Today I am happy to welcome back to RFTC one of my most favorite people, author Juliana Stone. Juliana is celebrating the release of Collide, book 2 in her Barker Triplets series and has stopped by today to chat. Please give Juliana a warm welcome.
Juliana Stone's love of the written word and 80's rock, have inspired her in more ways than one. She writes dark paranormal romance as well as Contemporary Romance and spends her days navigating a busy life that includes, a husband, kids, a dog and a cat.
Places to find Juliana:
What is it about reunited lovers that we love so much? Is it because the promise of young love gone bad makes us want to root for them? Is it that we love second chances? I think so. This is a romance trope that I love.
In my latest release, Collide, my two main characters, Bobbi and Shane are reunited lovers. They’re reunited lovers with a truck load of baggage and this is where these types of books get really interesting for me. It’s the history between them that fuels the angst, the want and need and the desire. It’s the history that makes them interesting.
In Collide, Bobbi and Shane were young and in love and reckless. Reckless with their passion, their feelings and their hurt. They weren’t equipped to deal with the intense emotions each brought out in the other and a lot of that old anger and hurt was carried around into their adulthood.
So when they meet again, boy do the fireworks go off. Each of them will have to work through a lot—admit to past mistakes—in order to get to where they need to be for each other. I have to be honest, as an author it’s totally fun to write these kinds of books. Especially for me because I do like to torture my characters.
To celebrate the release of book 2 in my , Collide, I’ll gift either a copy of Collide or the forthcoming book, Conceal which will be available in May. All you have to do is tell me which is your favorite reunited couple and this can be in either television or books. If you don’t have one, let me know which characters you’d love to see reunited!
A second chance never looked so good…
Bobbi-Jo Barker has been in love with the wrong man for years. A man who doesn’t fit into the perfect, controlled life she’s created.A man who, once, not only broke her heart but nearly destroyed her. So the fact that he’s back in town shouldn’t matter because he’s all wrong for her, or so she thinks…
Shane Gallagher, prodigal son and all around hellion, has returned to the small town of New Waterford not only to mend fences, but to get his life back together. What he doesn’t count on are the feelings he still has for the one woman who can break him—the one who still holds his heart—the one woman who is totally wrong for him.
And yet, as Bobbi and Shane are thrown together and begin to navigate a life with each other in it, neither can deny the attraction they feel, or the emotions that come with it—the good and the bad. And so the question becomes… can these two damaged souls survive a second chance at love?

I'm at odds on how to answer this question. I don't have a favorite reunited couple, but the last book I read that had that trope and loved is Molly O'Keefe's Crazy Thing Called Love. That book was just phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteMolly is a good friend and an awesome writer! good call!
DeleteThanks! Great minds think alike! :)
DeleteI have to say the first couple that popped into my head was Rachel and Ross from Friends. Book wise hum, the most recent one I read and really liked with Juliana and Logan from Alpha One <3
ReplyDeleteI love this series and Juliana's writing. I am dying for Conceal. I loved both Offside & absolutely loved Collide. I loved Bobbi-Jo and Shane(yummy tattoos). My favorite reunited couple would have to be in One Foot in the Grave when Cat & Bones got back together. I loved when he was romancing her and taking her out on dates. Especially when they went to the restaurant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteAlexia and Lord Macon in the Parasol Protectorate series!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going old school - I love Anne and Captain Wentworth from Jane Austen's Persuasion!
ReplyDeleteActually, my favorite Re-United couple isn't fictional -- it's real. My daughter & her daughter's father. 16 yr old and high school boyfriend - have child. Each marries another, hs boyfriend has another child. When first child is 12, daughter & hs sweetheart married (& then his 2nd child comes to live with them). that first child, my grandchild, is now 21!
ReplyDeleteEmma and Knightley from Jane Austen's Emma. Though they were not romantically united until the end of the novel, I've always viewed their banter back and forth throughout the novel as foreplay in way of relationships.
ReplyDeleteFrom my most recent read is Keri and Joe from Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was Genny and Steve from Rosemary Rogers Sweet Savage Love series.
ReplyDeleteAnne and Captain Wentworth, definitely :)
ReplyDeleteQuestions like this always make my mind go blank. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow about the Marquess of Bourne and Lady Penelope Marbury from Sarah MacLean's A ROGUE BY ANY OTHER NAME. They were childhood friends and were reunited years later.
