5. Henry V/Mountjoy the French Herald from Shakespeare’s Henry V.
I adore Henry V and have an absolute love of the 1989 Kenneth Branagh movie version of this play, to the extent that I’ve watched it hundreds of times at this point. One of the most poignant moments of the film is “The Day is Yours” scene when Henry manhandles Montjoy anger, as he thinks the herald has come from ransom again and they roll around in the mud for a bit. Mountjoy has actually come to ask Henry for leave to claim their dead. He’s the first person to tell Henry he’s won.

And thus this ship set sail for me.
Going back over the film (as I have done more times than probably healthy), there is this strange relationship between Henry and Mountjoy from the moment Mountjoy enters the hall in the beginning to give Henry the Dauphin’s “gift” of tennis balls, to their meeting after Harfleur, to the moment where Mountjoy keeps a group of French women from attacking Henry as he’s carrying the body of a dead boy at the end of the battle. There’s a deep sense of respect between these two men who should be enemies, but so do not act as if they are. The one piece of fanfic I’ve written is of this ‘ship.
It’s here, should anyone want to read: http://annazabo.com/2012/12/13/its-my-birthday-heres-a-gift/
4. Mick St. John/Josef Kostan from the little known, defunct, vampire show Moonlight.
I’m probably one of the only people who was a serious fan of this TV show. I don’t know what it was about it, because I’m not usually that big a fan of the angsty vampire trope, but there was something about Moonlight that I just liked. I especially adored the interaction between Mick and Josef. The scene that sealed the deal for me was when Mick begs Josef to turn him back into a Vampire so he can go save Beth (the love interest). The scene culminates in a bite that is…well, see for yourself:

Sadly, the show was a casualty of the writer’s strike in (2007-2008) and just as it got very interesting, was canceled. It’s one of those that I wish had been continued in books.
3. Arthur/Lancelot
These two should have just shacked up together, given how they both adored and admired each other. Heck, if they’d just had a nice poly relationship with Guinevere, none of that whole fall of Camelot thing would have happened. (I, um, have plans for that idea.)
2. Thor/Loki from the Marvel movies
Yes, I know they’re brothers. But Loki was adopted! There’s the whole hate sex thing and also Loki’s rather interesting ability to change his appearance. That could be *quite* a mind-fuck. As it were. Heck, that premise alone would make some interesting stories about Asgard. I’m sure someone’s written this as fic, right? Right?
1. Holmes/Watson
A classic, yes. But pretty much in every version of this—the books, movies, TV—I just want to smoosh them together for different reasons. Kiss....KISSSSS.
Michael Sebastian thought Curacao would be the perfect place to have a little fun in the sun–and between the sheets. So far, no one has struck his interest, until Sam Anderson walks into the bar. With one look at his tense body and expensive suit, Michael knows that this is a man in need of release. And Michael is more than willing to lend a hand.
Shattered by the most intense sex he’s ever had, Sam has to face the facts–one night with a handsome, dominating stranger is all he gets before returning to the closet he’s been suffocating in for years. But when Sam starts his new job as the CEO of a failing technology company, he discovers that Michael is one of his new employees.
While Michael is desperate for another night with Sam, he knows he shouldn’t get involved with his boss, let alone another man who can’t accept who he is. But as they’re forced to work together to save the company, the desire sparking between them becomes impossible to ignore…
