Beverley discovered her love of books while growing up in, the then, small city of Barrie, Ontario Canada. With her love of books and romance, she always wished that everyone would find their happily ever after. Add in her love of London, England set in a period when ladies strived to be genteel and dresses could barely fit through doors, and it was obvious she could write nothing but historical romances.
As the mother of one too bright and mischievous young boy, she pulls full-time duty on all fronts. When she's not working full-time, mothering, writing or reading, she's probably sleeping and dreaming of a time when she'll have time for her favorite hobbies: knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Beverley has lived on two continents, in three countries, two provinces, and four states. She stopped her nomadic existence and settled in the southeast. All things artistic feed her creative passion, but none more than writing.

In deciding which of my many favorite couples I was going to chat briefly about, the first thing I had to do was narrow down to a romance subgenre. Since I’ve been reading contemporary and historical romances for what seems like forever, I opted to go with my newest favorite subgenre, which is new adult.
Trying to narrow it down even further was definitely challenging. So I simply went with the book I gave the last 5 star review to. Drum roll please…
Now I’m going to give you the top 5 reasons I loved this book so darn much.
1. Harrison “Scorching Hot” Yates – If I fall hard for the hero, that pretty much means the book is going on my keeper shelf.
2. Samantha Yates – She’s not a “perfect” heroine and Desrochers does a wonderful job making the reader love her with all her obvious flaws. I also love it that she’s not a doormat.
3. The Twist – Holy “throw me a curveball” Batman. The twist in this book is fan-frickin-tastic. It left me practically hyperventilating.
4. The Tension – Sexual. I don’t think I really need to say more.
5. The Suspense – I’m not big on romantic suspense so the fact that I loved this book so much is a testament to how well Desrochers wove this element into the story without taking anything away from the sexy-as-hell romance.

From USA Today bestselling author Lisa Desrochers, comes the third book in her sizzling New Adult series.
If you play with fire…
Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.
Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.
Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

They say there is a thin line between love and hate. This is what happens when that line is crossed.
College freshman Olivia Montgomery is thrilled at the chance to start over, escape the rumors that plagued her in high school. Now she can't shake her unwanted attraction to the one guy who can twist her stomach into knots with just a smile...but has never given her the time of day.
Zach’s good looks may have always gotten him his pick of girls, but it's the star quarterback’s skill on the football field that gives him his pick of the Big Ten colleges. To escape the crushing demands of his win-at-all-costs father, Zach opts for a private university in upstate New York where...his present and past collide. And the one girl he’s always wanted but can’t have—and a class trip to Paris—turn out to be the ultimate game changer that has him breaking every one of his rules.

I love Daniel and Aubrey from Georgina Guthrie's The Weight of Words. I enjoy their longing and chemistry, and Daniel's such a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the post and giveaway! Fingers crossed. :-)
I love Mercy & Adam from the Mercy Thompson series. Adam is an Alpha Werewolf and Mercy is a Coyote Shifter, but they work well together. Mercy knows her weaknesses and is willing to let Adam help her, but Adam isn't over-the-top in control. I like their balance.
ReplyDeleteI can't pick just one couple. There are so many for me. I love a couple that will challenge each other, protect, care and be possessive and there has to be sexual tension between them. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of favs too but I'd have to say that Kate and Curran are at the top of my list. They have great chemistry and witty banter :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love Beverley Kendall's books. I only wish she could write faster!
ReplyDeleteHi, Beverley! I don't have any specific favorite couple. I love a hero who is hot, nice, protective, loving, and challenging to his heroine. I love a heroine who is feisty, challenging to her hero, nice, and protective.
ReplyDeleteI love Eva and Gideon. What makes a good relationship that I want to read about is the connection between the couple. They have to be equals and so in love with eachother that they just cannot get enough of eachother
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to choose just one, but one of the things that make a good book couple for me is the emotional connection between the characters. To just have a physical connection is not enough for me. They need to be "together" on a much deeper level.
ReplyDeleteIan and Beth MacKenzie from The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie is my favorite couple because of the things Ian had to change and adjust to to become the man he wanted to be for Beth. Beth because of her understanding of Ian's problems.
ReplyDeleteBella & Zsadist from BDB are my favorite couple! The way he found himself and a will to live after meeting her were completely swoon-worthy! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love couples that make sense together because they fit like puzzle pieces. I like it the most when they start out seeming like each other's nightmares and end up each other's perfect match like Mac and Barrons in Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series.
ReplyDeleteI can't pick a favorite couple, but I love when their chemistry sizzles and they can be vulnerable with each other.
ReplyDeleteMarcy Shuler
I have a few favorites & it's the banter & electricity that I love.
ReplyDeleteI love the tension, that's probably what does a couple for me ;)
ReplyDeleteI have many favorite book couples. I like chemistry.
ReplyDeleteThe way they treat each other
ReplyDeleteI like when couples get to know each other.....I'm not a fan of the insta-loves.
ReplyDeletethe chemistry!
