Guest Post with Author Tammy Falkner and Giveaway

As half of the Lydia Dare writing team, Tammy Falkner has co-written ten books, including A Certain Wolfish Charm and In the Heat of the Bite. A huge fan of Regency England, her regency paranormal series combines the magical elements of both mystical faeries and the glittering regency ton and includes A Lady and Her Magic and The Magic of “I Do.” Tammy lives on a farm in rural North Carolina with her husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two. Visit her website, www.tammyfalkner.com, for more information about all of her books!

5 Things you would never know after just reading
THE MAGIC BETWEEN US:

1. When I sat down to write THE MAGIC BETWEEN US, it immediately turned into more than I imagined. I knew Marcus and Cecelia were life-long loves, and I knew they were dedicated to one another. But I had to come up with some reasons to keep them apart. The first was Marcus’s need for family approval. When that failed to last long enough, I had to make up an addiction for one of the family characters that seriously impacted Cecelia and made her want to withdraw.

2. One of my favorite characters in the book is a cheeky little garden gnome named Ronald. He has been a center of action in all the books in the series, and since it was coming to a close, I felt like it was only fair that he should have a romance of his own. Ronald finds love, too, and nothing made me happier than marrying the old curmudgeon off!

3. I know that people wanted some comeuppance for Mayden at the end of the book, but I don’t believe people are truly born bad. They turn bad because of their circumstances. Of course, in rare cases, people just aren’t good and it can’t be defined. But I wanted people to know Mayden’s history so they would know why he did what he did and why he was so desperate.

4. I dreamed the last scene with Mayden. The chomping words like FEAR and LOATING – all that was in a dream. I don’t dream often, but when I do, apparently it’s pretty real!

5. I have never mentioned this to anyone before and I doubt many people even noticed it, but there’s an underlying theme in the book of “my marriage is as valid as yours.” If you follow me on Facebook at all, you know that one of my biggest dreams in life is that ALL my friends have equal rights. I want ALL my friends who want to be married to be able to do so and to have that marriage validated. So, when I wrote THE MAGIC BETWEEN US, I included a slight parallel that most people probably didn’t even catch. Marcus and Cecelia wanted their marriage to be just as valid in the eyes of the fae as a fae-fae marriage would have been. That’s my little shout out for equality, even if it is a tiny one.

When These Worlds Collide…

Cecelia Hewitt has lived her whole life in the land of the fae, and she dreams of a future with her childhood sweetheart, Marcus Thorne. When Marcus is called upon to dwell in the human world, it means leaving Cecelia behind and breaking both their hearts...

More Than Sparks May Fly…

Marcus was groomed for leadership in the land of the fae, but now that he has found his human parents, he will inherit his father's title and position in the British ton—and he will marry a human. As love and passion continue to burn between Cecelia and Marcus, the question remains: Can two people fated for different worlds find one to share?

  9. I agree. My marriage is not yours and is not like anyone else's. Everyone deserves their own with no interference.

  10. Regency paranormals are pretty rare, it looks like you've done a good job with this one. :-)

I have to agree about marriage. I think the world would be a happier place if people focused on their own relationships and stopped worrying about those others are in -- except for romance novels of course. ;-)
