to get a strong hero and an even stronger (but different) heroine in one of my stories! Hope you enjoy.
Best of luck in the drawing, and thank you so much for stopping in to chat with me! Cheers, EE

Unknown said...

Michele!!! (Waving!) Thank you so much for stopping by! And thank you also for waiting so patiently as I have worked (slowly) to bring this story (and it's companion, a free novella entitled MAD FOR LOVE) out into the world. Shouldn't be long now. :)
