Born in Denmark, Sophie has spent her youth traveling with her parents to wonderful places all around the world. She’s lived in five different countries, on three different continents, and speaks Danish, English, French, Spanish and Romanian.
She has studied design in Paris and New York and has a bachelor’s degree from Parson’s School of design, but most impressive of all – she’s been married to the same man three times, in three different countries and in three different dresses.
While living in Africa, Sophie turned to her lifelong passion – writing.
When she’s not busy, dreaming up her next romance novel, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, cooking, gardening, watching romantic comedies and, of course, reading. She currently lives on the East Coast.
Places to find Sophie:
Deciding on whom to pick for my all-time favorite book boyfriend was so much harder than I expected. As I started looking back at all the books I’ve read, picking out my favorites from the bookshelf and reading the blurbs to refresh my mind, I found it almost impossible to make a decision since there are so many great heroes. Eventually, I narrowed it down to two though: Viscount Turner from The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever and Colin Bridgerton from Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. I then re-read both books just to be sure who the lucky winner should be, which of course was a wonderful experience in itself. But, I have now decided that when it comes to fictional characters, my heart belongs to Colin =) His love for Penelope and the way in which he stands up for her and tries to show the world how wonderful she is…well, I must have sighed a million times =) And he’s not afraid of the love he suddenly feels for her either like so many other heroes. On the contrary, he embraces it. It’s not something that happened suddenly for him, but gradually, and when it does, nothing can stop him from professing it to the world. It’s all very romantic!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I’ll be popping in throughout the day to chat with you and to answer any questions you might have.
Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for... well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret... and fears she doesn't know him at all.
Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of everyone's preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph.
But when Colin returns to London from a trip aboard, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same, especially Penelope Featherington, the girl haunting his dreams!
And when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide... is she his biggest threat, or his promise of a happy ending?

ReplyDeleteYay right back at you =D!!!
DeleteHi Sophie! I'm in awe of your linguistic skills. What fun to get to wear 3 different wedding gowns. Sounds like an interesting storyline for a new book :p
ReplyDeleteLOL - thanks, Linda! Yes, 3 wedding gowns is definitely something I can recommend =)
DeleteI love Julie Quinn books! And of course her Heroes. Your next book looks amazing should I say. I'm tempted to take that mask off the Hero's handsome face; I know it's handsome even from the teasing side view. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Kipha, Anthony Hurst is bound to steal a few reader hearts along the way - he certainly stole mine as I was writing him, but alas he has eyes only for Isabella...sigh =)
DeleteI so agree with your choice of Colin Bridgerton! All other book boyfriends always get compared to him. :) Thanks for having a giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! And thank you for commenting - I always love hearing what others have to say =) Have a great day!
DeleteWhat a great choice you made! :) I love all the Bridgertons too. Roarke from In Death series is my ultimate book boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheri! My only hesitation about Colin was that I was afraid everyone would already have the book, but in the end I just couldn't help myself - he is my favorite hero
DeleteI have to check into Colin, he sounds dreamy. I enjoyed the post, thanks
ReplyDeleteYes, you absolutely must, Sheryl! And if you haven't read the other Bridgerton books, I highly recommend that you do =)
DeleteSounds and looks like a very interesting read.
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
DeleteHmm.. I've never read these. I've heard a lot of about Julia Quinn but I have yet to read her! I'm sure I will eventually. My book boyfriend is definitely Jamie Fraser from Outlander.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
mestith at gmail dot com
Her books are hilarious! She writes brilliant dialogue so if you like your romances to have a sense of humor to them, definitely give her a try - the Bridgertons are the best place to start!
DeleteThanks for the post! My daughter is actually the historical fan of the family so I will forward to her. I think she will love this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! I hope your daughter has a chance to stop by =)
DeleteI have never read any of these books and they look great! I just got into historical romances pretty recently, so these would be wonderful to win! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Casey. Being a huge fan of historical romance myself, it's always great to hear about new fans of the genre - welcome to the club =)
DeleteWhat a lot of lovely comments I found waiting for me this morning - than you so much everyone, and a BIG thank you to Dani as well for inviting me to visit - it's always such fun hanging out on your blog =)
ReplyDeleteI've never read any books by Julia Quinn but have heard nothing but great things about them. Can't wait to pick a couple up and start. I love historical romance. Thanks for the great guest post and giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure you'll love them, and the Bridgerton Series is such a wonderful place to start! ROMANCING MR. BRIDGERTON was the book that urged me to write Regency romance =)
DeleteI'm a big Sophie fan!!!! Love her books :) I'm haven't ready any of Julia Quinn's books... I think I was intimidated by the size of the series! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erin!!! If you like my books you'll enjoy Julia's as well. She writes really fun dialogue. And don't worry about the size of the series - once you start, you'll breeze right through it =)
DeleteOoh, good choices. I think when it comes to JQ heroes Colin and Turner are my favourites too, but I think Turner wins for me! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a very difficult decision, but a choice had to be made =) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI have never read any of Sophie's books but am ready to start! Hoping to win! thanks!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll enjoy them, Michele =)
DeleteYour biography sounds like a romance novel! Great cover too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary!
DeleteI love historical romances. Most of the time I have to say my book boyfriend is the hero of the book I'm currently reading. That said, I do have a crush on the Earl of Glencrae, the hero of the 3rd Cynster Girls trilogy written by Stephanie Laurens. This particular hero was actually thought to be the villain in all three books (and in part, he was) but he really ended up being the hero in the 3rd book. I love how SL writes her heroes...they are to die for!
ReplyDeleteStephanie Laurens is a wonderful author as well, Karen - completely agree with you there =)
DeleteI am in awe of your linguistic prowess. I do well to stutter out hello in my native tongue. Add to that the ability to actually write a full length novel and you are very close to Nobel prize status. *grins* I love the Cinderella tones to your story.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks, Sebella! Cinderella was one of my favorite fairy tales growing up so I had to try and tackle the story in my own way =)
DeleteHi Sophie! I have never read Julia's Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, but I have read The Secret Diaries of Miranda Cheever & agree that he is a great hero. Any of her books have book boyfriend potential.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharlene! I agree, which is why I found it so difficult to choose, but in the end, love came easier to Collin and there was just something about that that appealed to me =)
DeleteYou picked Julia Quinn books. My favorite is her first book Splendid. In love Alex and Emma. He crush. He's a Duke and thinks and acts like one but Emma is an American and is not in awe of him. Then both families plot to get them together. I'm waiting for your new book. I have read all of Sophies book.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Splendid, but now you have me intrigued - sounds like a fun plot line! Thanks for posting, Rhonda!
DeleteI think I prefer The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever. There was humor and pathos all in one book.
ReplyDeleteVery true. I loved that book as well.
DeleteColin Bridgerton is my favorite book boyfriend! So glad others agree! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, there are many out there who agree, Marla! You're not alone =)
DeleteI love historical romance..so awesomegiveaway!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it!
DeleteI LOVE hystericals - er - um - HISTORICALS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
DeleteThis book sounds amazing! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Cassie!
DeleteI have only started reading historical romance books in the past year and am always surprised at how much I like them even though my two fav genres are contemporary and romantic suspense. It all comes down to the same thing, though - a good story no matter when it took place! Thanks for letting me know about more books to add to my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Amy + any book that can make me laugh is worth having on the shelf so JQ is right up there =)
DeleteIt sounds like you picked a wonderful book boyfriend Sophie, I haven't quite read all of the Bridgerton books and now I know what I'm missing. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a definite must. I adored this one and as I've mentioned before, it's the book that kick started my career so it will always be close to my heart.
DeleteOh my goodness, I love the cover of your new book cannot stop staring! kind of reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Best!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks for book boyfriends, I heard Julia Quinn books were amazing especially that series. I have book one! Bought it not too long ago and hope to crack it open soon :)
Thanks, Lily - I have the same staring problem, going on two months now since the cover was first revealed to me =) And it's perfect for the story so I really couldn't be happier.
DeleteNow stop looking at my cover and get on with that Bridgerton book =) You'll love it!!!
Out of the five countries that you lived which was your favorite?
ReplyDeleteI miss Spain a lot since that's where I grew up. I think childhood homes always hold great sentimental value for us because it's where we spent our formative years. I miss the house there, nestled in the mountains and overlooking the Mediterranean, but I have been to many wonderful places since where other wonderful memories have been made along the way - I love traveling!
DeleteThese sound great adding them to my must have list .Hope you have a wonderful week
ReplyDeleteThank you, Wanda - same to you!!!
DeleteThere are so many great book boyfriends out there, but I haven't read either of your suggestions. Romancing Mister Bridgerton sounds great!
ReplyDeleteYou really must try it - JQ is a wonderful author
DeleteThe Beautiful Bridgertons! They're a great series and many authors seem to love one of them. It's a great choice. Great minds think alike and all. :)
ReplyDeleteThey sure do =)
DeleteSo many historical romances I want to read. Thank you for writing them! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Maria - just trying to keep up with my own creative mind...so many unwritten stories in there =)
DeleteYou are so right to choose Colin, although any of the Bridgerton Boys would have been a great choice! Now I want to read that book again :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed re-reading it myself, so I say go for it!
DeleteI haven't read any Historical romances so this would be a good time to win and read....
ReplyDeleteOhhh...do we have a new historical romance fan in the making? It's a lovely genre which I'm sure you'll enjoy, not to mention that there are always other elements like adventure or intrigue...murder mysteries or just characters going against rules of Society, depending on which author you pick - I think there's something for everyone amidst all the romance =)
DeleteI haven't read many historicals but the trouble with being a duke has definitely caught my interest!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I hope you'll enjoy reading it =)
DeleteI have heard many great things about Julia Quinn but have yet to read one of her books. I know I should be ashamed of myself!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the cover of your book The Trouble With Being a Duke. The gown is gorgeous!
Thank you - I'm quite in love with the cover myself! And don't be ashamed - be happy that there's such a wonderful author out there with a long list of books just waiting for you to read. I love that feeling!
DeleteMost impressed by your language skills. Have you written in a language other then English I wonder?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. So far I've only written in English and have no plans to write in other languages though I do hope foreign language agents will pick up my books for translation one day - that would be pretty cool!
DeleteThanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have not read anything by Julia Quinn yet but I hope to soon!
Hi Natasha - thanks for commenting! If you enjoy your historicals to be spiced with humor and witty dialogue you'll enjoy JQ - her books are a treat!
Deletemore books to add to my TBR - really interesting choices that I'm paying attention to since they have made it to the top of the lists.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy them, Kimberly!
DeleteHi, Sophie! How romantic to be married to the same man 3 times in 3 different countries. Your books sound good. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Cathy, and yes, it was pretty romantic - going on 11 yrs now =)
DeleteI love your books Sophie! I love to travel as much as you do!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen - there's nothing better than hearing that my books were enjoyed =) Traveling is wonderful!
DeleteYour book sounds great! :) I love Colin too... I laughed so much reading that book...
ReplyDeleteThere's something about a story about a Duke! These look like great fun!
ReplyDeleteI think it is amazing how much you have traveled and that you speak so many different languages. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteI love Charles from the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs.
ReplyDeletemythic021@gmail.com
Sounds like a great book.
ReplyDeleteI do like Julia Quinn's books! But have not gotten to that one sadly. I think I must after your recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to add both these books to my library! GREAT giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI adore historical romances and these authors are both great.
ReplyDeleteBoth books sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these books and for offering the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,
