My Favorite Things Event with Nina Bocci

Nina Bocci is a novelist, publicist, eternal optimist, unabashed lipgloss enthusiast, constant apologist, and a hopeless romanticist. She has too many college degrees that she’s not using and a Lego addiction that she blames on her son.

My Current Five Favorite Things

I’ve been pretty happy lately, probably because I’ve limited how much of the news I watch. I’m allowed to watch MSNBC twice a day, and no more. Otherwise my writing mojo plummets into the swirling toilet. I’m so positive today *sprays glitter*

1. My kiddo – He’s my favorite, in case you couldn’t tell by my FB, Instagram and Twitter. My mom always told me that I’d have a mini-me when I had kids and oh, boy! Was she right! I’m glad though because for as strong-willed and chatty as he is, seriously he talks so much, I wouldn’t change him for anything. Jack does wish I wrote and published more books for ten-year-olds AKA books without so much smooching.

2. My TBR – My iPad is loaded with all sorts of books right now between the Nook and iBooks apps. Nothing beats a print book for me but I’ve been trying to work out daily and me + walking on a treadmill + turning pages = a hot mess. At least with the iPad, it’s a second to swipe and not lose too much focus on my legs moving.

I’m on a deadline so I can’t read as much as I want but the list that’s waiting for me is motivating me to write until my fingers hurt. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

3. My traveling – I love, love, love my wee little town (seriously, something coming soon is set in a town based off my hometown.) That being said, I love to travel. It’s an escape. Domestically or abroad, it’s something that has always re-invigorates me and makes me want to sit down and type away. I’m grateful that most of the time, Jack comes with me and gets to experience everything right along with me. We do a lot of fandom things together too. We're big fans of Marvel (for different reasons I mean, look at my smile)

4. My friends – Local or not-so-local, I’m who I am because of my friends. There are people that I’m friends with for thirty-six years who are more family than friends. They make for the BEST character inspiration, let me tell you! The stories are . . . colorful, hilarious and find themselves in the pages of my books. #CaptainHookers

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.
