An Entangled Winter Wonderland Event with Kadie Scott

Award-winning contemporary romance author, Kadie Scott, grew up consuming books and exploring the world through her writing. She attempted to find a practical career related to her favorite pastime by earning a degree in English Rhetoric (Technical Writing). However, she swiftly discovered that writing without imagination is not nearly as fun as writing with it.

No matter the genre, she loves to write witty, feisty heroines, sexy heroes who deserve them, and a cast of lovable characters to surround them (and maybe get their own stories). She currently resides in Austin, Texas, with her own personal hero, her husband, and their two children, who are growing up way too fast.

Our Best Christmas Present Ever

About five years ago, my husband and I decided it was time to get a dog. So, for Christmas, we bought a bunch of doggie things. You know—bed, bowls, collar, leash, and so forth. We put them in a gift box along with a note that we would go to the shelter to pick out the dog to go with them and surprised our kids. They’d been asking for a dog for years.

The next week we went to several local shelters, and boy howdy did we get lucky. T-Bone (yes that’s his real name—it totally fits when you meet him) is a chihuahua mixed with a terrier or pug maybe. He’s a little tub of a dog and was a little older than we were looking for, but that was okay. Described as a goofball by the shelter staff, he ran around like a happy nut when we did our meet and greet. But he’d come from a family with six kids of varying ages, so that sounded just perfect.

We had no idea that we’d chosen the PERFECT dog. T-Bone is so calm and wonderful with children and adults alike. His favorite thing to do is sit and be petted or sleep all curled up next to his humans. He’s a quiet dog with the funniest little toy-airplane growl. He’s also about as adorable as it gets with one floppy ear and a sweet little face, sort of springy fur, and a tail that is half-curly and half-straight.

Can you see why I just had to make him a character in one of my books—funny tail, sweet personality, goofy name, and all. In The Attraction Equation, T-Bone steps in to bring Max and Gina together. At the holidays of course, because that’s when he joined our family.

The best Christmas present ever. We love T-Bone so much!

More about T-Bone’s book… The Attraction Equation

FBI agent Max Carter lives his life by a strict set of rules—rules that don’t allow for distraction, deviation…or a relationship. But tell that to his matchmaking mama. To avoid yet another set-up, he announces he has a girlfriend. And now has to produce said girlfriend at Christmas dinner. Maybe Santa has a suitable actress in that red bag of his…

Gina Castillo is about to break her building’s iron-clad “no pets” policy to give her little brother the perfect Christmas gift—a dog. Too bad Max, the most inconveniently sexy tenant in the building, catches her red handed. Gina expects to be evicted, but instead finds herself blackmailed into playing the role of his girlfriend.

Two lies plus one dog should equal a hot mess of a holiday, but attraction and Christmas magic might just defy the rules…
