Interview with Author Roxanne St. Claire and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome back to the blog author Roxanne St. Claire. Roxanne is currently on tour promoting her newest release, Barefoot in the Rain. Roxanne was kind enough to take the time our of her busy schedule to let me ask her a few questions, but first let's get to know Roxanne a bit.

Roxanne St. Claire is a bestselling author of thirty novels of romance and suspense. A five-time nominee and one-time winner of the prestigious RITA Award for outstanding romantic fiction, her books have also won the National Reader’s Choice Award for best romantic suspense for two consecutive years, as well as the Daphne du Maurier Award, the HOLT Medallion, the Maggie, Booksellers Best, Book Buyers Best, five Awards of Excellence, the Aspen Gold and many others

Prior to launching a full time career as a novelist in 2003, Roxanne spent most of her professional life as a marketing executive and public relations consultant. She is a graduate of UCLA, an active member of several national writing organizations, and a lecturer on a wide range of writing-related topics. She lives in Satellite Beach, Florida with her husband and their two teenagers, and if you know her, you call her Rocki.

A la Twitter style, please describe Barefoot in the Rain in 140 characters or less.
Barefoot in the Rain is the story of star-crossed sweethearts who reunite only to discover that the path to true love means they have to forgive the unforgivable.

If you could switch places with any one of your characters in Barefoot in the Rain who would you chose and why?
I put the heroine of RAIN through some pretty miserable conflicts, so I can’t say I’d jump into her shoes that easily. (Maybe in the Epilogue!) Now that her friend Lacey (the heroine of Barefoot in the Sand) has found true love and is nearly finished building her dream resort on the beach, I wouldn’t mind taking her place for a few days. (And nights!) I guess I DO switch places with these characters every time I open the document and write from their point of view. That’s enough for now!

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
I’m always working on something! I just finished Barefoot in the Sun, the third book in the Barefoot Bay series, for release next spring. Right now, I’m starting Barefoot by the Sea, book four, scheduled for release in one year. I’m enjoying being immersed in the community of Barefoot Bay and the challenge of giving each of the main characters a unique story and once-in-a-lifetime romance!

They say you can never go home again . . .

When "Life Coach to the Stars" Jocelyn Bloom is embroiled in scandal, the only place she can hide is the one place she wishes she could forget. She left Barefoot Bay-and the boy next door who knew all her secrets-years ago. Now nothing about the tiny island off the coast of Florida is quite how she remembers it, especially Will Palmer. He's even more gorgeous and tempting . . . and still capable of turning her world inside out.

But what if someone is waiting for you?

To Will Palmer, Guy Bloom is more than the elderly, senile neighbor he looks after-he's the last connection to Jocelyn, the woman Will loved and lost. But the reunion with Jocelyn doesn't go smoothly. Shocked by the change in her father's personality, Jocelyn struggles to reconcile her dark childhood with the sweet, confused man who has grown close to Will. Jocelyn has guided countless clients to happiness-but can she escape the rainy days of her past for a new sunny future with Will?

  5. I do enjoy a good reunion story. I believe that many people have someone in their past that they have always wondered..."What if?"
Though I have yet to read it, The Saint by Monica McCarty, has this type of storyline.

  6. I enjoy a reunion story because people change and it is interesting to see how they react to each others changes. I like how they learn to reconcile the person they knew to the person they meat again.
