Mandi lives two lives. One at home with a hubs and two boys. Another surrounded by romantic happily ever afters and sometimes if she is feeling daring, a dangerous urban fantasy world. She has collected numerous fictional boyfriends along the way that keep her quite busy. While she has many favorite authors, on her auto-buy list currently are Courtney Milan, Cara McKenna, Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, KA Mitchell, Jim Butcher and Kaki Warner....just to name a few.

When the girls asked me to cast one of my favorite books with celebrities, my eyes landed right on A Lot Like Love by Julie James. Who can resist a sexy man in a suit? I sure can’t. Nick McCall is a FBI undercover agent who is not only great at his job, but has the charm and sexy good looks to woo the ladies. But Jordan Rhodes, who owns a wine bar (automatic favorite heroine) is a hard one to woo.
No contest for our sexy man in a suit. I introduce you to Nick McCall.
Oh Jon Hamm. He can wear a suit like no one else. And I bet under that suit looks pretty damn fine too. I can see him being a charming FBI agent, yes? I would do something illegal just so he could hunt me down.
Jordan has long blonde hair, and is a billionaire’s daughter, so she has access to expensive things.
Yes, I can see Reese Witherspoon battling Mr. Hamm in this romance. She has the billionaire look down, yet still has that girl next door vibe that Jordan portrays in the book. A Lot Like Love is not only a sexy contemporary, but has witty banter and wonderful supporting characters.
Who would you cast as Nick and Jordan? Leave a comment to win a copy of A Lot Like Love. Open to all.
THE FBI WANTS HER COOPERATION.
As the daughter of a billionaire and the owner of the city’s top wine store, Jordan Rhodes is invited to the most exclusive parties in Chicago. But there’s only one party the FBI wants to crash: the charity fundraiser of a famous restaurateur, who also happens to launder money for the mob. In exchange for her brother’s release from prison, Jordan is going to be there—with a date supplied by the Bureau.
AGENT MCCALL JUST WANTS HER.
As the top undercover agent in Chicago, Nick McCall has one rule: never get personal. This “date” with Jordan Rhodes is merely an assignment—one they’re both determined to pull off even if they can’t be together for five minutes before the sarcasm and sparks begin to fly. But when Nick’s investigation is compromised, he and Jordan have no choice but to pretend they’re a couple, and what starts out as a simple assignment begins to feel a lot like something more. . .

I've not read this story before, but I really like Mandi's choices. The cover even works out perfectly for those choices too.

I haven't read the story so I don't have a clear picture in my head of what the MC's should look like. Maybe Dianna Agron (?sp) from Glee for Jordan? She does the rich girl thing pretty well. :)
ReplyDeletei will say i agreed with your choice again =D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this serie yet but she is on my wishlist after a lot of good recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI think your choice are perfect. I have difficulties with american authors ( i don't know the name etc)so it's difficult for me to find other idea. For this one though... i think Yannick Bisson would be a great choice too
all the best and thanks you for the international giveaway
I am not into celebs much so I have no idea. Would love to read the books though.
ReplyDeleteI like your choices... :) Reese is one of my favorite actresses...
ReplyDeleteHello Chicks!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday before Easter, and hoping you will have a great Easter, too :D
Mandi, I've never read the book, [which now I really hope to win-I mean its setting is in my own city of the Wind!] but with such a great book blurb, and your description aided with the casting pics, my imagination went on a trip...
Here's who I would cast as the FBI agent hero...Keanu Reeves :)
For his rich heroine, I think a blonde Rachel McAdams would be perfect :)
What do you think?
You're blog, ROCKS!
Mel
You can't go wrong with Don Draper lol
ReplyDeleteLove him... and I agree with Melanie...Rachel McAdams is beautiful.
Happy Easter everyone!!
I am biased because I love Jed Hill on the cover so that is who I picture as Nick McCall. But I love your choice for Jordan!!! She's perfect!

love your picks dont change them butterfli262002@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ann. Jed Hill would be perfect as Nick, and Reese is perfect as Jordan.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!

I think your choices are perfect. Nothing bets Hamm and Witherspoon.

Nice choices Smexy. I would think Nick could also be played by Matt Bomer. But yay for Hamm and Reese!
ReplyDeletebas1chsemail at gmail dot com
I haven't had a chance to read the book yet the choices up top look like great picks. hmmm Cameron Diaz is another good choice for rich and girl next door combined.

Thanks for the fun post and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book cuz apparently I live under a rock, but I love your "cast". Maybe Charlize Theron as the heroine and maybe Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery from Grey's Anatomy) just cuz he is soooo pretty
I think Mandi's choices are great, I'd love to see that movie! I think another man who can rock a suit is Matt Bomer, and Reese Witherspoon seems like a perfect Jordan.
ReplyDeleteWell, I haven't read that book yet, but I love Reese, so I approve!
ReplyDeleteI love your choices, thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI do like Reese Witherspoon, but I would like to see Matthew McConaughey in an FBI suit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity!
Reese is a perfect choice. She's beautiful and elegant. How about Thomas Gibson from Criminal Minds for the male lead? He wears a suit very well.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the amazing giveaway!
elizabeth @ bookattict . com
I like Reese but I would cast Nathan Fillian as the male lead!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch a lot of television or movies, so I could not say.

i will say i agreed with your choice, thanks for chance to win :D
ReplyDeleteReese Witherspoon sure is cute but I could very well see Rachel McAdams as a sophisticated billionaire's daughter-wine bar owner and as for the sexy FBI hunk I would cast either Hugh Jackman or Henry Cavill (alltime favourite dreamman ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance Mandi and have a great Easter weekend!
stella.exlibris (at) gmail (dot) com
I agree with these choices. Reese would do a good job.
ReplyDeleteIt appears you already have a winning combination! They would be great based on the character descriptions. Thank you for the giveaway and sharing this information! Adding to the TBR List!

I agree with Reese Witherspoon, but I think Jon Hamm is too old for the role. He's nearing 40 and i believe Nick is probably around 30. My choice would be Liam Hemsworth
ReplyDeletepenfield716(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
Even though I haven't read this book yet. Don and Reese would be great to picture in the roles. Great choices by the way.
ReplyDeleteCarol L.

I know they might be a bit young for the casting call but I think Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson would be great cast as Nick and Jordan.
ReplyDeleteNice picks Smexy! I like Reese as the girl pick, but I would pick Henry Cavill (he can look very tempting in a suit).
ReplyDeleteI agree with your pick of Reese Witherspoon, but I think Jon Hamm is a bit too old for the role. Kyle is in his mid-30s and I think Jon Hamm is in his 40s.
ReplyDeletepenfield716(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
I haven't read the book (though I really want to!), but I love Reese Witherspoon picture. She totally looks like a bilionaire's daughter, and I know she can be really nice and likeable too. Thanks!
