Guest Post with Author Erin Kellison and Giveaway

Meet Erin Kellison, author of Soul Kissed.

Erin Kellison is the award-winning author of the Shadow series, the Shadow Touch novella series, and the Shadow Kissed series, all of which share the same world, where dark fantasy meets modern fairy tale. RT calls her latest, Soul Kissed, “a dark fairy tale with a twist, perfect for readers who love passion with their fantasy.”

Sing with me now! It’s the end of the world as we know it…

Thank you so much to Danielle for having me here today. This is the last stop of my Soul Kissed blog tour, and I’ve had a great time. To celebrate, I’m giving away a set of print Shadow series books (Shadow Bound, Shadow Fall, and Shadowman) to a random commenter who answers my question at the end of the post.

The end of the world, or rather a new Dark Age, began in the first book of my Shadow series, Shadow Bound, when Death, having fallen in love, crossed over from Twilight and into the mortal world. Since then magic has been seeping slowly back into the world, creating all kinds of chaos. Fun, right?

With each successive book in my Shadow series, the presence of magic and what that means has heightened. What began with sensational horror stories on the Internet has slowly grown to a mass consciousness that something dark is happening. People are hiding in their houses, protecting their families, while monsters from old—and the heroes and heroines that contend with them—fight age-old battles.

In Soul Kissed, which is a twisted take on the Cinderella fairy tale, hero Mason Stray and heroine Cari Dolan must not only fight a dangerous fae, but they are at the center of mounting mass hysteria, a modern torches-and-pitchforks witch-hunt. It’s this fever that ushers in the Dark Age, a time where magic will overcome the world again.

I’m so exited to continue the series with Night Kissed, the final book in the series, which will occur just after the break of the Dark Age. The fairy tale I’m basing the story on is The Raven, by Edgar Allen Poe (my kind of fairy tale). What will that world look like? How will daily life be different if the thing that goes bump in the night is actually real? What wonderful things will be possible as well?

My question for you today: Would you welcome an age of magic?

Also, Shadow Bound (book one in my original Shadow series) is FREE on Amazon and iTunes ($0.99 on Nook). And Shadow Fall (book two) is $0.99 everywhere through the end of next week.

While the world slumbers in Shadow, a fatal plague has swept through magekind. No one is immune to its ravages, and now that her father is dead, Cari Dolan must wield the fearful magic of her House to save innocent lives.

At the mage Council's bidding, dangerous outsider Mason Stray joins forces with Cari to hunt down the fiend responsible. But can he trust the daughter of wealth and privilege, especially when his own son is at risk?

The princess will always welcome to her bed the warrior, even if one must pay the ultimate price...

  4. I think so, but I suppose it would depend on the nature of the magic. If it included the ability to clean a room in a heartbeat without any negative consequences, then absolutely!

  5. I'm with the group. I'd accept it readily if I had a a reasonable share of the magic to wield also.

  7. I love reading about magic. I would love to have magically abilites. I think it would make things better in the world if magic was around, but if only used for good. Just a select number of people would be able to use it.

  10. Hmmm I think I would welcome it if checks and balances were in place. The playing field should be equitable for us poor ol' normals.

  11. An age of magic would be incredible. Of course some would abuse the power, but still, I've always longed for magic.
