First off, can you tell us a bit about you?
Well, I’m a writer…

Oh, you wanted more than that? Okay. I live in Oklahoma with my husband and dogs. We have three grown children, so it’s just the two of us, which means we can take off and go whenever we want (so convenient). I’ve written over sixty-five books with a lot more to come.

Did you always want to be a writer?
No. I wanted to be a nurse at one point, but that didn’t work out. I ended up spending many years in management in corporate America. I like writing a lot better.

What kind of writer are you? Panster or Plotter?
I don’t plot. I write a two to three paragraph overview of the book, then I sit down and let the story unfold as I write it. The characters never fail to surprise me.

Where do your ideas come from?
The frozen foods section at WalMart. Always check the expiration date, though. Fresh ideas are the best.

A la Twitter style, can you describe your book (or series) in 140 characters or less.
Two former lovers confront their past and hope for a future together.

What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?
I love contemporary romance. It’s my favorite genre. Though I also enjoy romantic suspense and some paranormal.

Do you have a favorite book and if so what is it?
I don’t have one favorite book. I have a lot of favorite books. I’ve read so many that I’ve loved over the years and re-read. Kathleen Woodiwiss, Jude Deveraux, Elizabeth Lowell—some of the old classic historicals are some of my favorites to reread.

What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?
Sex scenes are the hardest to write because they have to convey more than just the physical act of love. There’s emotion and the forward progress of the relationship. And every love scene is different. They take a lot of time to construct because you want to get them right.

If you could have dinner with any three authors, who would you choose and why?
Alive or dead authors? Because I’d love to have dinner with William Shakespeare. He’s written some of my favorite sonnets and plays, and he’d probably serve awesome wine. Mark Twain because he’d entertain me throughout dinner. And Jane Austen, because she’s Jane freaking Austen.

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
I’m currently working on Love After All, Book four of the Hope series. It’s Chelsea and Bash’s story. And I’m having a lot of fun writing this book.

I have a holiday novella releasing in November—Holiday on Ice, which is Stella and Trick’s book.
In addition, Berkley is reissuing my Wild Riders series books with new covers this month. I hope everyone checks them out. Hot motorcycles and hot men.

I’d like to know which author the readers would like to have dinner with.

A novel of small-town hearts and big dreams...

Molly Burnett dreads returning to her hometown of Hope for her sister’s wedding, especially knowing she’ll have to endure a weekend with the one man she never wants to see again. It’s only a couple of days, so Molly will try to forget her painful past with high school sweetheart Carter Richards. Because despite the bitter memories, she still can’t forget what they once meant to each other.

But when Molly is forced to extend her stay, Carter sees this as his second chance to do things right, to start over again with the only woman he’s ever loved. This time, he isn’t going to let Molly run. Together they’re going to confront the past and put it behind them, and hope for a future as bright as the flame that still burns hot between them.

  7. Dinner with Charles Dickens or Jane Austen would be interesting and as far as living authors, perhaps Judith McNaught, Julie James or Sherry Thomas.

  8. I love to hear about what writers used to do for work. A nurse, eh? It often informs their writing somehow. Like I used to show my paintings in galleries and now I often write about artists. I bet nursing and working in the corporate world taught you a lot about human nature.
