Please give a warm welcome to author Jennifer Seasons who has stopped by to chat about her newest release, Playing the Field.

Jennifer Seasons is a Colorado transplant. She lives with her husband and four children along the Front Range, where she enjoys breathtaking views of the mighty Rocky Mountains every day. 6 REASONS WHY I WRITE ROMANCE
  1. I believe in the power of happy ever after.
  2. I know that when someone reads my story that at least for a few moments in time I’m taking them away from their cares and stresses. That alone is priceless.
  3. Romantic relationships are tough. Writing about people finding their way through the static to each other is incredibly rewarding. I feel like, if they can do it, we can do it.
  4. Writing about the beginnings of love reminds me to look at my husband without the filter. You know, that filter that gets all gummed up with crap like financial stress, children issues, home mortgage, car breaking down, the dog barfing, the plumbing going wonky, the water heater busting. . . the list goes on. You all get it. Writing romances takes me out of that and helps me remember what connected us in the first place. It brings me back to that place of simplicity where all that exists is love for my man.
  5. I write romance because I believe that no matter who you are there’s someone for everyone. Even if you’re not perfect (who is?). That’s why all of my characters are openly flawed and make mistakes. Perfection doesn’t exist in reality and neither do perfect people. But they still deserve perfect love. In my stories I can give that to them, and in doing so provide hope for the rest of us mere flawed human beings. How awesome is that?
  6. Writing romance is like falling in love all over again. Every single time.

Single mother Sonny Miller has spent years avoiding love. A rotten childhood and an even rottener ex-boyfriend left her determined to protect her son—and herself—against the risks of romance. That is, until hotshot ballplayer JP Trudeau swaggers into her carefully constructed life, all sin-with-me eyes and irresistible grin. Sonny can't help but feel drawn to the sexy, confident man, even as every fiber of her being tells her to keep running the bases . . .

JP is known for being fast on his feet, not fast with his heart. But meeting Sonny and her boy sparks something in him—something he's never felt before, not from all the cleat-chasers in the major leagues. Sonny may be hell-bent on keeping him at arm's length no matter what, but this rookie has a plan. To get the girl, he must step up to the plate and convince her to take another chance on love . . . before this game gets rained out.
