Shana Galen is the bestselling author of fast-paced adventurous Regency historicals, including the RT Reviewers’ Choice The Making of a Gentleman. Booklist says “Galen expertly entwines espionage-flavored intrigue with sizzling passion,” and RT Bookreviews calls her “a grand mistress of the action/adventure subgenre.” She taught English at the middle and high school level off and on for eleven years. Most of those years were spent working in Houston's inner city. Now she writes full time. She’s happily married and has a daughter who is most definitely a romance heroine in the making.
Places to find Shana:
Andrew Booth-Payne is the Earl of Darlington and the Darling of the Ton. He’s been pining after the renowned courtesan, Juliette (otherwise known as the Duchess of Dalliance) since they first met, but she’s never shown the slightest interest in him.
In the meantime, Juliette’s friend and fellow courtesan, Lily Dawson (the Countess of Charm) has been madly in love with Andrew and just waiting for him to notice her.
When Juliette unexpectedly falls in love with and married the Duke of Pelham, Andrew over-imbibes and writes a letter and poem he rather wishes he could forget.
But the letter and poem are not delivered to Juliette. They are intercepted by Lily.
Check out Andrew and Lily's love story in Sapphire's Are an Earl's Best Friend
What better disguise for a secret agent than that of a courtesan?
Lily Dawson, dubbed the Countess of Charm, is a spy working for the Crown to uncover a traitor.
Andrew Booth-Payne, Earl of Darlington, wants to hate Lily for taking up with his father, but something about Lily intrigues him.
When he discovers there is more to her flirtation than greed, he knows he must help her uncover a traitor. Even if that traitor is his own father…

ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting me, RFTC!
ReplyDeleteLove having you come by. Thanks for sharing these great letters. =)
Deleteyou cannot walk past your covers without picking them up and giving them a new home. :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't want them to be orphans, Barbara!
DeleteWhat I like the most about Shana's writing is that she sticks to the mores of the era. It never feels like 21st century characters plopped into a historical setting just because it looks good. I just adore her Lord and Lady Spy series. I find it a bit amusing that she has chosen gems for her book titles, because her books really are gems.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I do try to stick to the "rules" of the period.
DeleteAlready pre-ordered (on 1/6/14) and can't wait for release date!! Love your books, Shana.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOde to a Diamond is awesome!

DeleteI love your books!! The fertility of an authors mind never ceases to amaze me!!
ReplyDeleteNecessity is the mother of invention, Betty!
DeleteI"m like so excited for this book! Lily has been so secretive about her life and then bam she used her skills in finding Fallon if I'm correct from book 2. That just made me want to know her more. Can't wait for it's release. And Darlington...he needs to forget this infatuation with Juliette
ReplyDeleteHe grows up, Sandy. he might need a little prodding :-)

DeleteAlways love your books Shana... And your Heroes and Heroines are always so charming, sassy and intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathleen! That's very sweet of you to say.
DeleteThis is just the best! Witty response on her part, but does anyone else catch the actual hurt that she might not of known she gave away in that responding letter? Hopefully, she doesn't go through too much heartache throughout the whole, but I guess really there wouldn't be much of a story to write if something isn't quite right. Can't wait to read their story and find out. Nicely done Shana! :)
ReplyDeleteConstant Reader
Well, I caught it, Amy. And yes, if everything was great, the book would end pretty quickly. They both learn a lot during the story.
DeleteSounds like it will be quite a journey for Andrew and Lily to get together!
ReplyDeleteMary D.
Definitely, Mary! It was a fun book, though. Not all of them are--for me, anyway.
DeleteBuahaha! I love her reply to him. I get to read this one for a review soon and I'm looking forward to it more than ever. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteOr maybe stand on his head...

ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheryl. My publisher does great covers.
DeleteHow did you decide which gems to use in your book title?
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a really great answer for that, but the titles were given to me for the most part. I had to work the gems in. It's sort of backwards, and not a very romantic answer, right?
DeleteSounds like an amazing read!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Good luck, Natasha!
