ARC Review: One Dirty Night by Pepper Winters

I am a sucker for all things circus, so when I saw that Pepper Winters was releasing a new book centered around a sexy circus, I couldn’t wait to read it! It was everything I was hoping for! One Dirty Night centers around the Spectacle of Secrets and a sexy set of roommates, looking to spend one night fulfilling fantasies they’ve kept under wraps. When the circus sets up in their town for one night, the last thing they expect is to run into each other. But what starts out as a night to scratch an itch for each of them, soon turns to more when a sexy stranger helps them uncover secret desires neither of them had ever embraced.

If you are a fan of Pepper Winters, you know that she writes in several genres. This one is on the super sexy side, and what I would classify on the erotica edge. This book features high spice, with BDSM scenes, and a MFM scene (MF after). If that isn’t your thing, this one might not be for you. I absolutely loved seeing this from Pepper and couldn’t put this book down! This one started with the heat right away, and I loved seeing how Ella and Nick explored their sexuality and the connection between them. I also really loved Hunter and his role in helping these two out.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. It contained so much heat and chemistry and was one of the spicier books I have read in quite some time! It also had a genuine connection between the characters that I loved seeing grow and change as truths and desires were discovered and embraced. I truly hope that Pepper Winters continues to write books in this world as I would love to get stories for some of the characters we met here! Giselle and Hunter would be amazing to get more of, but I also believe that this world holds so much potential and who wouldn’t fall in love with a traveling sex circus? If you like your books on the dirtier side and aren’t afraid of a little kink and heat, I highly recommend this one!

ARC Review: In Silence She Screams by Amo Jones

Midnight Mayhem and Elite Kings Club are two of my favorite series and Amo Jones is definitely an auto-buy author for me! I absolutely couldn’t wait for In Silence She Screams as this features characters from both of these amazing series. While I’ve loved everything I’ve read from Amo, this book was on a whole other level!

Not only could I not put this book down, but this one had me experiencing all the emotions! Kyrin, Eli, and Lilith were everything! I felt for each of them, and honestly they fit so well together, it was clear that these three were meant for one another. Their story is raw and gritty and full of heartbreak and tough times. I can’t even begin to put into words what all they made me feel or all the reasons they worked so well. This book left me absolutely speechless, and in need of the next book in this series immediately.

I never want to leave this world behind. As tough as it can be at times, Amo has created these characters that are so captivating and easy to become invested in that you just don’t want to leave them behind or move on. I know I will go back and read both of these series again, but In Silence She Screams is definitely one to check out and if you haven’t read either series yet, you are seriously missing out!

ARC Review: The Glue by K. Webster

The Glue is the latest Taboo story from K. Webster and honestly I loved it! I just can’t get enough of her taboo books! She always pushes the boundaries of what a lot of people might be comfortable with, and yet each story is compelling and impossible not to feel invested in. The Glue was no different, and I was hooked from page 1.

Vaughn and Vale are having some marital problems, and no matter what they try, nothing seems to work. It doesn’t help that Vaughn is attracted to a male student of his, Aiden, and can’t help but have naughty thoughts about him. Aiden also happens to be the new employee at a coffee shop, making Vale his new boss. When all of them figure out the connection they have and the attraction between them, they begin to wonder if Aiden just might be the glue that they need to not only save their marriage but to help make things stronger than ever. But will it be a long term solution, or will they all end up heartbroken in the process?

No one writes sexy books like K. Webster, especially when it comes to taboo and that was definitely the case here! I couldn’t get enough of these 3, and I was in deep right away. Not only were they all steamy together, but they also were building a connection. It didn’t feel as though anyone was left out or a third wheel, which can be common with menage books. I really felt like everyone had their place and it worked because of the three of them. I was rooting for their unconventional relationship from the start.

Overall, I loved this one and I am definitely a K. Webster fan for life. I know that a lot of her books won’t be for some readers and that is okay. But if you like to push boundaries with the stories you read and are into taboo and sexy books, I highly recommend giving her books a shot! This one has some MMF, MFM, MF and MM action, and I loved every bit of it!

ARC Review: Bedfellows by Lola Leighton

Bedfellows is the first book from Lola Leighton, the sexy alter ego of a popular romance author that wanted to write some steamier stories than what is her norm and I have to say that I couldn’t wait to see what she had in store for readers with this new pseudonym. She definitely knocked it out of the park, and I couldn’t put this one down.

Bedfellows is the story of Will and Sullivan and Adrienne. Will and Sullivan are best friends and have been looking for their perfect girl to complete their family. Adrienne is everything that they want, and yet she is also a traditional girl that has always believed in relationships being between one man and one woman. Can they convince her that they belong together as the three of them?

I loved the characters here! The friendship and family that Will and Sullivan had made was one that instantly had me invested. I thought that they were perfect for Adrienne and that they all worked so well together. Sometimes with menage stories it feels as though someone is the third wheel, but that wasn’t the case here. It really felt like each character was a puzzle piece necessary to make the entire thing work. They were sexy and sweet, and everything just clicked in every aspect of the relationship growing between them all.

Overall, I have loved this author’s work before but this new persona got off to a great start and I can see it definitely becoming a favorite of mine! The characters and story were easy to love and root for, and I didn’t want to stop reading once I had started. I definitely recommend this for fans of menage stories and I can’t wait for more sexy reads from Lola Leighton!

ARC Review: The Church by Celia Aaron

The Church is the third book in The Cloister series by Celia Aaron, and should only be read after The Maiden and The Prophet. This book is the conclusion of the series and I couldn’t wait for it after the end of The Prophet. I had to know what would happen and how things would end and I can honestly say that Celia Aaron did this series and the characters justice and I am so glad that I took a chance on her with these books. I am now a huge fan of hers and can’t wait to read more of her stories.

The Church picks up after the events of The Prophet, with Adam having destroyed himself for his feelings for Delilah. His life hangs in the balance and Delilah doesn’t know how to go on. Though Delilah is determined to get vengeance, the prophet is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that his life continues as it has been by whatever means necessary.

I have really enjoyed getting to know both Delilah and Adam from the beginning of this series through this last book. This book is full of things that could be triggers for some readers and that should be taken seriously. But as much darkness and tough subjects as there are here, this series is also filled with hope and love as well. Adam and Delilah had a unique and undeniable connection right from the start, and with everything that they went through that only strengthened. These two were put through hell, but I never lost hope that they would get to where they were meant to be or find their own HEA.

This series is one that sucked me in from the very start, and with each book I found myself unable to put them down, devouring every last word. I honestly couldn’t get enough and I wasn’t ready for the series to be over. I would love to see more of Adam’s brother and how his future progresses after everything happened. While I do think that this series is fantastic, I urge you to take the warnings serious. But if it sounds like something you can handle, these books are definitely worth reading! Adam and Delilah are characters I won’t forget and I look forward to reading more from Celia Aaron in the future.

ARC Review: The Prophet by Celia Aaron

The Prophet is the second book in The Cloister series by Celia Aaron, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it as soon as I finished The Maiden. It was everything I was hoping for and more! This series isn’t for the faint of heart, but I am absolutely loving it! I have been addicted since I started The Maiden and I am on pins and needles waiting for the final installment, The Church. These books are not standalones, so make sure that you start at the beginning and beware of warnings if you have any triggers before starting.

The Prophet picks up right where we left off at the end of The Maiden. I don’t want to go into too many details so as not to spoil anything, but Delilah continues to search got answers even as The Prophet and The Cloister become more dangerous every day. Delilah is still drawn to Adam, and she knows that while he appears to be a monster like the rest of them that there is more to him as well.

Both Adam and Delilah are unique and have a ton of layers to them, and I love discovering more about each of them as we get more of their story. They are drawn to one another in a way neither of them can explain and that both of them know they shouldn’t be, yet what they share is undeniable. I love them so much and I have felt invested in their story from the very start. We got to see so much more of Adam here and I couldn’t get enough. My heart broke for these characters and all they had been through and were going through. I can’t wait for more and to see how things turn out for them.

I will say that as big as the cliffhanger was after The Maiden, this one was bigger! I need to know what happens and I hate waiting, but I have faith that Celia Aaron will make it worth the wait. We got a ton of info here on some questions I had, yet there are so many more questions and I am really looking forward to getting more answers. While I can’t wait for more, I am also not ready for this series to be over. It is unlike anything I have read before and I highly recommend it!

ARC Review: The Maiden by Celia Aaron

The Maiden is the first book I have ever read by Celia Aaron, but as soon as I read the blurb for this series I knew I had to read it. I was drawn in right from the start and couldn’t put this book down! I am addicted, and I can’t wait for more!!

I will warn readers that this book will definitely have some triggers for some, so please proceed with caution if that could apply to you. The Maiden is the first book in the Cloister series, and it does end with a cliffhanger. I think it is definitely worth the read though, and i’m already anxious for more.

She was looking for answers when she joined the Cloister, but she had no idea just what all was hidden behind the facade they project. Now that she is in, she has been given a protector, Adam, one of the Prophet’s sons. But she soon realizes that while her protector is supposed to help guide and protect her from the evil in the world, the evil she actually needs protection from is inside The Cloister. She finds herself drawn to Adam, even though she knows she should stay away from him as much as possible. But if Adam finds out the real reason she is there, everything she has worked for could be for nothing.

I loved the dynamic between Adam and Delilah. They were both drawn to one another, though they each knew that they shouldn’t be for so many reasons. They couldn’t help what they felt for one another though, and as the more they were around each other the more they began to realize that they had no choice in the matter and that it was dangerous and could be their undoing. The chemistry between them was off the charts, and I couldn’t get enough. While I knew deep down that I shouldn’t want them to be together, I was just like them and unable to fight it as I felt like they were supposed to be together. There was something about each of them that just worked with the other, and it was as if they were always supposed to find one another.

I will say that there were some rough parts to get through, and that is where it could have some triggers for readers. There were so many things that happened with the maidens and I felt for them. I can’t even imagine being put through what they were, and it isn’t for the faint of heart. Delilah has such a strength to her that I cannot wait to see what happens next! The end of this book left me hungry for more and I cannot wait for the next in this series, The Prophet. I might have been new to Celia Aaron before this book, but I am a huge fan now and can’t wait to go back and read more from her. The Prophet and The Church can’t get here fast enough, The Maiden is a must read!

ARC Review: Confessions: Robbie By Ella Frank

Robbie is the first book in the Confessions Series by Ella Frank, but fans of her Temptation Series will recognize him as the sassy barista that wanted Logan. While this series could technically standalone from that series, this book does have quite a few references to those books and characters and I would recommend reading those books first for full enjoyment. Trust me, you won't regret reading them if you haven't already.

This book centers around Robbie, who knows that relationships are always complex. None more so than that of chef Julien and his husband Priest. But while Priest and Julien are happy and successful, they both know that something is missing, and that something is Robbie. They will stop at nothing to get him in their bed and in their lives.

I loved these three. The Prick, The Princess and The Priest definitely described them and I was so glad that we got to know each of them here with the way Ella presented their story. There are layers to each of them, and we are just scratching the surface, but I can't wait for more! Robbie has come a long way from the man he was in Try and I honestly loved seeing him still have the sass he did before, yet also seeing how he had evolved since then. Julien and Priest were so good for him, just as he was for them. These three worked well together and honestly felt like they belonged. I was a bit worried since Julien and Priest were married for awhile before Robbie entered the picture, but I didn't have any reason to after reading this book. It didn't feel as though anyone was left out or a lesser part of the relationship developing as each one had specific needs as well as a specific purpose.

Overall, I can't wait for more of these characters! They are fantastic and I loved them so much. Logan and Tate will always have a special place in my heart, but these three are right up there with them. This book was sexy and filled with hot moments like Ella is known for, but it was also more and I can't wait to see where she takes us next. I definitely recommend this one for fans of the Temptation series, and if you haven't read them yet I would suggest starting there and picking up Robbie as well. Once you enter this world Ella has created, you won't want to leave!

ARC Review: War of Hearts by Julia Sykes

War of Hearts was my first book by Julia Sykes and even though it was said to be a standalone, I would disagree. I found out after reading that there was a prequel called Battle For Love which I hadn't read and it might have helped me from feeling as though I was thrown into a story already in progress. That was a big problem for me here and unfortunately the story just didn't recover for me.

I felt like the blurb was misleading here and the story definitely didn't go as I expected it to. It was supposed to be a mafia story with darkness and danger, yet it didn't feel like one at all to me. Having read and enjoyed plenty mafia romances over the years, this one just didn't hold up. It is a menage and while the sex between the characters was hot, I feel like that was all there was here. It was primarily sex scenes with very little story or character development in between.

If you are just looking for something erotic and full of sex, you might enjoy this one. I wanted more story though and I there were a few other things that didn't quite work for me. Besides feeling as though I had missed part of the story here, when it came to Joseph and Marco things didn't feel quite right to me. It felt off and as though things were forced and not genuine when it came to them and their relationship with Ashlyn together.

While this story had a lot of promise, for me it just didn't work. I had hoped for more with the blurb and sexy cover, but in the end it wasn't what I had been expecting. I am not sure that I would read more from Julia Sykes after this, even though at this point I am a bit curious to see if reading the prequel would have helped at all here. If you are just looking for a sexy menage filled with sex, you might give this one a go after reading the prequel.

Review: Mine, Forever by Kate Bonham

Mine, Forever is the first book that I have ever read from Kate Bonham, so I had no idea what to expect. I was given the opportunity to read this as a part of Quirky Blind Date with a Book, and this book is the reason that I love QBDWAB so much! I never would have experienced this author or book had it not been for Quirky. While this isn't what I typically read, the story was really interesting to me and I am glad I took the chance on this author.

I don't really want to get into the story too much because I really think this book is one best read blind. Don't go in with any spoilers or preconceived notions because Kate Bonham will surprise you here. When Jett and Ebony meet, their attraction and connection is immediate and strong. Their world has them doing whatever it takes to get what they want, nevermind the consequences.

This book was dark and gritty, and might best be described as intense. It will have you questioning so much, and yet you won't want to put it down. I really don't feel as though I have the right words to describe this without giving too much away. It was definitely twisted and I couldn't predict what would happen or how things would go. If you are looking for something different, you might give this one a shot. It definitely isn't for the faint of heart, but if you like dark reads this one is worth taking the chance on. Kate Bonham's writing style was captivating, and I would definitely read more from her in the future.
