Oh how I loved this story. I admit I'm a sucker for friends to lover themes and this one was great. Both characters had such great chemistry and I loved watching them together. I also liked that this book was able to make me laugh. It was cute and the relationship between Chase and Maddie was sweet.
Maddie grew up idolizing her older brothers best friend Chase and for as long as she can remember she has been in love with him. One night three years ago Maddie finally found the courage to make her move and after a heated kiss was quickly rebuffed. Ever since that night things have never been the same between Chase and Maddie. Their relationship is now tension filled and awkward. With Maddie's brother getting married and Chase being the best man, she is definitely not looking forward to the wedding and having to spend a weekend with Chase.
Chase has always regretted how things turned out with him and Maddie after they kissed three years ago. For the life of him he never wanted to hurt her but he knows no matter how much he may desire her he can never pursue his feelings. One, she is his best friend's little sister and therefore off limits. And two, he knows he will eventually hurt her like his father used to hurt his mother. He cares way too much about Maddie to ever do that to her. So he stays away even though its one of the hardest things he has ever had to do.
Now at Maddie's brothers wedding, Chase and Maddie are continuously thrown together and every time they are near one another the sparks fly. After a few heated arguments, one thing leads to another and the two are suddenly back in each others arms picking up where they left off three years ago. But this time will it last longer than just one kiss?
I loved the chemistry between Chase and Maddie. It was raw and tension filled. I loved watching them both come alive in each others arms. My only complaint is that I wish the story was longer. I definitely wasn't ready to say goodbye to Chase and Maddie. I would have liked to see a bit more from them but overall it was still very enjoyable. I hope we get to see more of the Gamble brothers in the future because I fell in love with them all. They are hilarious and I can't wait to see them get their own HEA.

This sounds like EXACTLY the kind of book I love!! I'm definitely picking it up! Thanks for such a great review!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn. I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to read the others in the series.
DeleteThis was a very good, fast and entertaining read. I loved Chase and his brother's relationship. They are all relationship phobes, but they each have a chance to show their love for each other.
ReplyDeleteMaddie's fun and slightly off beat family is wonderful and loving... The combination of all the characters make this story a treat!
