Tessa Bailey has done it again with Risking it All! Tessa is the queen of dirty talking heroes and feisty heroines and I always know that when I start a new book of hers that it will instantly become a favorite of mine. I couldn't put this book down, and I had to keep reading to get more of sexy Bowen.
Seraphina Newsom is determined to avenge her brother's death and will stop at nothing to put his murderer behind bars. Sera decides to go undercover despite her uncle's warnings, thinking that as a detective that she can get to him the way others have been unable to. But when Sera finds herself in a dangerous situation after hearing too much, she begins to wonder if she will make it out. Bowen Driscol has been around crime his whole life and has been able to avoid being put behind bars. When he is picked up by the NYPD and they offer to give him his freedom in exchange for his help, he is quick to say no. Then they show him a picture of Sera and tell him how she has been put in danger, and he knows that he needs to do whatever he can to help her. But with Bowen not being able to tell Sera which side he is really on, things soon become complicated and they are both left wondering who they can trust. As Sera and Bowen grow closer, they both must decide where they stand and if they can risk everything for the connection they have found in each other.
I absolutely loved Bowen. He was beyond sexy , and every bit the bad boy that you can't help but want though you know you shouldn't. But Bowen was also protective and and would do absolutely anything for Sera. His love for her was never ending, and he loved her even when he feared that she would be his downfall. Bowen wanted the best for Sera always, and went out of his way to try and keep everything bad away from her. Sera was strong and smart, and I loved that she was so feisty. She wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted, and had no problem standing up to others. She put Bowen in his place when he needed it, but she was also so supportive and encouraging. She showed him what it was like to love someone and I really enjoyed seeing how they were able to lean on one another. Bowen and Sera had so much chemistry and the attraction between them was off the charts! If you love dirty talkers that can melt your panties right off, Bowen is the man for you!
Overall, another fantastic read from Tessa Bailey. Tessa Bailey continues to prove what a great writer she is and I love her stories and characters. Her writing style is so easy to get into, that I find the rest of the world falling away as I read. Tessa has become a go-to author for me when I am looking for something sexy and steamy with a great story behind all the action. If you aren't reading Tessa Bailey's books, you are seriously missing out. Her heroes and heroines are impossible not to fall in love with, and you will find yourself rooting for them beyond the last page. I can't wait for more from Tessa Bailey in the future, and at this point it is safe to say that I would literally read anything that she writes!
