ARC Review: The Last Guy by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise

I couldn't wait to read The Last Guy by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. I have really enjoyed books from each of these authors writing solo, so I figured they would make a great writing team as well and I was not wrong. I enjoyed this book from start to finish, reading it in only one sitting. It was a solid story that was well written, and Ilsa and Tia's writing styles meshed seamlessly.

Rebecca Fieldstone has been working for years to take her reporting career to the next level by getting the weekend anchor position. The last thing she has time for is the former NFL star Cade Hill recently turned sports director and his arrogant attitude. But she also can't stop thinking about him and how sexy he is. Cade isn't interested in an office romance, but when a steamy night between them turns out to be the hottest sex of their lives, both Cade and Rebecca find it impossible to ignore what is happening between them. Though Rebecca is determined to remain just friends, Cade will stop at nothing to show her that he is the guy for her. 

I really liked both Cade and Rebecca. I felt the chemistry between them right away, and I couldn't get enough of their banter. I loved seeing them circle around one another and come to terms with the attraction between them and their growing feelings. These two had a great connection that surprised both of them, and I really enjoyed seeing them get to know one another and not just make assumptions about who the other was. Cade and Rebecca were hot together and I also loved the dirty talk. These two just clicked on every level, and they were so great for one another. 

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot. My only complaint here is that things were pretty predictable and at times it felt like there wasn't really anything new being offered here. I still really enjoyed the story though and had a great time reading it. Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise are talented writers on their own, and together they made a great team. I would definitely read more from them in the future. If you are looking for a fun and sexy office romance, this story is definitely worth checking out!

ARC Review: Lover by Marni Mann and Gia Riley

I absolutely loved this book! The minute this one downloaded to my Kindle I started reading and was immediately hooked. There are a lot of books that once I start reading I don't want to put down, but with Lover it was impossible for me to put it down. I read it in one sitting and absolutely devoured every single word of this story both anxious and dreading getting to the end. Gia Riley and Marni Mann had me completely captivated with West and Piper and I never wanted this book to end. 

Piper's marriage hasn't been the same for awhile, and she is lost trying to figure out what to do to get her and Cannon back on the same page. When she stumbles on a forum that introduces the idea of swinging, she begins to think that might be what could save them. As Piper and Cannon meet a couple and venture into new territory, they begin to realize that they had drifted apart more than they thought and the people 7:they are now is no longer who they had married. Soon they are each finding their desires fulfilled by another in a way they never had with each other, but what happens when Piper starts to feel more for West? 

First let me tell you that this book was HOT! West was super sexy and I couldn't get enough of him! West and Tilly's marriage had been more about sex than anything else, and it was clear they clicked on that level. However with Piper, West had a connection and these two were clearly more right from the start. They felt perfect for each other in every way, and that just grew stronger as the story continued. Piper loved Cannon, but no matter what she tried she knew there was a lot he wasn't telling her. I felt so bad for her and how she struggled because of that doubt and the insecurities that seemed to be reinforced as Cannon continued to not let her in. West was the exact opposite, and was what she truly needed! He built up her confidence and showed her that she was desirable and worth so much more. I loved these two for one another and they clicked on absolutely every level! 

I will say that while I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it, that it won't be for everyone. This is one book that needs to be gone into with an open mind. Both West and Piper are married to other people and while the swinging is agreed upon by all parties, you do see sex between West and Tilly as well as West and Piper, and the same happens with Cannon and Tilly as well as Cannon and Piper. It continues throughout the story, and I know that some will have some problems with that. For me, I knew what this book was going in and I was able to appreciate it for the story being told. As steamy and hot as this story is, it is about so much more and is one that to me is an absolute must read. This is a love story at it's core and I think it is definitely worth taking the chance on even if it is a bit out of your comfort zone. I honestly can't wait to go back and read this again, and I really can't wait to see what these two write in the future. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more books from them!

ARC Review: The Clover Chapel by Devney Perry

I have been hearing great things about Devney Perry's writing, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on The Clover Chapel. While this is the second book in her Jamison Valley series, each book is a standalone story with interconnected characters. I hadn't read The Coppersmith Farmhouse before reading The Clover Chapel, but the first thing I did after finishing The Clover Chapel was go and buy The Coppersmith Farmhouse. Seriously this book was that good! I am a little late to the party with Devney Perry, but I was blown away with this book and I can't wait to get more in this beautiful world she has created! 

 Nick and Emmy met and fell in love one night in Vegas, but the next morning Nick left Emmy behind and they went nine years without contact. Nick had his reasons for leaving Emmy, though it broke both of their hearts. Now nine years later, Emmy is ready to start living her life for herself and makes the decision to leave New York behind for a quiet life in Montana where she will be a teacher, the job she has always wanted despite the fact that her father has never approved. The one thing she didn't plan on though was coming face to face with the man that broke her heart and that she has never been able to get over. Nick knows that this is his second chance with Emmy, and he won't make the mistake of letting her go again. But can he show her that he is worth taking another chance on, and can he keep her safe when a threat from his past threatens the future they might possibly have together?

I absolutely loved these two. Nick and Emmy's love happened super fast. They spent a single night together and that was it for them. It was so real and genuine though, and I had absolutely no trouble believing that their love was the kind that is once in a lifetime. I hated the heartache that they each experienced with Nick's decision to leave, but I did see what he was trying to do when he left her. I didn't like it at all, and I wish he would have talked to Emmy but I was just so glad that they had another chance. I loved that Emmy left everything behind to do what she was passionate about. She wasn't afraid to do what she loved and she was so kind and caring. Nick and Emmy just fit together, and it was clear that the love between them was what was important and with the time and circumstances that could have kept them apart it hadn't diminished. These two had so much chemistry and the attraction was obvious, but their connection was true and rare and I couldn't get enough. 

Once I started this book, I just couldn't put it down and I loved every bit of it. The romance was sweet and heartwarming, even though it took some heartbreaking moments to get there. The plot had enough suspense and twists to keep the reader interested and on the edge of their seat. The cast of characters was rich and likable, with each one of them having a purpose. I loved seeing the progress that so many of them made over the course of this book, and I just can't say enough good things about this story. The Clover Chapel was fantastic, and if you are a fan of contemporary romance, this is definitely a book that I recommend you read. I was new to Devney Perry before this story, but she will be one that I look forward to from here on out.
