As children Charlotte and James were the best of friends but after an incident involving Charlotte's beloved pet rabbit they had a falling out and have not spoken since.
Charlotte is a troublemaker and schemer and is somehow always up to mischief, though her intentions are noble. She considers herself a matchmaker but somehow her matchmaking schemes always go awry.
James has always known that Charlotte is up to no good. She's always up to something and his plans are to stay as far away from her schemes as possible. This backfires on him when Charlotte gets him and herself locked in a Folly during a garden party. Charlotte's goal was to get James and her friend Lucy locked in the Folly, not herself. Now they both must work together and quickly before they are found in a compromising situation and forced to wed.
The hijinks these two go through throughout the novella are laugh out loud funny. Charlotte has the best of intentions but somehow something in her plans always go wrong and because of this Charlotte and James are constantly being thrown together in compromising situations. Soon both are realizing just how attracted to one another they really are.
I loved, loved, loved these two together. Their scenes together were simply hilarious and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. Not only were these two funny but their relationship and chemistry between them was explosive. These two were sexy together. Not only that, they have a bond that transcends the pages.
If you are looking for a quick read that is charming and funny, you definitely won't go wrong with this one.
