Welcome to the Casting Call Elise
Elise Rome has never forgiven Margaret Mitchell for making her fall in love with Scarlett and Rhett in Gone with the Wind and then not giving them a happy ending. She likes to think that she makes up for the injustice done to them with each romance novel she writes. When she isn't telling stories about sexy, headstrong heroes and intelligent, independent heroines, Elise stays busy chasing after her two young daughters, semi-attempting to do housework, and hiking in the beautiful foothills of Colorado.
Places to find Elise:
In SEDUCING THE DUCHESS, Philip Burgess, the Duke of Rutherford, is a man repressed by his role as duke. Nothing else in life seems as important as the dukedom…until he falls in love with his wife and kidnaps her. However, Philip doesn’t change overnight. Although he wants to be a man that Charlotte can love in return, he still has his stuffy moments of dukeliness (and yes, I did use that word in the book ;) ). To play the role of Philip, I’ve always imagined Clive Owen as the actor. I admit, part of this is my personal crush on Clive Owen, but I’ve also seen him in roles where his character breaks free from a rigid persona, and it was absolutely lovely to watch. =)
Charlotte, by comparison, has made herself into a seductress in the three years that they’ve been married. In the first line of the book, Philip describes her as “exquisite”. She is the woman that every man wants, a great beauty. The best actress I could think of to play Charlotte both for her looks and for her ability to act the seductress is Angelina Jolie.
I’ll be giving away one Kindle e-book copy of SEDUCING THE DUCHESS to a random winner!
Surprise! If you’re looking for Ashley, she’s changed her name to Elise Rome because she’ll soon be self-publishing her books.
It was just another scandalous night...
Gambling. Carousing. Flirting. Charlotte, Duchess of Rutherford, will do anything to create a scandal large enough to force her husband to finally petition for a divorce. Once madly in love with Philip, she is now determined to escape from their less than civil marriage and the reminders of his betrayal.
Until he stole her away...
Philip Burgess, Duke of Rutherford, is not a man to tolerate regrets. He wed Charlotte for revenge, not for love or convenience, knowing she would come to hate him. But he never expected he would one day find himself craving her attention or desiring her company.
And gave her something more...
Philip is no longer the cold, deceitful man she married years ago. And when he promises Charlotte a divorce if she will help him become a better husband for another woman, she wonders if she truly wants to lose him— and if Philip may still possess her heart after all.

Glad you agree, Joanne! Have you ever seen his "cave man" scene in the movie Closer? *swoon* The only reason I'm glad I watched that movie. =)
DeleteI love Clive Owen, but would not pick Angelina. I don't know who I would pick, but not her. I am so excited that there is another Ashley March book coming out. I love all of Elise Rome's books. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! I agree with you in that a better woman could be cast in terms of personality for Angelina. Natalie Portman, perhaps. =) Thank you for your support!
DeleteI love Clive Owen! I can see him having moments of dukeliness ;)
ReplyDeleteLol! Thanks, Krista. And also when his "dukeliness" starts to come undone. ;)
DeleteI love your casting choices...and who better than an author to choose! Please do not enter me for e-books. I would love to have a PB though. ;o)

DeleteI love Clive Owen... He's just moody-looking enough for me.... :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. =) There's just something a little uncivilized about him that I love.
DeleteI agree!!!! I think they are perfect:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Filia! =) So happy to "see" you again!
DeleteOh no, I disagree, because I want to be Charlotte! I really has this huge crush on Clive but I have to have Angie's "seductive" prowess first (sigh). But seriously, they're the perfect choice for the characters. Good job! :D
ReplyDeleteLol! Okay, Lory, just because you asked. ;) Move over, Angelina! =)
DeleteGreat casting choices! Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteThank you, April! =) And thanks for visiting with me!
DeleteThose are great acting choices.
ReplyDeleteThanks, bn100. =) Great to "see" you again!
DeleteI like Clive so he's a good choice. On the other hand, I don't care for Angelina so there would need to be a change. I haven't read the book yet so I am not sure who would work. I think I need to watch less Nick Jr and more movies.
ReplyDeleteLol! I hear you. I only wish we still had Nick Jr. We have Qubo now, and I am not really a fan. ;) I really think Natalie Portman would be my second choice for Charlotte. <3 her. =)
DeleteLove Clive Owens! Not sure about Angelina. Not a big fan of hers. I am thinking maybe Rachael Weisz. I like her so much better. Just a thought.

ReplyDeleteI have had this book in my TBR list for a while now, the story line just grabs me. I am expecting some heartache, but if it is all good in the end I think it will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteClive sure fits the role of Duke, yummy.
And as a seductress Angelina is a great choice. Well done Elise!
