Interview with Author Elisabeth Naughton and Giveaway

Today I would like to once again welcome back to RFTC author, Elisabeth Naughton. Elisabeth is celebrating her upcoming release of Bound and has stopped by to answer a few questions. Please give Elisabeth a warm welcome.

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Elisabeth Naughton writes sexy romantic adventures and paranormal novels full time from her home in western Oregon where she lives with her husband and three children. Her work has been nominated for numerous awards, including the prestigious RITA© awards by Romance Writers of America, the Australian Romance Reader Awards, the Golden Leaf and the Golden Heart. When not writing, Elisabeth can be found running, hanging out at the ballpark or dreaming up new and exciting adventures.

Places to find Elisabeth:

First off, can you tell us a bit about you?
I’m a New York Times bestselling author who writes both romantic suspense and paranormal novels. BOUND is the 6th book in my bestselling Eternal Guardians series and releases on March 26, 2013.

A la Twitter style, please describe your book (or series) in 140 characters or less.
Which is more important...duty and honor, or true love?

What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
I prefer writing action scenes to almost anything else. I love to READ deep, emotional books but the emotional stuff (and no, I’m not just talking about sex here) is a lot of work to write. Though I seem to gravitate to writing those as well...

What are the things that influence you the most as a writer?
Music. By and far the most influential thing to my writing is music. I get a lot of ideas from song lyrics and make soundtracks for my books when I’m writing them, which I then listen to over and over to get into my characters heads.

What are some of your favorite characteristics to find in a hero?
Strong, sexy, good looking...obviously. But the most important characteristic to me is probably protective. My guys are all very protective of the women they love. They would give up everything for them...even their lives.

Tell me, is there anything that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I didn’t plan to be a writer. In fact, it never even crossed my mind until I was in my thirties. Fate had other plans for me.

If you could live inside any book, which one would you choose and why?
I can’t pick just one! I love way too many books, stories and genres to narrow it down to one.

If you could spend the day in the shoes of any of your characters, who would you choose and why?
Hm...tough question. Since I tend to torture my characters in various ways, I’m not sure I want to be any of them! LOL. I think maybe the Fate Lachesis. She knows everything and she’d more powerful than any god in my Eternal Guardians series.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could bring only three items, what would you bring and why?
My laptop, a power source, and my ipod. (I am a product of technology. No idea how people lived before these things.)

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
I am currently working on two books...the sequel to my bestselling romantic suspense WAIT FOR ME, and the 7th book in my Eternal Guardians series.

What are your favorite characteristics in a hero?

TITUS—To most his gift seems like a blessing, but for him it’s a curse the other Eternal Guardians—those who protect the mortal realm from threats of the Underworld—seek to exploit. One he would gladly trade for the chance to be free…

Obsessed. Her touch is like a drug. From the moment he met her, Titus knew she was different. Even dangerous. Yet though his guardian brethren are convinced Natasa is working for Hades, Titus can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop fantasizing about her. Can’t stop craving the one thing he knows could lead to the downfall of his world.

Possessed. Faced with stopping Natasa or joining in her quest, Titus falls to temptation and is thrust into a world of lust, deception, and deadly treachery designed by the gods. Her touch—only hers—frees him from his bonds, but desire may just condemn him. Because before the end he’ll have to decide which is more important: duty and honor to those he took an oath to defend, or a woman who could very well be the biggest curse to them all.

  38. For me a hero needs to be loyal and passionate! Those are two of the most important qualities that they need to have. However a good sense of humor never hurts!!
