I’m happy to be at Ramblings From This Chick to talk book boyfriends! It’s not easy to pick just one! But when she asked, I knew pretty quickly who I’d be picking.

My first love as a reader is paranormal romance, And, of all the paranormal creatures, vampires have always been my favorite and held the most fascination for me. I love their bloodlust, the way their needs for blood and sex go together, all the history they’ve seen and experienced firsthand, their incredible array of supernatural powers. I love their animalistic natures, that they can’t help but want and need to wrap themselves around you, sink their fangs into your skin, and take you. I also love the idea of the loneliness of immortality, and how that makes them tortured and sympathetic, despite their darkness. To me, vampires are simply the ultimate sexy bad ass! And though I have a lot of favorite vampires, one had most gotten under my skin. One has most engaged my imagination. One has most made me wish vampires—and this one in particular—were real.

As a reader, I feel the same exact way. I love Zsadist because his scars ran the deepest, his sense of self was the most shattered, he felt the least worthy of love, his need for redemption was the greatest and his achieving of it the most powerful. And for all these reasons, Lover Awakened is my all-time favorite vampire romance. I have re-read it so frequently I no longer know the number of times. I have talked about it so much that my author friends no longer think it’s strange that I don’t like when they say they like Zsadist because, you know, as a bonded female and all, I just really can’t handle anyone else expressing their interest in him. *winks*
