Naughty New Year Event with Cecilia Tan

Cecilia Tan is the award-winning author of Slow Surrender, Magic University, and Daron's Guitar Chronicles. RT awarded her the 2014 Career Achievement and Pioneer Awards for her 25+ year career writing passionate fiction. She lives in the Boston area with her partner of 25 years and three shy cats.

Here's a special New Years scene featuring the main couple in my forthcoming book HARD RHYTHM, which comes out January 31st! I wrote it exclusively for this! This is from Chino's point of view. Not safe for work, but hey, it's a holiday, right? -Cecilia

I never pictured myself in a "lifestyles of the rich and famous" TV show. When I dreamed of becoming a rock star what I pictured was thousands of fans filling an arena and me reigning over them from my drum kit throne, unleashing their screams of ecstasy every time I raised my drumstick high. The music is what drove me--and the need to get away from my ultra conservative stepfather. All the stuff that came with success and fame later? The women, the mansions, the fancy cars? I didn't give it a thought until it was right in my lap.

So here I am on a private beach on a tropical island, balmy breezes blowing my hair out of my eyes, and you want to know what I do have in my lap?

The most beautiful woman in the world. I nibble on her shoulder and she shifts in my arms. "They look about ready to set off those fireworks?" I ask.

She squints up the beach, where we can just make out some of our host's staff in the flickering torch light. "They're supposed to go off at midnight, aren't they?"

"Like any of us can tell what time it is." I haven't looked at my cell phone in days. I'm not allowed to tell you which celebrity invited the band to spend a low key New Years Eve in paradise but the whole band is here, plus the Hamilton sisters, and a couple of other folks we know. All escaping from Hollywood to ring in the new year.

It's been a rough one. Bowie, Prince, even George Michael--it's like someone's picking off music icons in every genre. Makes you appreciate life, though, and how fragile it is.

So here we are to celebrate, away from the publicists and the paparazzi, just hanging out. With fireworks. Or so we've been promised.

Axel walks by with Ricki, hand in hand, carrying a blanket, looking for the perfect spot to watch the show. I'm not sure he even sees me and Madison where we are, on our own blanket and partly sheltered by a wind- and sand-sculpted outcropping of rock. Now that our eyes have adjusted to the dark we can see the Milky Way overhead, a million stars you can never ever see from Los Angeles, between the smog and the lights of the city.

I nuzzle Madison's hair which smells like orange blossoms and coconut oil. Delicious. She's wearing a bikini top and a loose peasant-type skirt over the bottoms.

"Are you getting impatient?" I murmur into her ear. "Because you're squirming that beautiful bottom of yours an awful lot."

She shimmies a little extra in my lap in answer. "Feels like I'm not the impatient one," she says slyly. She can feel my hardness right through my Speedo. You bet she can.

"Strip off your bikini bottom," I say, and she knows it's not a suggestion.

"Yes, sir," she says, and wiggles it off.

I take it from her and make her hold it in her teeth, then shift her on my lap so she's facing the same direction as me, looking out over the dark sea. My hands slip under her skirt and my fingers go to work teasing her, making sure she's wet and ready before I give my next command.

"Put it in, sweets," I say, pulling my Speedo down. She arches her back immediately and a moment later we're joined in bliss, skin to skin, no need for condoms between us, not anymore. The most intimate I've ever been with a woman. I've never trusted someone so much.

And I've never been so trusted in return. She'll do anything I ask, even fuck me on the beach maybe twenty yards from our friends, just because I say so. The sky lights up as the pyrotechnics start and I can see Axel and Ricki looking up. There's Gwen and Mal a bit further down at the edge of the water, their faces turned toward the brilliant color and explosions streaking out over the ocean.

In the brightness of the fireworks anyone who looked back would see what we're doing. I lie back on the blanket and thrust upward into her. She grinds against me. "Hands behind your back, sweets," I say, gripping her hips. I'm sure the explosions are beautiful but my eyes are on the woman above me, her red hair cascading down her back, every line of her body showing me how gorgeous she is, how ecstatic, how perfectly mine. I'll never cherish anything more than her and the love we share together.

Happy New Year, Maddie.

Are they ready to go all the way?

Maddie Rofel has seen it all. Even the kinkiest games she witnesses working as a hostess in L.A.'s most exclusive private sex club fail to shock her, much less turn her on. Until the night she has a very personal encounter with drummer Chino Garcia, and the two discover an intimate connection neither can deny. Suddenly the jaded hostess is softening under Chino's touch, and submitting in ways she never expected . . .

All his life, Chino has been running from something. Normally he beats back his demons by losing himself in his music. Now he's losing himself in Maddie. And, while it drives Chino wild when Maddie bares her body to him, what he really wants is for Maddie to bare her soul. For that, Chino will have to push Maddie past her furthest limits-and share his own dark secrets.
