Guest Post with Author Charles Sheehan-Miles and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the blog author Charles Sheehan-Miles. Charles is celebrating the recent release of his book Just Remember to Breathe and has stopped by to chat. So please give Charles a warm welcome.

I’m a forty-ish writer of several novels including Republic, Insurgent, Prayer at Rumayla and Just Remember to Breathe. I’ve got a few short stories and two non-fiction books out there as well.

My background: I spent some time traveling the Middle East on my own in the late nineteen eighties, then went back courtesy of the United States Army as a tank crewman during the 1991 Gulf War. After that I spent most of the next two decades pursuing dual careers: nonprofit activist and information technology professional. Eventually the two combined: from 2003 until 2009 I was completely in the nonprofit sector, served as executive director of two nonprofits and director of IT of a third.

Unfortunately, when the 2008 economic crash hit, it took my career with it. For several years I had to retool, and managed restaurants in the Atlanta area. Recently I found my way back into my chosen career: I work in veterans outreach and public affairs for a law firm which represents disabled veterans. In my free time I write books, this blog, play with the kids, and generally try to make it through life doing as much good as possible.

ARC Review: Wolfishly Yours by Lydia Dare

This was yet another great book by the writing duo known as Lydia Dare. This was a cute and charming read and it definitely made me anxious to get my hands on the next book in this series. I love the humor that is infused throughout the book. It doesn't feel phony or over the top as some books with humor in them tend to feel. It feels true to the characters and the world that Lydia Dare has created.

With this installment in the Westfield Wolves we are treated to the HEA of Grayson Hadley and Liviana Mayeux. These two were great together and I love the chemistry between them. Right off the bat you can sense the attraction between them yet both try to deny it and their feelings.

Liviana has recently been shipped off to England to live with the grandfather she has never met. All she wants to do is return home to her father and brothers back in Louisiana. England is just too uptight, boring and cold. She wants no part of it, nor her grandfathers quest to turn her into a proper lady and to find her a husband. She can find herself her own husband back in Louisiana where she can be herself.

As soon as Grayson lays eyes on Liviana all bets are off. He's hooked and everyone can see it. Well everyone but himself and Liviana. Grayson wants no parts of being leg shackled but there is just something about Liviana that draws him in and he just can't seem to resist her charms. He knows that he's no good and that she deserves better, but he just can't seem to stay away from her.

I loved these two together. Grayson is so lovable and such a bumbling dolt whenever he gets around Liviana.  It was just so cute. Both were made for each other and I just loved watching these two realize their true feelings for one another.

This book definitely has me itching to get my hands on the next book. I am dying for Archer's story.

ARC Review: Tempting the Player by J. Lynn

This was yet another enjoyable book by J. Lynn and I am seriously loving her Gamble Brother series. Oh my goodness by Chad Gamble is one sexy man and I really enjoyed his story. I thought that him and Bridget were great together and were definitely HOT!

Chad Gamble is known as a player both on the field and off. He likes to have a good time and is constant fodder for the tabloids. When Chad first lays eyes on Bridget he's instantly attracted. She's tall, curvy and damn sexy and Chad definitely wants to get to know her better so he quickly makes his move. There is an instant connection between the two and things get hot and heavy rather quickly. But once the sexual high wears off Bridget realizes that she's just another notch in his bedpost. It doesn't help that while Chad is in the other room he gets a text from one of his usual hookups who also happens to be a supermodel. Bridget quickly leaves without Chad knowing and doesn't speak of the encounter with anyone, especially not her friend Maddie who just happens to be dating Chad's brother Chase.

A month later while out to lunch with both Maddie and Chase things come to a head when Chad shows up. The is a connection between the two that everyone can see even though Bridget continuously tells Chad she's not attracted to him. Chad knows that she is lying. He can feel the chemistry between them and knows that Bridget wants him just as much as he wants her. So he decides to show her by kissing her and in the process of teaching Bridget a lesson both are caught in a compromising photo by the paparazzi. Chad's bosses tired of his playboy image issue him an ultimatum, he must clean up his playboy rep or loose his contract with the team. With the help of his overbearing publicist Chad must convince his bosses along with the public that he's a changed man, and to do this his publicist believes he needs a steady girlfriend. So his publicist convinces him to enter into a fake relationship with Bridget for one month. The only problem is convincing Bridget to play along.

Bridget wants no part of being in a fake relationship with Chad. It's wrong and her heart just couldn't take it. But regardless of her feelings on the matter, Chad's publicist blackmails Bridget unbeknownst to him. Bridget knows that it's only a month but the chemistry and attraction between them is so undeniable and she knows that if she gives into the temptation of sleeping with him she won't be able to walk away unscathed.

I loved the chemistry and the relationship between Chad and Bridget. They both have such a strong attraction to one another and the sparks between them are explosive. The chemistry between the two is HOT and some of the scenes between them will definitely leave you blushing. But besides the hot chemistry between the two I enjoy the romance between them both. They are both able to heal from their pasts and grow. Plus Chad is a really sweet man at heart and it was fun to see him like that.

As I said before, this is yet another great book from J. Lynn and I definitely can't wait to get my hands on Chandler's book. I just know it's going to be a good one.

ARC Review: Seducing Mr. Knightly by Maya Rodale

There aren't enough words to express just how much I LOVED this book. When I read Seducing Mr. Knightly I was in a reading slump and it quickly pulled me out and has definitely made my list of favorite books for 2012. This book was superb and it just reminds me why I love Maya Rodale's work so much. I couldn't seem stop myself once I started reading this book. It was just so consuming and just so very good.

Annabelle works as a advice columnist at The London Weekly and has been in love with the owner/editor in chief Derek Knightly for the past four years. Determined to finally gain his attention, she writes to her readers asking for their advice on how to attract his attention. With all of the suggestions pouring in, Annabelle quickly begins to take action. From wearing more enticing gowns with lower bodices to pretending to faint into his arms, Annabelle is willing to try anything to get Derek's attention.

Derek has never really noticed Annabelle outside of the fact that she was one of his infamous lady writers. But for someone reason lately she's been starting to stand out and he can't seem to get her off of his mind. When it's brought to his attention that Annabelle has sought out help from her readers to gain the attentions of a certain "nodcock" he can't help but wonder who exactly she is pursuing and why does the thought of her with another man seem to make him jealous?

I loved, loved, loved these two together. I found the build up to their relationship to be sweet. Annabelle has been in love with Derek for what seems like forever and I loved that everyone knows but him. I liked that their relationship wasn't rushed and we were able to see the growth between them.

I liked that this book had quite a lot of humor in it. Some of the scenes with Derek and Annabelle are really quite hilarious and I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. Both characters were fun to read and I loved getting to know them both. Both Annabelle and Derek were such a great match and I really enjoyed their HEA.

Like I said before, this book is definitely one of my favorites of the year and I definitely can't wait to read more from Mrs. Rodale. I just love the way she is able to mix humor in her books while still making it feel sexy and romantic.

Interview with Author Eliza Daly and Giveaway

Today I am happy to welcome to RFTC author Eliza Daly. Eliza is celebrating the recent release of her debut book Under Her Spell and has stopped by to answer a few questions. Please give Eliza a warm welcome.

Eliza Daly’s first attempt at creative writing was in fourth grade. She and her friends were huge Charlie’s Angels fans and she would sit in her bedroom at night writing scripts for them to act out at recess the following day. She was Kelly Garrett. Fast forward to the present, she’s still writing stories about beautiful women who always get their men. The journey from fourth grade script writer to published author wasn’t an easy one, but it was always an adventure and the final destination was well worth it.

When Eliza isn’t traveling for her job as an event planner, or tracing her ancestry roots through Ireland, she’s at home in Milwaukee working on her next novel, bouncing ideas off her husband Mark, and her cats Quigley and Frankie.

Interview with Author Tory Michaels and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome author Tory Michaels to RFTC . Tory has stopped by to answer some questions and to share some info on her Dream Walker War series. So please give Tory a warm welcome.

Originally from the Sacramento Valley, Tory packed up and moved all the way to Southwest Florida in 2004 with her husband (a Florida native) under the premise that ‘hurricanes almost never hit that part of the state.’ That year, 4 blasted the area. 4 more came the following year, and her husband blames her for bringing the hurricanes. She now resides in Jacksonville and is relieved that, thus far, no more hurricanes have followed her around.

She began writing in kindergarten when a turnip wished to be human and, other than a hiatus shortly after getting married, has never stopped. Her love of vampires began somewhere in junior high, and combining the two loves didn’t take long. She loves music, considers herself a ‘book slut’ whose reading habits would break her family financially if given free reign, and is (usually) delighted to be a mommy of twin Shrimpettes and a Shrimp.
