Award-winning and Bestselling author Rachel Harris writes humorous love stories about sassy girls-next-door and the hot guys that make them swoon. Emotion, vibrant settings, and strong relationships are a staple in each of her books…and kissing. Lots of kissing.
An admitted Diet Mountain Dew addict and homeschool mom, she gets through each day by laughing at herself, hugging her kids, and watching way too much Food Network with her husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult romances, and LOVES talking with readers!
Surf, Sand, and Books…
Put together, it sounds so relaxing. It conjures images of napping in the sun, a great book nestled in your lap, and the hint of a breeze wafting across your skin. Listening to the waves as they crash against the shore and you stargaze at night.
Unfortunately, that’s so not my reality. Except for the book part. Always the books ;)
For one thing, I grew up in New Orleans, and I now live in Houston, and for those of you who haven’t visited either city during the summer, let me put it this way—it’s HOT down here. Like, crazy hot. I much prefer sitting under a covered porch in the backyard overlooking a pool….close to my beloved A/C.
But even more than that, summers are insanely busy around here. With it being so hot, our homeschool keeps on trucking during the hot months, as we await our big break at the end of the year when it is actually tolerable outside. Add to our normal lessons extra summer camps and activities and mama’s author conferences and I’m often running around like a woman jacked up on jelly beans. Which makes those books that much more vital.
A great book is my summer escape. I can pretend to live in those perfect weather cities. I can live the life of a beach bunny, or, even better, lose myself in a book set during the winter and pretend it isn’t 100 degrees outside! And you know, now that I think about it, I happen to know an awesome book set during New Year’s Eve and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. That would make for an EXCELLENT summer read, don’t you think? (*grin*)
So, if you’re like me, trapped in the house while your poor plants wilt in the blazing heat, perhaps you’d like to indulge in ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED ON PURPOSE, a book about a sassy, fun-loving, romance-novel junkie heroine who wakes up married to a hot country music roadie….only to discover said roadie is actually the world famous country music superstar, Tyler Blue. If shenanigans, laughter, and swoon-filled moments galore is your cup of tea, I hope you’ll give Sherry and Tyler a read. It does make for a fabulous read whether you’re chilling at the beach, out at the pool, or laying under a turbo charged fan in your living room.
Happy Reading, y’all!
One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy loveSherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what happens in Vegas staying there.Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a cute read!
ReplyDeleteWow! Yeah, that would definitely influence how you feel about summer. It got hot where I grew up, but it was dry heat and it was just the three or four hours in the afternoon that it got that way.
ReplyDeleteYour story sounds good.
I loved this book. This whole series, actually. Keep writing, Rachel! ;)

ReplyDeleteThank you for the post and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't care about the surf and sand, just give me the books. I'd rather be reading inside in the a/c than baking in the hot sun getting sand in places I'd rather not have sand. But maybe if it was a tropical island and I had a handsome man fanning me with palm fronds, it would be bearable. :D
ReplyDeleteHope you survived the recent flooding in Houston, Rachel ! And are surviving the following massive increase in butterfly sized mosquitoes!
ReplyDeleteSurf, sand & books sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your books...and like you, I can't live without my AC!!!

ReplyDeleteLuckily for me, I now live on the West Coast where it's relatively cool and foggy all summer, but I lived in Florida for 10 years and those summers were brutal. Really loved the first two books in the series and looking forward to reading Accidentally Married on Purpose. It's waiting on my Kindle.
ReplyDeleteI love the warm weather, but definitely like being near the a/c and/or pool. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the perfect beach read!
