ARC Review: Insatiable by Melanie Harlow

Melanie Harlow is an author that I love everything I’ve read by her. Her stories are feel good romances that always leave me in a good mood and that I enjoy from start to finish. Insatiable was cute and sweet and exactly what I needed in my life. I had a great time reading this one, and if you love contemporary romances, is one I’d highly recommend. While this is the third book in her Cloverleigh Farms series, it is a standalone story that you can read even if you haven’t read the previous two books.

Meg and Noah have never been anything more than friends, living their separate lives but keeping in touch no matter where life takes them. But after getting dumped, Meg heads home to Cloverleigh Farms to be near family and friends. As Meg and Noah spend more time together, things between them begin to change and soon they are seeing each other differently than they have before. I loved them both and there were so great for one another. Their connection was clear and I enjoyed seeing them transition from friends to more.

This book was fast paced and kept me flipping pages, not wanting to put it down. I really enjoyed it and I loved the characters. Melanie Harlow delivered another great contemporary romance and I think this is one of those books that will appeal to many readers. It is just a great story that you can lose yourself in and feel good from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what Melanie writes next and definitely recommend this one!

ARC Review: Only Love by Melanie Harlow

Only Love is the third book in the One and Only series by Melanie Harlow. I love Melanie’s books and have enjoyed this series, with each book being a standalone story they are able to be read without reading the others. They are all interconnected though, so for full enjoyment you might want to read them in order. I will say that while I enjoyed this one, it was my least favorite of the series. I struggled a bit with this story unlike the previous books.

Instead of getting a proposal for her birthday like she expected, Stella got dumped. When her Grams finds out, she has the perfect plan for her granddaughter. She fakes dementia and health problems to get her to visit, all with the plan of getting Stella together with her next door neighbor Ryan. Ryan is a Marine that keeps to himself and doesn’t get out much, after all he has been through that is the way he wants it. But Grams is not having it and knows that he would be perfect for her granddaughter. While the attraction between them is there from the start, Ryan’s past has him fighting anything more between them as much as they both want something more.

Part of my issue here was Ryan. While he was sexy and had some great moments, I found myself growing sick of the hot and cold with him. I understood part of what he was going through and how he felt, but it was so back and forth and it just got really old. I grew tired of it and honestly didn’t see why Stella kept forgiving him so easily. Stella was sweet and I felt for her and all the insecurities she had because of her past. She kind of came off as a bit weak though, with how she could just so quickly and easily move forward with Ryan no matter how he treated her. Things progressed so quickly between them, I could see the chemistry and the physical side but the connection was harder for me to believe. It was pretty much insta-love and I struggled to get behind that. They definitely had steam though, that was very clear from the start.

Overall, not my favorite of the series, though there were several things that I enjoyed. It was steamy and Grams was a hoot! She was definitely the comic relief that kept me from being truly frustrated here and I was so loving her parts. I have really enjoyed Melanie’s books though, so while this wasn’t the best I’ve read from her it definitely won’t be the last! If you’ve enjoyed this series or think it sounds like one you might like, I recommend giving it a go.

ARC Review: Only You by Melanie Harlow

I absolutely love Melanie Harlow! Her books never disappoint and that was so true here with Only You. This book is a standalone story full of heat and emotion and it had me swooning the whole way through. I couldn't put it down and I honestly think Melanie Harlow could write anything and I would read it.

Emme and Nate are neighbors and friends. They are opposite in almost everything, including their love lives. So while Nate has rescued her on more than one occasion, she is a relationship type of girl while he prefers to keep things casual. But when one of his hookups surprises him with a baby, he knows that he needs Emme's help this time. Can Emme show him that she is the one for him and that they could have a real future together?

I loved these two and the dynamic between them. The banter was amazing and I just couldn't get enough. Nate showed a lot of growth here and I loved seeing the depth to him as his entire life changed. Emme was fantastic and I thought that she was perfect for him. These two were sexy and sweet, and their story is one I think a lot of readers will be able to relate to and feel invested in.

Overall, this was another winner from Melanie Harlow. Only You was heartfelt and captivating and I can't say enough good things about it. Melanie Harlow is a talented writer and her contemporaries are some of my all time favorites. If you are looking for a solid story that you can lose yourself in, I highly recommend Only You as well as anything else by Melanie. I also have to say that it was great to see some familiar faces here from Melanie's past stories, but if you are new to her you do not need to have read them to enjoy Only You.

ARC Review: From This Moment by Melanie Harlow

I am a huge Melanie Harlow fan, so I pretty much don't even read blurbs anymore when it comes to her. I just add it to my TBR, because I know I will be reading it. I really liked From This Moment and she yet again delivered a sweet and sexy as well as emotional story that I didn't want to put down. She never disappoints, and this is one I think readers are going to love.

After losing her husband, Hannah begins to piece her life back together in order to be the best mom she can be to her young daughter. She gets a new job and has family and friends to rely on. But when her late husband's twin brother moves back to town, all she can see is the future that she won't have. Wes and Hannah find themselves drawn to one another though, and soon grief and understanding becomes want and desire. As hard as they try to fight the pull between them, they find themselves giving in and soon they have to decide if the chance at love and a future together is worth risking everything for.

I liked both Wes and Hannah. They each understood loss and grief and knew what it was like to feel torn about their feelings. Wes was sweet and perfect for Hannah, and I loved that he was different from his brother. Wes is honestly the man Hannah should have been with all along, and I felt bad for him. He was a bit more shy and it was great to see him finally coming clean about his feelings and taking that step. Hannah was a great mom and I loved that she put her daughter first. I don't know how she put up with some of what she did and how she moved forward after an incident that she did, but she was a better woman than I would have been in her shoes. These two had great chemistry and a clear connection and I really liked them together.

Overall, this was another great read from Melanie Harlow. I liked the characters and the story. I was drawn in right away and didn't want to stop reading. There was one thing that I had a bit of an issue with, and honestly it is probably something that just gets to me personally. I don't want to spoil anything, but it seems like there is something authors tend to do when there is a dead spouse and it drives me nuts, I was hoping she wouldn't go there here but she did. I will say things went a bit differently than it usually does with that, but I still didn't love that she went there. Other than that though, this was really good and Melanie Harlow is still one of my favorites. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

ARC Review: Strong Enough by Melanie Harlow & David Romanov

I am a huge fan of Melanie Harlow's, so I was really excited when I saw that she had a new book coming out. Strong Enough is actually her first M/M novel, as well it being her first collaboration. This is also David Romanov's writing debut, and these two did a fantastic job! I really enjoyed this book and the writing was seamless and flowed as if they had been writing together for years.

The last thing that Derek was looking for was another stray that his sister needed his help with. But when she called asking for his help with Maxim, a man trying to start a new life in the US, he knew he had to help. But neither of them expected the instant attraction and growing connection they feel. Derek had his life all planned out, and Maxim was everything he had always secretly wanted yet knew he could never have. Maxim wasn't looking for love but wasn't willing to walk away without giving things between them a try. But can Derek be strong enough to go against everything he always planned for his future for a chance at everything with Maxim?

I really loved these two. I felt the chemistry and connection between them right away, but I was glad that things progressed naturally for them and it didn't feel rushed. Maxim was so mature and open for his age, and I loved his patience with Derek. He understood where Derek was coming from and he never pressured him, and yet at the same time Maxim also didn't lower his own standards. He knew what he needed and what he had to do, and even if it hurt he wasn't willing to hide and keep their love a secret just to be with Derek. Derek had a lot to overcome, and I thought that Maxim was perfect for him. He showed him that their love wasn't wrong and that while it wasn't what Derek had planned for his life that it was worth taking a risk.

Overall, this was just a really great story and I enjoyed reading it a lot. The characters were easy to like, and their story was genuine and believable. There was so much passion between Maxim and Derek, but it was so much more than that. These two clicked right away and were able to talk to one another and had such a great foundation for more. I loved seeing their friendship and the attraction between them grow, and it just felt right. There were some really great secondary characters here as well, especially Derek's sister. I loved her and how supportive she was of these two. I would love for her to get her own book as well as maybe see more of these two in the future. I highly recommend this one! This was a great story and Melanie and David made a great team! I really hope this isn't the last we see from them!

My Favorite Things Event with Melanie Harlow

Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her heels high, and her history with the naughty bits left in. Her stories are inspired by a sense of place, an appreciation for the past, and unexpected pleasures in life—especially the romantic kind. She lifts her glass to readers and writers from her home near Detroit, MI, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

ARC Review: After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

I absolutely love Melanie Harlow, and I could not have been more excited for After We Fall. I have been in kind of a book funk lately and this was exactly the book to pull me out! It was sexy, sweet, and emotional, giving the perfect balance of everything I look for in a great romance book! Though I have loved everything I have read from Melanie, After We Fall just might be my favorite!

Jack and Margot come from completely different worlds. Margot prefers men in suits and Jack doesn't want anything to do with a city girl like Margot. But since Margo has been hired to do some PR work for his family's farm, they are stuck with one another. But soon the tension between them is completely different, and they find themselves unable to stop the growing attraction and feelings for one another.

loved these two. They were so different, and yet they worked so well together. Jack was often broody and surly, and yet my heart broke for him and all that he had been through. He had been so deeply hurt that you could clearly see how he was was a direct reflection of his pain. Margot was exactly what he needed. Margot was dealing with her own issues and needed Jack just as much as he needed her. I adored these two and loved seeing how far they came over the course of this book. Their chemistry and connection were so strong and I couldn't get enough of them.

Overall, I really loved this book. The story was beautiful and one that I couldn't put down. I loved the characters and felt so invested in them. Melanie Harlow just seems to get better with each book she writes, and After We Fall is her at her absolute best! This is one I would highly recommend for romance fans of all genres, and I think that this book is a must read!

ARC Review: Man Candy by Melanie Harlow

I have loved every single book that I have read from Melanie Harlow, so I couldn't wait for Man Candy when I first heard about it! I really enjoyed this one from start to finish, and Melanie Harlow just proved once again what a talented writer she is. This book was so good and I couldn't put it down!

Jaime doesn't believe in love and she doesn't do relationships. But with her brother's best friend Quinn back in town and living in the duplex below hers, she finds it impossible to resist him. Though the sex is hot and she is happy to be friends with benefits, Quinn has other ideas and is determined to show her that they could be so much more.

I really loved Quinn! He was impossible to resist! Quinn is super sexy, confident, and really funny. It was different to see the guy be the one that wanted more, while Jaime was the one looking for casual. I liked that Quinn wasn't afraid of commitment, and I loved seeing him try to win Jaime over and show her that they could have so much more between them. He was so fun and playful, and I really loved how witty he was. I will admit that I did have a bit of a hard time relating to Jaime. I liked her, yet she was just so different from the type of person I am that it made it hard for me to understand her at times. I really liked her with Quinn though and I thought that he was exactly what she needed. These two had so much chemistry between them and it was as hot as I have come to expect from a Melanie Harlow novel. She always brings the heat, and these two were no exception.

Overall, another great book from Melanie Harlow and I have never been disappointed yet with anything by her. This one was funny and entertaining, and sexy as well. I always just have a great time reading whatever she writes, and I love how her stories have everything you could want in a great romance novel. She never fails to entertain me, and her books are always worth the read. Man Candy happens to be one of my favorite tropes with it being a brother's best friend novel, but I loved that this also had some things that aren't common in romance to switch it up a bit. I highly recommend this one if you are looking for something that will drawn you in from the first page and keep you entertained the whole way through. If you are already a fan of Melanie's you will love this one, and if you are new to her this is a great place to start!

ARC Review: Some Sort of Love by Melanie Harlow

Some Sort of Love is the third book in the Happy Crazy Love series from Melanie Harlow. Each book is a standalone story and features a different Nixon sister. This book is about Jillian, and I couldn't wait to get her story. Her story was adorable and on the sweet side, but as with any Melanie Harlow book there was plenty of steam as well.

Jillian Nixon's life is almost perfect, but the one thing she is missing is the thing she most envies about her sisters...love. They have each found the perfect match and as happy is she is for them, she wants the same for herself. But when she runs into her sexy one night stand from college, the two reconnect and realize that there is still the same spark. Levi Brooks is sexier than ever, but he is also a single father and that leaves little time for anything else. Though things are hotter than ever between them, Levi believes that Jillian deserves more and he won't be enough for her. Jillian knows better and will do whatever it takes to convince him that she wants something more with him and his son Scotty.

I really liked Jillian and Levi. These two had amazing chemistry right from the start, and they were super hot together. It was clear right away that their connection went beyond that though, and I loved seeing them get to know one another. Because of the situation they didn't have a lot of time together, but they made the most of it. Jillian was really understanding and caring, and I was glad that even when things would change she handled it well. She would of course be upset, but she understood that Scotty was a priority for Levi and was so supportive of him and whatever he needed. She really just wanted to spend her life with Levi and show him that he deserved everything, and I was glad that they were able to take things slow. It felt real and natural, and their relationship was very believable. Levi had a lot of fears and insecurities that he needed to work through, and I felt like Jillian was perfect for him through it all.

Overall, this was a really good story. There were times that it almost felt a bit too sweet if that is possible. But it was also funny, heartwarming, and of course extremely sexy. I am a huge fan of Melanie Harlow's because each book is such a great balance of everything I look for in a romance. If you are looking for an all around great love story, her books are a must read. I honestly can't wait to see what she writes in the future, and I am looking forward to reading more from her.

ARC Review: Some Sort of Crazy by Melanie Harlow

I love Melanie Harlow's writing style and I couldn't wait to read her newest book, Some Sort of Crazy. She always writes sexy stories that are emotional and funny, and I just know that I am in for a good story every time with her. This book was a ton of fun to read, and I couldn't get enough of Miles and Natalie. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for more! Some Sort of Crazy is the second book in Harlow's Happy Crazy Love series, but it is easily read as a standalone novel.

Natalie Nixon had her life all planned out until a psychic told her that a man would change everything for her. Being a skeptic, Natalie blew it off thinking that she already had it all with a new house, successful bakery and longtime boyfriend that she planned to marry. But Miles Haas came crashing back into her life. Though Miles is no stranger, she finds her life changing and it all centers around him. Suddenly she is seeing him in a completely new light. But can she give up her comfortable life for a chance at something with Miles when he has always been the playboy that doesn't want to settle down?

These two were so cute together. I loved their friendship and banter, and it was so much fun to watch them. They were feisty and flirty, and while things had never happened between them they had so much chemistry there. I really loved that this friends to lovers wasn't just a flip of the switch from platonic feelings to romantic feelings. These two had always had feelings for one another, but circumstances had kept them from ever exploring it. Their story felt very natural and the transition to more felt like it was really a long time coming. Miles was charismatic and hilarious, and he was exactly what Natalie needed. I wasn't sure I was going to like her at first since she was a bit more rigid and seemed to be one for a carefully planned life. But Miles brought out the fun side to her as well as the dirty side, and I was so glad he could loosen her up. She quickly became a heroine that I could root for and I found myself liking her a ton. These two were super sexy together, and I never wanted their story to end.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I have liked everything I have read from Melanie Harlow, but this just might be my favorite of hers. While her stories are always sexy, Some Sort of Crazy had a lightness to it as well that just made it impossible to put down. Some books are just a lot of fun to read and you enjoy every word, and that was Some Sort of Crazy for me. If you are a fan of Melanie Harlow, this book is an absolute must read. If you haven't yet read anything from her, I think this is the perfect place to start. Some Sort of Crazy is sexy and fun, and Miles and Natalie's story is one that shouldn't be missed.
