Hi, everyone! Happy Spring!
It is such a pleasure to be here with you today—and I sure am excited to talk about one of my very favorite topics…Book Boyfriends. Come on, confess, we all have them—heroes that we just love. The guys that slip into our dreams. The guys that we sure wish could appear in reality.
If only!
I’ve got a top ten Book Boyfriend list that I wanted to share. Maybe some of these guys are your book boyfriends, too!
10. Lachlain MacRieve from Kresley Cole’s A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER. I just love a guy with a bit of the beast inside.
9. Baron Duncan of Wexton from Julie Garwood’s HONOR’S SPLENDOR. I know it’s an oldie—a classic!—but I adore this hero. I’d warm his feet. ;)
(Tell me someone else remembers that scene!)
8. Dane Hollister from Linda Howard’s DREAM MAN. Sexy detective.Just…sexy.
7. Eidolon from Larissa Ione’s PLEASURE UNBOUND. He had me at doctor.
6. Merrick de Beaucourt from Jill Barnett’s WONDERFUL. I so enjoy it when a hero proves his worth—and his love.
5. Nick Chastain from Jayne Castle’s ZINNIA. Two words: Psychic Vampire.
4. Roarke from, well, *every* JD Robb book. I love me some Roarke.
3. Layel from Gena Showalter’s THE VAMPIRE’S BRIDE. Did I mention that I have a thing for vampires? No, then maybe you should see #2 below…
2. Dracula. Yes, I just went there.
1. Wesley from…THE PRINCESS BRIDE. He could say “As you wish” to me all day long!
Now that I’ve shared my list with you—tell me, who are your fave book boyfriends? Are any on my list?
Thanks so much for checking out my post!
What happens when the most beautiful girl in the world marries the handsomest prince of all time and he turns out to be...well...a lot less than the man of her dreams?
As a boy, William Goldman claims, he loved to hear his father read the S. Morgenstern classic, The Princess Bride. But as a grown-up he discovered that the boring parts were left out of good old Dad's recitation, and only the "good parts" reached his ears.
Now Goldman does Dad one better. He's reconstructed the "Good Parts Version" to delight wise kids and wide-eyed grownups everywhere.
What's it about? Fencing. Fighting. True Love. Strong Hate. Harsh Revenge. A Few Giants. Lots of Bad Men. Lots of Good Men. Five or Six Beautiful Women. Beasties Monstrous and Gentle. Some Swell Escapes and Captures. Death, Lies, Truth, Miracles, and a Little Sex.
In short, it's about everything.

Two of your book boyfriends are on my list Linda Howard's Dream Man and Wesley from the Princess Bride. Another set of my book boyfriends are Katie Ashley's Aidan from The Proposal love him and Jake Slater from Music of My Heart. Both are dysfunctional heroes but with redeeming qualities.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do so enjoy dysfunctional heroes with those redeeming qualities! They are the most interesting ones!
DeleteDon't guess I have any favorite book boyfriends. And no, don't think I've met any of yours.
ReplyDeleteI usually like the men in the books I read, but once the book is put down, the man goes away.
If you ever meet them, I hope you like them! ;)
DeleteOh, I love Roarke...he is the one...And of course any of Marie Force's "men" will do also
ReplyDeleteI have been a Roarke fan since that first book!
DeleteThe only one I know is Wesley from The Princess Bride. I haven't read the book, but the first time I saw the movie, I completely fell in love with him! Thank you for the chance to win a copy and a copy of your book as well. It sounds really good !! Adding to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteI just love it when he says, "As you wish!"
DeleteI'd absolutely warm Baron Duncan of Wexton's feet any day... too bad Madelyne beat me to it! :P

DeleteI love me some Eidolon! The only Dracula that I am crushing on these days is Vlad from the Night Huntress series. You did have some on there that I had not heard of so I checked them out. Thanks
ReplyDeleteVlad is a great one to add!
DeleteI am so not surprised Cynthia said Dracula. Wesley is a good choice from The Princess Bride, too! My book boyfriend of Cynthia's hands down has got to be Sammael from Angel Betrayed and her other Fallen books. Love that crazy Angel! I have a ton of others, but will keep it all about Sam this time around. :)
ReplyDeleteGo, Sammael! ;)
DeleteWow! Great choice. I love the book (and movie) of The Princess Bride.
ReplyDeleteI might just have to watch that movie *again* tonight.
DeleteJ.D. Robb's Roarke is my go to when I am in need of a good book boyfriend check. I haven't had a chance to read your others, with the exception of Dracula, so I will have to add them to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteHe is a great go-to guy!
DeleteOoooh... I love Roarke... and Westley is another favorite. :) Would probably add Darcy too...
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them!!

DeleteLove Wesley! But my favorite book boyfriends are Rhage and Vishous from the BDB series!!
ReplyDeleteGreat guys!
DeleteNora Roberts' Justin Blade from the MacGregor series!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice!

ReplyDeleteI love Roarke; he was my first book boyfriend. I have to say I love Lucien and Gabriel from the Carpathian Series by Christine Feehan. Fury, Fang, and Acheron from the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, love them. But my favorite book boyfriend is Porter Caldwell from No One to Trust by Katie Reus.
ReplyDeleteI love Lucien and Gabriel, too! They are 2 of my fave re-reads. ;)
DeleteADORE Lachlain - as you wish Wesley - any of Larissa Ione's hunky Demon - I was into Wraith - the vampire brother -
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
DeleteI don't share any from your list, but I do love a couple from your books. I have horrible crushes on Cade & Jace from your Bound series. I sure do love an alpha werewolf. I also have always had a huge crush on Vishous from BDB and Bones & Vlad from the Night Huntress series. Okay, so I guess we share Dracula-Vlad from your list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
Thank you so much for including my werewolves! ;)
DeleteAhhh... Wesley, Roarke and Duncan! That's all I need :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, me, too!
DeleteNone of them are on my book boyfriend list because most of them are on my tbr pile. Some of my book boyfriends are Jericho Barrons (Karen Marie Moning's Fever series), Cord McKay (Lorelei James' Rough Rider series), Rhage and Zsadist (JR Ward's BDB series), Circenn, Drustan, Dageus, Cian (Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series), Reyes Farrow (Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your boyfriends!
DeleteWow did you pick some great ones! I'd add Rory from Monica mccarty's Highland Warrior, I'd add Lucas from Never Cry Wolf, and Adam Black from Karen Marie Moning's Immortal Highlander
ReplyDelete:) Thanks for adding Lucas!
DeleteI have many favorite book boyfriends :)
ReplyDeleteAren't they great to have?
DeleteI don't have a formal list of book boyfriends, but some of my favorites are on your list. I love Wesley! I <3 the Princess Bride, but he is out of this world! And the Baron Duncan! We might have to fight over who gets to warm his feet. That is my favorite scene from that book.
ReplyDeleteI have got to pull out my Princess Bride DVD.
DeleteOh gosh I forgot about Wesley <3 he was always swoon worthy..
ReplyDeleteMy favorites humm
I love Reyes from The Charley Davidson series, dark, dangerous and sexy as hell
I liked Adam from The Baby Bargain recently as well, cause he was also protective and just awesome
Go, Wesley!
DeleteEidolon and Lachlain are a good choice. Love them, too. But I would also add Hawke from Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh and Lothaire by Kresley Cole.
ReplyDeleteExcellent additions!
DeleteOf course Westley! I forget about him. My other book boyfriends are Bones from the Night Huntress series, Jericho Barrons from the Fever series, Nick Allegrezza from Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson, and almost every alpha male that Kristen Ashley dreams up!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
DeleteRoarke from JD Robbs' IN DEATH series. Yummy!!! Irish, sensitive, sexy, rich, and faithful!!
ReplyDeleteI think you had me at Irish.
DeleteI love that you have a Top 10! :)
ReplyDeleteI also have Lachlain MacRieve and Wesley on my list. A few of my favorites are (in no particular order because they're all yummy) Kresley Cole's Aiden/Declan, Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor guys, Lori Foster's Dare MacIntosh, and of course, I have to include Luke Dante from your Deadly Series. He's the reason I started reading all of your books!
LOL, it was hard narrowing down to just top 10! And thank you for mentioning Luke! ;)
DeleteRoarke, and Lachlain or both on my list, and of course Wesley. I think he's most of ours first book boyfriends. :)
ReplyDeleteWesley is like our gateway boyfriend. He gets us all addicted to the romance!
DeleteI like Vlad in Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing such great things about him!
DeleteWe have a couple of BF's in common. Duncan from Honor's Splendor, and Dane from Dream Man. They were just great....yummy. I just started a Bit of a Bite and I love it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're enjoying it!
DeleteIan MacKenzie from Jennifer Ashley's The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie.
ReplyDeleteThat book is on my TBR list!
DeleteThree of mine are: Wraith Seminus (Larissa Ione's Denomica), Maddox (Gena Showalter LOTU) and Niol (You ;)).
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous 3!
DeleteHa, I totally remember that foot warming scene in Honor's Splendor. I loved that book and Duncan. :)
ReplyDeleteThat scene has always stayed with me.
DeleteLove Dane Hollister from 'Dream Man!' He's an alpha, ALPHA!
ReplyDeleteI also love Jamie for Outlander, Travis from Beautiful Disaster, Eric Northman from The Sookie Stackhouse novels.
mestith at gmail dot com
I love, LOVE Eric!
DeleteAcheron from Dark Hunters , Wrath from black dagger brotherhood , Lucien from Lords Of The Underworld to name a few but there are many many more lol.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great guys!
DeleteWow! Great choice. I love the book (and movie) of The Princess Bride.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoy that one, too!
DeleteI love Bones from the Night Huntress series by Jeanienne Frost. I love a English accent.
ReplyDeleteThose accents are sexy!
DeleteI love Roarke but I also love Reyes from Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson books. So many book boyfriends, so little time.
ReplyDeleteI have not read those books--must add them to my list right away!
DeleteHmm.... Wesley, definitely. Tack from Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley. A few others but none come to mind right now :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to think of them on the spot. I completely blanked when I first sat down to make my list.
DeleteSome of my favorite "book boyfriends" are Jeaniene Frost's Bones, Spade and Vlad; Diana Gabaldon's Jamie Fraser; Patricia Briggs' Adam Hauptman; Kresley Cole's Trehan Daciano; Janet Chapman's Robbie MacBain and Kenzie Gregor; Nora Roberts' Cian (from the Circle Trilogy); Sherrilyn Kenyon's Vane Kattalakis; Karen Moning's Adam Black; Lynsay Sands’ Lucerne Argeneau; Kerrelyn Sparks' Angus MacKay; and Grace Burrowes Valentine Windham. I haven't read all the books/series you've mentioned, but I do like Lochlain, Eidolon, Layel and Wesley (yes, I've actually read the book!).
ReplyDeleteThat's one impressive list!
DeleteThanks so much for all of the wonderful comments today!
ReplyDeleteAnd a very big thank you to Danielle for having me over!
I have a huge crush on Col. Brandon from SENSE AND SENSIBILITY.
ReplyDeleteSome of your book boyfriends are on my to read list. I've seen The Princess Bride, but never read the book.
ReplyDeleteI love to see this kind of list - I always get to add a few to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteLove the list, none are on my list but that could be because I haven't read those books yet....i will need to be adding them to my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteRafe from Gunmetal Magic. Oh my.
ReplyDeleteEidolon and Layel are two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Ooooh Lachlain...he can rip apart my panties any day. Nice choice!
ReplyDeleteKresley Cole and Gena Showalter both do a fantastic job making you want to be with their heros!
ReplyDeleteRoarke! He's my rock. Get it get it? Lol. Love him to bits! Wonderful character don't you think? I also love all the yummy men in Judith McNaught's books!
ReplyDeleteWesley! Such a great choice, I haven't read the book but I love the movie!
ReplyDeleteI love Sebastien from Devil In Winter by Lisa Kleypas.
I agree with you about Ione's Eidolon and Princess Bride's Wesley...YUMMMMY. Kresley & Gena's got quite a few too but it was been a while since I have reviewed them. I've always kinda had a thing for the Robin Hood types ;-)
ReplyDeleteOhhh Cynthia Eden's books have been on my TBR list for a while. Now I must schedule a 'reading vacation' from work to spend time with so many new book boyfriends!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Roark/Shanna!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes - I have heard WONDERFUL things about you and your work!!!
NIce to "meet" you!
You named several I am familiar with...I mean who that has read Roark doesn't love him?
ReplyDeleteI also love Larissa Ione's books but always prefered Shade. Gena Showalter is another great but I prefer her LOTU and spinoff Angels of the Dark series. Kresly Cole is also Awesome! If you add Add JR Wards BDB, Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters and Christine Feehan's Dark Series those are the first books I read when I got into reading. All Paranormal. Then I think I found Cynthia's Midnight trilogy (which I loved)!
I agree with your choice of Roarke. When Pierce Brosnan was younger, don't you think he would have made a good Roarke in a movie?
ReplyDeleteWe have Duncan, Roarke and Wesley in common, but my TBR keeps growing.
ReplyDeleteI love Charles from the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs and definitely Wesley from The Princess Bride.
ReplyDeletemythic021@gmail.com
My all time favorite is Rhett Butler, but I must admit I'm fickle. I fall in love with each hero as I read their book.
ReplyDeletekscathyATyahooDOTcom
I love the brother's from Larissa Ione's Demonica series! Con and Wraith kind of top the list for me :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have a favorite book boyfriend because I tend to love the male character in most of the books I read. I love when I find a book where I can become invested in the characters and find things about them that I love.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved The Princess Bride, both the movie and the book, and I'd love to have a copy of my own. Angel in Chains sounds great as well, so my fingers are crossed for luck.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Best Wishes,
Lindsey V.
