Meet Nyrae Dawn, author of Masquerade.
Writing has always been Nyrae Dawn's passion. Nyrae gravitates toward character-driven stories. She loves going on emotional journeys with characters whether it be reading or writing. And yes, she's a total romantic at heart and proud.
Nyrae resides in sunny Southern California with her husband (who still makes her swoon) and her two awesome kids.
When she's not with her family, you can be pretty sure you'll find her with a book in her hand or her laptop and an open document in front of her. Nyrae also writes adult romance under the name Kelley Vitollo.

A la Twitter style, please describe your book in 140 characters or less.
Strong heroine and a broken hero bond over tattooing, in the process getting over the past and falling in love.
What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
I love writing sarcasm and banter between the hero and heroine. Also heartfelt moments.
If you could have dinner with any three authors (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?
JR Ward because I would love to pick her brain about the brothers. John Green because he’s incredibly smart and Harper Lee.
What are you favorite types of stories to read?
I love romance but I also love them to make me think, and to make me feel.
Last question, are you working on anything right now?
I’m actually in the middle of edits on a YA at the moment.
After his father is put in prison for murder leaving his mother suicidal, Maddox Cross has always put his sister, Laney, first. Now living in Brenton, Virginia, Maddox has no idea what to do with his life, especially since Laney no longer needs him. One thing he does know is for the first time since losing football, he's found something else that's just for him--tattooing. When he meets a feisty young woman in the club where he works security, he has no idea that she has the ability to change his life forever.
Bee Malone has just moved to Brenton to open up her first tattoo parlor, Masquerade. Despite her young success, nothing is ever as it seems. After being kidnapped at a young age, Bee has difficulty being the daughter her parents lost and letting go of the "parents" she was raised with. When she meets Maddox, she's immediately attracted to him and what starts out as a one night stand leaves Bee wanting to connect with him in more ways than one.
Once Maddox finds out about Masquerade, he wants nothing more than to join Bee. But letting him in means trying to figure out who she is and she's not ready for that. And yet, as the two get closer, they find themselves leaning on each other more than they are comfortable with. Will their stubborn nature tear them apart? Or push them closer together?

Thanks for the post and the excerpt. I am a huge fan of this series and have been looking forward to Maddox' story! Do you have more plans to continue this series?
ReplyDeleteLove the excerpt! I have the others in the series, but haven't read yet. Thanks for the chance to win this one too! I'll have to move them up my list to read soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat made you come up with the tattooing theme? This sounds like a great book. Thanks for having the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWill your next standalone also be somewhat related to this book, Facade, and Charade?
ReplyDeleteI loved the previous books in the series and can't wait for masquerade!
ReplyDeleteInformative interview
ReplyDeleteNew series to me. The book sounds really interesting.

ReplyDeleteI love witty banter too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing read!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Hey. Thanks for the questions. For some reason it won't let me reply to each.
ReplyDeleteThe Games was the last book in the series. I have a few ideas for other series but as of yet I'm not sure exactly what I will be working on. I do have two upcoming releases though, another NA and a YA.
I LOVE tattoos and I really wanted to write a strong, female character who tattoos. I think we need more strong heroines.
I really like the combination of both of them having serious issues to overcome. The story would probably be interesting with just her kidnapping storyline but to add his to it too makes it seem a 100 times more interesting
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful book! I can't wait to read it1
ReplyDeleteNew series for me. Sounds worth trying.
