Plot Bunny!
Plot bunny: an idea that gnaws at the brain until written.
It happens when you least expect it. Someone is recounting a first date gone bad. Plot bunny! The atmosphere in a restaurant would be the perfect setting for a break-up scene in a book. Plot bunny!
The song lyric, “You already know how this will end,” suddenly becomes the words coming out of a character’s mouth that doesn’t even exist. Or do they? Yes…*grabs pen* yes, they do. Perhaps the hero saying those words is tall, but not so tall that the heroine needs a ladder to kiss him. And oh, oh, the heroine, she’s got a rocky past. Scratch that. The hero and heroine have a rocky past. Because they used to be lovers. That’s why she already knows ‘how it will end’! Oh, this is good. Names, names…I’ll just decide on their names and then I’ll stop. Calvin…no way. Caspian. Oooooh…he’s Nordic!
That, at least for me, is how plot bunnies form. They pop up out of the ground and wave their furry little paw at you. Just take a few notes. It won’t hurt. Otherwise you might forget about me! I have a pink nose!
But…*now I’m talking to an imaginary bunny*…what about that sequel my editor is waiting for?
::Caspian::
Cut to a week later when I’ve written eight chapters, fallen behind on my other projects and forgot my own name since I’ve been so focused on Caspian. There is an upside here! I truly believe some of the best ideas drop into your head out of the clear blue sky. They don’t have time to be plotted out because the story is all there in your noggin and you just need to keep typing until you’ve told it. It can be very satisfying. It can also keep you up at night =)
Mystery and intrigue surround Halloween night as friends unwittingly become lovers, enemies surrender to long-hidden desires, and the heat of passion threatens to consume them all…
Danielle has a plan—use the company Halloween party to seduce the sexy mail guy who works a few floors up who she’s been meeting for coffee for the past few months. The only problem? He’s not who she thinks he is, and he has seduction plans of his own.
Smoking hot firefighter Smith has had his eyes on Jamie for years, but she’d rather see him spontaneously combust than go on a date. Incognito at her bar’s Halloween party, Smith seizes his chance to make all her fantasies come true.
Kindergarten teachers aren’t known for breaking the rules, but Steph is ready to go undercover—and get under the covers—to work her magic on her best friend, Landon. Sexy costume necessary, multiple orgasms crucial, real identity optional.
When Stacy discovers her sex-on-a-stick ex at her Hollywood Halloween blow-out, she decides to show the cocky homicide detective exactly what he’s been missing. But she’s not the only one plotting revenge, and Ian’s the only one who can save her.
Enjoy your tricks and treats in this sexy anthology featuring bestselling authors Katee Robert, Cari Quinn, Tessa Bailey, and Samanthe Beck.
