ARC Review: Rock Solid by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

I have really enjoyed this series from Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Each Book Boyfriend book is a standalone, though I recommend all of them. Rock Solid was just as good as if not better than all the previous books in this series. Everything that I have read from them has been something I've enjoyed and I think readers will really enjoy Connor and Katie's story. 

Connor Prescott doesn't do one night stands but when he gets snowed in at the airport and meets a sexy stranger, he makes an exception. But after a steamy night together, Connor wants more. When he discovers that she is gone, he never expects to see her again. Years later she shows back up and shocks him when she tells him that he is a dad. 

I loved the characters here. This series has had great characters from the start and Connor and Katie were no exception. They were easy to like and relate to. Both of their lives changed with one night together, and I loved seeing them figure things out. They definitely didn't have it easy, and there were ups and downs as they adjusted to their new lives. But I thought that they had great chemistry and enjoyed seeing them build a connection. I loved their little girl too. I didn't want to put this one down. 

Overall, this story was another great one from this duo. Carly and Erika write well together, and their stories are always seamless. It feels like thees two have been writing together forever, and I have loved everything I've read from them. It was great to catch up a bit with past characters and I always like to see familiar faces. This series is one that I have enjoyed from the very beginning, and I highly recommend these books. If you are looking for a solid romance read that is filled with well thought out and likable characters, Rock Solid and the rest of the Book Boyfriend series are ones you won't want to miss.

ARC Review: Rock Me by Carly Phillips

Carly Phillips is one of the first romance authors that I ever read, and years later I am still loving her books! I don't even read the blurbs anymore because I know I will enjoy the story. This cover though absolutely blew me away and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this story. It was fun and sexy and a great quick romance. I think readers are going to love this one! 

Ben Hollander and Summer Michelle once met on the set of a reality show when she was trying to become the next big pop star and he was working security. They couldn't stay away from each other and it ended up breaking both their hearts when production found out and fired Ben for breaking the rules. He always thought that she was the one that told them and she always wondered why he wouldn't take her calls after it all went down, leading her to believe he felt less for her than she did. But now just as her career is about to take off, some starts targeting Summer and when a bodyguard is hired for her both Ben and Summer are shocked to find themselves face to face once again. The first time they were together they were both hurt, but can they possibly have a second chance to make things right and see just what they could have together?

I liked these two. They were sweet and sexy, and I loved that they had history together. They really felt as thought they complimented one another, with each one understanding and supporting the other. They had great chemistry and you could feel the attraction between them. I liked them a lot and loved seeing them get to know one another all over again. 

Overall, this was a great quick read that had everything I have come to love and expect from Carly Phillips. While this wasn't my favorite books of hers, I enjoyed every bit of it and I am looking forward to reading more in this series. I love the way she set up the next book, and I can't wait to get to know Austin better. This is one that I liked from start to finish, and I recommend if you are a contemporary fan looking for something sexy and sweet.

ARC Review: Going in Deep by Carly Phillips

Going in Deep is the fourth book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Carly Phillips, each book is a standalone story though. If you have read the previous books in this series though, you will recognize these characters. Carly Phillips is one of those authors that never disappoints, and I highly recommend anything that she writes.

Julian Dane thought that he had hit rock bottom, but then he met a girl that changed his life. When he used her and broke her heart though, he realized that he needed to make a change. Determined to turn things around though, he knows that he will have a lot of work ahead of him to make amends to all those that he hurt, including Kendall. Kendall Parker has issues though, and those were only made worse after Julian betrayed her. Can he prove to her that he has changed and is worth taking a chance on?

I wasn't sure how it was going to be possible for Julian to be redeemed, but Carly definitely did it. These two each had issues they were dealing with and they both had so much growing up to do. I loved seeing the progress they made and watching as they healed and moved forward. They had a lot to fight internally, but they also had to fight for each other. Kendall had so many walls up, but I loved seeing them come down. These two had chemistry and a connection, but it wasn't an easy journey. 

Overall, this was a great second chance romance. I loved that it was real and that things weren't easy all the time. It was heartbreaking at times, yet filled with sweet and hopeful moments. While this is a standalone story, I definitely recommend reading this entire series if you can. There is so much background with these two and they come so far over the course of the series, that I think for full enjoyment it is best to read the entire series. Plus the other books in this series are great and I loved the characters that we were introduced to in them. Carly Phillips is a great writer and I highly recommend this series as well as her other books.

ARC Review: Faking It by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Faking It is the second book in the Book Boyfriend series by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Each book is a standalone story and you do not need to read them in order to enjoy. I have yet to be disappointed by these two authors, and Faking It was just as good as I had been hoping for. I genuinely enjoyed reading this one from start to finish and I didn't want to put this book down once I had started. 

As a matchmaker for a living Hailey Ellison knows that she needs to project a certain image to be taken seriously by clients, which is why she wears an engagement ring while not actually being with anyone. Max Sterling is her real estate agent who has been drawn to her since they met, though he knows he needs to stay away believing that she is someone else's. But when he finds out that she is not actually engaged and needs his help in convincing a client that she is, he jumps at the opportunity to pretend that she is his fiance. Max has been trying to get rid of a persistent woman that won't take no for an answer, so he views it as the perfect chance for both of them to help each other out. He also knows that he won't be satisfied until they explore the connection and attraction between them that has been there from the start. But what happens when their fake relationship suddenly starts to feel very real? 

I really loved Max and Hailey! These two were perfect for one another and I loved that they had such a strong connection. Hailey had some insecurities that ran deep, and Max was exactly what she needed. Showing her that he found her attractive and that what they had was real helped her to see that she was beautiful just as she was. Max was sweet and sexy, and I loved that while he had been a bachelor for so long, it was just because he had been waiting for Hailey. He was all in with her and it was so refreshing to see him really embrace that. Hailey was sweet and caring and super easy to like. She was the kind of girl that you would love to be friends with in real life. She was just a good person that you couldn't help but root for! The chemistry between these two was so intense and it just made it that much more powerful because of the connection they shared. 

Overall, this one was so much fun to read and I just loved the characters. Sweet and sexy, this book had it all. I didn't want to put it down once I had started, and it was everything I had been hoping for and more. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde make a fantastic writing team, and this book is one that I highly recommend. I can't wait to read more from these two, and I know that Faking It is one I will reread again in the future.

ARC Review: Going Down Hard by Carly Phillips

Going Down Hard is the third standalone story in the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Carly Phillips. You do not need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy Going Down Hard. I have always enjoyed everything that I have read from Carly Phillips and Going Down Hard was no exception. She is definitely one of those authors that is an auto-buy for me, because I know that the book will be something that I like. 

Going Down Hard is Derek West and Cassie Storm's story. Derek West overcame his poor background to be a powerful player in he tech world. Sexy and confidant, Derek can have any woman he wants. But Derek wants Cassie, the rich girl that has always been out of his reach. But with Cassie desperate to save her family's company, he knows that he can use that to get to her. He plans to use her to to screw her out of his head as well as gain control of her family's company, but once he starts to get close to Cassie he quickly realizes that a taste won't be enough. Cassie's family remembers exactly who he is though, and the last thing that they want is for Cassie to be with Derek. Can Cassie and Derek overcome their pasts and circumstances to find a way to be together, or will there be too many obstacles standing in their way?

I really loved Cassie. She was sweet and caring, and completely genuine. I found her easy to relate to even though we are a lot different, but she was just one of those heroines that you can't help but love. Derek on the other hand was the reason this book wasn't a five star read for me. He had a huge chip on his shoulder and he drove me nuts at times. While I understood some of where he was coming from, I had a hard time with the fact that he was so determined to use Cassie to destroy everything that she loved. He blamed her for things that really didn't have anything to do with her because they were her family's doing and honestly by the time that he eventually got over everything, I was over him. 

Overall, this was a good book and I did think that Cassie and Derek had strong chemistry and a connection. But I just wish that Derek had been easier to like for me. He turned things around and I did like the ending, but Cassie was the reason that I kept reading this book when I might have stopped otherwise. Carly Phillips is a great writer and if you are looking for something sweet and sexy, you definitely can't go wrong with her books. While this wasn't my favorite of hers that I have read, I still really enjoyed it and it is worth the read.

ARC Review: Big Shot by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

I'm a Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde fan so I was excited to see these two authors team up. I wasn't sure about this specific book because it had a very contemporary romance feel and I like something with a little more grit but I should've known not to play these two authors short. This is total contemporary romance but I love the couple, I love the frienemy edge and I just enjoyed this story.

Wes and Natalie are real estate brokers and are constantly in competition with one another. Natalie has been getting the best of Wes so they decide to make things interesting with a bet. If Natalie loses the bet, she has to spend two weeks at Wes' beck and call. And of course Natalie loses the bet which is good for all of us. Once Natalie has to start spending time with Wes, neither of them can deny that underneath their rivalry has been a constant attraction. Natalie thinks Wes is just not into her. But in reality Wes has been repressing his feelings for Natalie because she is the little sister of his best friend. Natalie quickly finds out how wrong she is about Wes but she's not sure that he wants her for anything more than a fling. For Wes' part, he's convinced that Natalie doesn't think he could be the long term commitment family man that she is looking for. For the first time, Wes feels unsure of himself with a woman.

I always think romance stories are more interesting when the characters have realistic issues. I was fascinated by the way that Natalie's attempts to protect herself from getting hurt sent all the wrong messages to Wes. I also liked that for as cocky as Wes was, Natalie was able to get the best of him in business and in love. I was thoroughly entertained by this book. I recommend this one for a quick fun read.

ARC Review: Going Down Fast by Carly Phillips

I love a good second chance love story and Carly Phillips never disappoints, so when the two are combined I knew I had to read it! Going Down Fast is the second book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series, but each book is a standalone story and you do not need to read these in order to understand anything. This book was everything I had been hoping for, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 

Lucas Monroe and Maxie Sullivan were childhood best friends that were also in love with each other. But Maxie has always been off limits to Lucas and while he was off at college and then becoming wildly successful in the tech world, Maxie moved on with her life. But now Maxie finds herself desperate for help, knowing that the only one she can turn to is Lucas. With their pasts being as complicated as they are though, do they possibly stand a chance of having a future together?

I loved these two! Lucas was fantastic and Maxie was easy to like. Lucas had everything he could ever want, yet he had always wanted Maxie. I loved how he never gave up, yet he didn't push her into anything she couldn't handle. Maxie had been through a lot, and Lucas was patient with her. Maxie grew and became stronger because of Lucas, and I really felt like these two were at their best together. The chemistry between them was beyond hot, and I couldn't get enough of them together. 

Overall, I really loved this book and I definitely plan to read more in this series. This was my first in this particular series from Carly Phillips, but I have really enjoyed everything I have read from her over the years. Carly has a way with words, and she has never disappointed me with her stories. Carly Phillips continues to write sexy and captivating stories that just seem to get better with each new book. If you are a fan of contemporary romance, Carly Phillips is one author you shouldn't miss! I highly recommend Going Down Fast, and I look forward to more from Carly Phillips in the future.

ARC Review: Going Down Easy by Carly Phillips

I like this book. It's a good boss/personal assistant romance with a few twists.

Lexi's life is not going according to plan. She had a great future set out for her but gave it up to take care of her sister. I can personally relate to Lexi's story and I really liked her as the leading character. Lexi takes a job as Kades assistant and I'm not exactly sure why. Lexi's dad seems to have plenty of money. He is one of Kade's primary investors and actually gets her the job with Kade. I would think he would just help Lexi out while she helped her sister but, ok, whatever. It brought Lexi and Kade together so how mad can you be that it didn't necessarily make sense?

Kade is the typical sexy nightmare boss and alpha male. The thing about Kade is that he's got real hurt in his past and real trust issues when it comes to women. Even though Kade was kind of rude at first, I really felt for him and liked him right away. I was kind of surprised by how quickly Kade decides that his relationship with Lexi is not going to remain strictly professional. Kade is instantly taken by Lexi's ability to stand up to him. Most people wilt when Kade goes all big bad wolf on them but Lexi stands up to Kade and he really likes it.

I loved that Kade does not waste any time letting Lexi know what he wants BUT, Kade knew that his personal issues would get in the way of a long term relationship. This happens in a lot of books but I always find it mildly irritating when characters hook up even though they know they are not looking for a relationship. It's ok if that is communicated but Kade never told Lexi about his issues. Luckily, Lexi was used to dealing with difficult personalities and quickly picked up on some of Kade's issues and was able to work around them. I think Kade is the first male Hero I've read about who had some mental issues (ADHD and mild OCD). Let me just reassure you, it does not overshadow his character and really did add some fascinating layers to this book.

The life circumstances and personal issues of these characters make this book more believable and less forgettable. I recommend you give this one a try.

ARC Review: Dirty Sexy Cuffed by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Dirty Sexy Cuffed is the third book in Dirty Sexy series by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but the books are connected. I haven't read the first book in the series, but I really enjoyed the second book and was excited to read more about these sexy Kincaids! This was another great book from these two, and I already can't wait for more from them! 

Levi Kincaid is known for being the quiet younger Kincaid brother and as a cop he prefers control in all aspects of his life. Then he meets Sarah Robins and she changes everything. Though Levi wants Sarah, her past has her not looking for anything more. But after Levi witnesses a hold up at her store, he ends up getting hurt while protecting her. After seeing how far Levi would go for her, Sarah agrees to go on a date with him. When Sarah starts to let her guard down and let Levi in, he becomes more determined than ever to show Sarah that there are good guys out there and that he is worth taking a chance on. But can he get her to see that she can trust him after all that she has been through?

I absolutely loved Levi! He is protective and alpha, but so caring and sweet. He was great with Sarah, and I really loved how he was understanding and so determined to show her what real men are like. Sarah was on the run and doing her best to move forward with her life. She was easy to like and I loved her for Levi. They had a great connection and the chemistry between them was off the charts. I loved that she was on board with Levi's desires and I thought that they were super sexy together! Levi knew when to push and when to back off, and I just couldn't get enough of them and the connection they were building. 

Overall, this was a great story. It had everything that you could want in a great romance story, with plenty of sweetness, heat, and action to keep you turning the pages. If you are a fan of the series already, there were some really great moments with familiar faces. If you are new to the series though, you can easily enjoy this one without feeling lost. I really enjoyed this one from start to finish, and I highly recommend it! I look forward to reading more from these two and I can't wait to read the next in the series as well as go back and read the first one.

ARC Review: Dare to Take by Carly Phillips

I’m a huge fan of Carly Phillips writing and especially her “Dare to Love” series. I’ve read a few of the books in the series and they are all great reads! In “Dare to Take” Phillips continues with the Dare Family. In this story we meet Tyler Dare and Ella Shaw. Once again Phillips did not disappoint.

Tyler Dare was a great hero. I really loved his complexities and his all too human characteristics. Tyler and Ella have had underlining chemistry for years. We quickly learn that a drunken night that they shared together causes many problems for them in the years to come. Tyler carries a lot of guilt about that night. Because of his one night stand with Ella- his sister’s best friend- his and Ella’s relationship has been strained.

Ella was an equally great heroine! Ella naively believed that the one night stand she had with Tyler would mean more than it actually did. She carries anger and resentment towards him. Ella has always had feelings for Tyler so his behavior after their time together leads to a lot of hurt feelings on her part.

With a little help from Mother Nature and from Avery, Ellie and Tyler have a chance to rekindle old feelings. Tyler is ever the alpha as he tries to protect Ellie from the forces of nature and a stalker.

I really like both Ella and Tyler together. Their chemistry was fantastic. I loved to see that both were able to move past their mistakes and build a good friendship that eventually leads to more. Phillips also catches us up with past characters and we see some of the family members move on to big moments in their lives. As a fan of “Dare to Love” series I think that the stories get better and better and the chemistry never disappoints.
