ARC Review: Something Unexpected by Vi Keeland

I have been a Vi Keeland fan for years, so much so that I don’t even read the blurbs for her books anymore, I just know whatever she writes I am going to read and love! Something Unexpected was no exception, though I will say that this book definitely lived up to it’s name! While I loved the book, this is not what I have come to know and love from Vi Keeland’s past books. It was so well written and something I hadn’t anticipated from her, and it had me unable to put it down!

I won’t go into details, as I truly believe this one is best gone into blind. What I will say though is that I loved the characters and the story from start to finish. Beck and Nora were total opposites in a lot of ways, yet there was so much chemistry and tension between them and I couldn’t stop flipping pages!

I highly recommend this book! Not only is the writing fantastic, but the characters are so easy to like and root for. I found them all so interesting, including the side characters! Vi Keeland never disappoints, and while this one felt different than her previous books, it was just as good if not better! Her writing just continues to draw me in every time and make me fall in love with the world and characters she has created. This one was great, and I loved the message here. Something Unexpected was a one of a kind read and I am so glad that I went on this journey with Beck and Nora. Highly recommend this one to fans of Vi’s and new readers alike!

ARC Review: Huck by Lulu Moore

I am a huge sports romance fan and had previously read and enjoyed The Third Baseman by Lulu Moore, so I was excited to read Huck, the newest installment in her New York Players series. This book is a part of a series of interconnected standalones and can be read without having read the previous books in the series.

Huck is the newly appointed Captain and one of the star players for New York and he just so happens to be interested in the coach’s daughter Nora. But everyone knows that you don’t date the coach’s daughter, especially not when she also works for the team. Nora and Huck had a ton of chemistry and it was easy to see that these two were so into each other.

While I liked this one, I struggled a bit to feel connected to the characters. I liked them well enough, but I just didn’t feel invested in their story. Besides Nora’s dad the coach, I felt like things were very easy and there wasn’t a lot of depth here. I found myself trying to not skim a lot because I just wasn’t as into the story as I would have liked. I will say though that Abbey stole the show! Loved her and also the relationship she had with Huck, Brogan and Carter. They were so much fun and honestly the highlights of this book for me. I think readers that have read previous books in this series will enjoy seeing familiar faces and if you are a fan of hockey romance, definitely give this one a shot. It was a quick and easy read, and I think a lot of readers will like this world that Lulu Moore has created.

ARC Review: The Bachelor by Marni Mann

The Bachelor is the 5th book in the Dalton Family series by Marni Mann and I absolutely loved it! Each book in this series features a different member of the Dalton family, so they can be read as standalones. I definitely recommend reading all of them though as this series is so good and has easily become one of my all-time favorites!

Camden and Oaklyn’s story drew me in from the first page and I was immediately hooked! I didn’t want to put this one down and wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for real life getting in the way! Camden and Oakly were sexy and I loved the heat and chemistry between them. It was also their undeniable connection that I loved getting more of. These two had always been drawn to one another, but due to Camden’s sister/Oaklyn’s best friend Hannah, there was always the element of it being forbidden. Seeing how things grew and evolved was what kept me flipping pages and wanting to make this one last but also see how everything turned out.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this book, and while I’ve loved the whole series, this book might just overtake Jenner & Jo’s story as being my favorite! Camden was just so amazing, and I loved how his character changed and how all in he was! If you are only going to pick up one book in this series, this one should be it! Again, I highly recommend all of them, but The Bachelor was fantastic! I can’t wait for the Hooked series coming up from Marni Mann, you get a small peek here at some of the characters and I am so excited to get more!

ARC Review: Weak Side by SJ Sylvis

Weak Side was my first book by SJ Sylvis and I absolutely loved it! I was hooked from the very first page and didn’t want to put this one down. Weak Side is the first book in the Bexley U series, with each book being a standalone story about interconnected characters. I already can’t wait for the next book!

Theo and Claire were everything! These two were great, and I loved them right away. What starts out as a mistake quickly turns to more and these two find themselves helping each other out by fake dating. I loved their banter and couldn’t get enough of how things between them grew and evolved the more they got to know one another. I also really loved the side characters and honestly I am so excited to get each of their books!

I highly recommend this one for fans of all genres, but especially those that love sports romance. This book was just so good and I honestly cannot say enough about the characters and story. I will definitely be reading more from SJ Sylvis in the future! This one is a must read!

ARC Review: The Rules of Dating My Best Friend's Sister by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward

I couldn’t wait to get Holden’s story after reading The Rules of Dating by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. You do not need to read The Rules of Dating to understand this story, but I do think that you get a great experience and some background on the characters if you do read it before reading The Rules of Dating My Best Friend’s Sister. This one was really enjoyable, and I already can’t wait to get more of these guys!

Holden and Lala had known each other for so long as Holden was best friends with Lala’s brother Ryan. They had a connection that went beyond that though and it was there from the start. These two had a ton of chemistry between them, but I loved that it was so much deeper than that. At first glance, these two didn’t have a lot in common. Holden was a musician that had a past full of girls, while Lala was smart and more focused on her future and career and had only been with a few guys. But even though it didn’t appear to make much sense, these two complimented each other so well and I loved seeing them circle one another.

The one thing that kept this book from being a five star read for me though was Lala. I struggled a bit with her at times. She made a lot of judgments about Holden that I wasn’t quite sure where they came from if she truly knew him. Luckily, things didn’t drag though and these two were able to communicate in a way that I liked. The one thing I absolutely love about these books besides the couples is the fact that the friend group is so strong. They would do literally anything for one another and I just love them all. I can’t wait for the next book, and I recommend reading both this and Colby’s book before as they are great stories! Holden and Lala’s book was enjoyable and a great addition to this world. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are some of my favorite authors, and you can’t go wrong with anything they write!
