RFTC Hall Pass Event with Laura Kaye

Laura is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over twenty books in contemporary and paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Growing up, Laura’s large extended family believed in the supernatural, and family lore involving angels, ghosts, and evil-eye curses cemented in Laura a life-long fascination with storytelling and all things paranormal. She lives in Maryland with her husband, two daughters, and cute-but-bad dog, and appreciates her view of the Chesapeake Bay every day.

Thanks so much to Dani for having me here and Happy Blogoversary to Ramblings from this Chick! I’m always super happy to talk heroes and to share my favorites. Here are a few:

Zsadist, from J.R. Ward’s Lover Awakened

Zsadist is pretty much my favorite hero ever, because his redemption is so unlikely and so hard-fought, that it is among the most powerful character arcs I’ve ever read. Add that to his backstory, which is utterly heart-wrenching, his amazing sexual awakening, and his lethal nature, and dude, that is one swoonworthy hero! Don’t even get me talking about his protectiveness of Bella, or the moment he realizes his eyes have turned yellow again, or when he writes ‘I LOVE YOU’ on a sheet of paper to show Bella he’s learning to read and write. GAH!

Jamie Fraser, from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander

Jamie Fraser is such a perfect hero that he could literally ruin you for any other hero. LOL A strong, brave warrior. Loyal and true. Sex on a freaking stick and sexually inexperienced—but oh so eager to learn. And when it matters most, he believes the most important story in the world—and fights for the woman he loves. And getting to see it all on the screen now is just the icing on the cake.

Reese Anders, from Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Fall With Me

I couldn’t put this book down, and it was largely because of Reese, a seriously hot cop in an amazing story that manages to be part friends to lovers and part enemies to lovers. Reese is so intense between the sheets that you just wanted to stay there with him all day long, but he’s so realistic that he’s someone you could know in real life—and you will wish you did!

Hard Ink Tattoo owner Jeremy Rixey has taken on his brother's stateside fight against the forces that nearly killed Nick and his Special Forces team a year before. Now, Jeremy's whole world has been turned upside down--not the least of which by a brilliant, quiet blond man who tempts Jeremy to settle down for the first time ever.

Recent kidnapping victim Charlie Merritt has always been better with computers than people, so when he's drawn into the SF team's investigation of his army colonel father's corruption, he's surprised to find acceptance and friendship--especially since his father never accepted who Charlie was. Even more surprising is the heated tension Charlie feels with sexy, tattooed Jeremy, Charlie's opposite in almost every way.

With tragedy and chaos all around them, temptation flashes hot, and Jeremy and Charlie can't help but wonder why they're trying so hard to be good...
