Guest Post with Author Cari Quinn and Giveaway

Please welcome back author Cari Quinn to RFTC. Cari is celebrating the release of her book, No Romance Required and has stopped by to chat.

USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneously.

Also, if you're on Facebook, I have a co-authored reader group with the fabulous Taryn Elliott called the Word Wenches where we post daily man candy, share smexy excerpts before you can get them anywhere else and hold lots of contests if you're interested in joining!

Places to find Cari:

Thanks so much for having me here today at Ramblings From This Chick! I’m so excited to talk about No Romance Required, the third book in my Love Required series from Entangled Publishing, which just released last week! Since I love lists, I figured I’d share five fun facts about why fake romances are better than the real thing.
  1. You always have a date. No worrying if he’ll ask or if he won’t—you know he will, because he needs you on his arm as much as you need him!
  2. Forget pesky relationship troubles, your fake-and-bake romance can be anything you want it to be. Want it to seem like your stud muffin is always considerate and likes to take long walks with you while listening to Justin Bieber? Go on and say it. It’s not like he’ll risk a public scene by contradicting you.
  3. And if he says something even worse about you, you get to call him something horribly embarrassing like “your raging love bunny.” He’ll have to bear it and smile. Go ahead, let out your inner Barry Manilow. He’ll love it…or pretend to anyway, which is practically the same thing.
  4. Since you have to make your romance seem realistic, you can snuggle and look like you’re really…friendly. Take that as far as you’d like and watch how he responds. In a bathroom at his parents’ house during a family get-together? Might as well put the time to good use rather than examining the guest soap collection, if you know what I mean. It’ll only add veracity to the proceedings when stuff breaks and his family busts in. Oh, and don’t forget to always pull your zipper back up first.
  5. One final thought—sometimes you don’t have to fake it at all. ;)

Now it’s YOUR turn! What’s the wildest thing YOU’VE ever faked? It can be a white lie you told, a pie you claimed you baked that you really got at the bakery or something even naughtier. It’s all up to you! And thanks again for having me here today! =)

Faking it never felt so good…

Cory Santangelo is used to getting his way, both in the boardroom and the bedroom. Lately he hasn’t had much opportunity to do anything but work, but one unexpectedly sexy night in a gazebo with Victoria, his gorgeous and feisty interior designer, changes all that—especially when they’re caught on camera. Suddenly Cory’s sterling reputation is no longer above reproach. Since his impromptu encounter coincides nicely with his need for a girlfriend to get his well-meaning, meddling parents off his back, he decides to ask his lifelong frenemy for a favor.

To pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. No strings attached.

The only problem? Vicky Townsend wants those strings tied all around her. She’s battled a long-suppressed crush on Cory, and their combative work relationship has only fanned the flames. When he suggests his needs are more than she can handle, she’s ready to up the ante. And her bargaining chip is lots of delicious, inventive sex.

Until they discover nothing feels as good as making it real…

  1. Hi Cari! Just popping in, but I do love you reasons to why a fake relationship is all the fab~ I do love me some fake romance, which then turns awkward and real afterwards. :)

  2. When I was 18 or 19, I pretended my younger brother and sister were my children to a guy who was bothering me hoping that would scare him off. It worked. The pictures were a few years old, but I'm 7 1/2 and 10 years older.

    Now, I don't care, so I don't fake anything.

  5. I don't think I've ever faked anything at quite that level before. I love that Anne pretended her brother and sister were her kids, though. That's hilarious!

  9. Congrats to Cari Quinn on the release of No Romance Required!

I haven't read any of series yet. I am adding it to my TBR list.

I faked knowing someone at a dinner party. I told "Bob" that that I didn't know him. He didn't believe me and kept following throughout the party. So I made up a couple of stories about our first meeting. Apparently, he was "tipsy" the night we didn't meet so he couldn't remember whether the stories were true or not. I am made him sound more exciting than he really was.

    Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

  10. It may sound unbelievable, but I actually had to make-up a fake boyfriend after my high school crush hooked up with my friend! Of all people. My ego was hurt, and so I picked a guy from my older sister friend and send his picture on my ex-crush. Which was so stupid since he never asked me if I have a boyfriend. So ashamed after that.
