ARC Review: On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton

I have been dying to get my hands on Easy's story since I started this series from Chanel Cleeton! I absolutely loved him and could see so much more beneath the surface when it came to his character. On Broken Wings was everything that I had been hoping for and more. I never wanted it to end, and I absolutely love this world that Chanel has created.

Easy has always accepted the fact that he would have to love Dani from afar. As the wife of one of his best friends, he knew that friendship was all he would ever get and he was fine with that as long as it meant Dani was in his life. But after Joker was killed, Easy was determined more than ever to be there for Dani in any way that she needed him. As the two grow even closer, his love for her grew stronger. Dani had never seen Easy as anything more than a close friend, but in the year since she lost her husband, she started to see him as she never had before. But can they let go of the past and the guilt they feel to have a chance at a future together? 

My heart really hurt for both Dani and Easy. They had been through so much and each felt it so deeply. They really struggled with their feelings for each other and what that meant for not only their remaining connection to Joker, but also for their future. I loved that they had such a strong friendship and that their connection was so natural. These two just fit together and their relationship was independent of that  which Dani had before with Joker. She was able to love and be loved by two amazing men, and no one deserved it more than she did. Easy was more that what you first see, and his love for Dani was unlike any I have seen before. It was unconditional and unwavering, and he is the kind of guy that every girl dreams of one day finding. Dani was sweet and kind, and so very strong. She is the kind of girl that you would love to be friends with in real life, and I just couldn't get enough of them. 

Overall, it is so hard to pick a favorite book from this series as they are all fantastic, but On Broken Wings just might be my favorite. It was emotional and sexy, and everything and more that I had been waiting for. Easy and Dani are one of my all time favorite couples, and this series is one that is not to be missed! If you haven't read the previous books, this one can stand alone, but I highly recommend starting this amazing series at the beginning so as not to miss a single bit of it.

ARC Review: Into the Blue by Chanel Cleeton

As soon as I had finished Fly With Me by Chanel Cleeton, I couldn't wait to dive into Into the Blue. I really loved the first book in the series and couldn't wait to get more of these sexy fighter pilots. Into the Blue was really good as well, and I enjoyed reading it a lot. This series is definitely one worth checking out if you haven't already and I highly recommend reading these in order if possible. It isn't necessary, but the characters are interconnected and I think it really adds to the enjoyment to start at the beginning and see how each of these characters changes over the course of the series not to mention there are some things that will be spoiled if you don't start at the beginning. 

Eric Jansen (Thor) loves his job and flying but after a tragic loss, he finds himself struggling a bit. Needing to get his head on straight, he heads home to South Carolina determined to figure things out. But when he runs into the only girl he has ever loved, he realizes that there might be more for him to work out than he thought. Becca Madison has tried for ten years to forget the boy who broke her heart, but when she comes face to face with Eric all the feelings they once shared come back stronger than ever. Eric knows that he threw away the best thing that ever happened to him when he dumped her and broke their engagement, but can he win her back after all this time when the reasons they broke up in the first place are all still there? 

I really liked Eric and Becca. These two had such a strong connection and chemistry. It was clear right away that love was never their problem. Each of them had dreams, and those dreams didn't exactly mesh well together when it came to their relationship and the future. Eric broke Becca's heart, but it was easy to see that he had been hurting too. I hated that he had dumped her and that all that time had gone by, but because of their ages and his reasons for it, I completely understood it even when I didn't like it. It was nice to see that while a lot had changed over the years, everything that had been between them had not. It really felt so natural and perfect between these two that I knew right away that they were meant for one another.

I will say that while I enjoyed this one a lot, this book didn't pack quite the same punch the first one did. It didn't seem to have the same intensity or emotion the first one did, and I found myself missing the camaraderie between the guys that the first book had. Into the Blue focused a lot more on Eric and Becca, and while I did enjoy that I also wanted to see her transition into his world a bit more. It just felt like they were so far removed from all it because he was on leave and most of this story happened away from what the norm would be for these two moving forward. Like the first book, this one ended pretty abruptly and it felt really rushed to me. I don't know if this is a trend with Chanel Cleeton or maybe just this series, but if the next book is anything like this one, there will be a jump in time between the end of this book and the start of the next one. I would have loved to have been given an epilogue or something to kind of ease from this book to the next. While I do like how things ended in this one as in the first, it just felt like the author ran out of steam when she got to the end and again it didn't seem to do the story justice. While I had hoped for more of the previous characters in this book to kind of wrap their story up (and we did see some of them), this book didn't really give me that sense of satisfaction that I had been hoping for after the rushed ending of the first one, so I am not holding out a ton of hope that I will get that in the next book either. I do really like this series though, and the next book is the one I have been waiting for! Easy's story was one I wanted immediately after finishing Fly With Me, and I am so excited after reading the snippet at the end of Into the Blue. It is currently set to release at the start of 2017 though, so we have quite a wait for it. Even with the few criticisms I had here though, this series is one that I am really enjoying and would recommend for fans of contemporary romance.

ARC Review: Fly With Me by Chanel Cleeton

I couldn't wait to read Fly With Me by Chanel Cleeton after I first saw the cover and blurb. This one had so much that drew me in, and I just love military romance stories. There is just something irresistibly sexy about a man in uniform. This book was so good, and I couldn't put it down. I am already excited for the next book in this series, and I cannot wait to read more about these sexy fighter pilots!

While in Vegas for her little sister's bachelorette party, the last thing that Jordan expects is to meet a guy. She has a great life and owns a successful clothing business with her best friend. But the second she lays eyes on Noah Miller, it just reinforces the fact that she doesn't have love. Noah was in Vegas for work, but as soon as he saw Jordan he knew he would stop at nothing to make her his. But when it is time for them to leave and return to their homes (his in Oklahoma and hers in Florida), both of them want to see where things between them go and are willing to take a chance on a long distance relationship. But with not only distance between them, but also Noah's dangerous job, can they possibly find a way to make something work? 

I really loved both Noah and Jordan. These two were amazing together right from the start, with such strong chemistry between them. The sparks were flying from the second they laid eyes on each other and I couldn't get enough of them. I really loved that they were so open with each other though, and even though things were new for them they were able to talk to each other about all that they were going through. These two had so much that could stand in their way, so it was so refreshing to see such great communication between them. Noah was sexy and confident, and so passionate about his job and Jordan. Jordan was smart and sweet, and I loved how strong she was. She was so different than other heroines I have read before, and it was nice to see a woman that could miss her man without turning into a whiny and annoying brat. I just really loved both of these characters so much, and I had such a great time reading this book. 

Not only did I love Jordan and Noah, but I also loved the secondary characters as well. I am so excited to get to know these guys better as the series progresses and I am looking forward to Thor's book next. I have to say that I was really hoping for Easy's book after reading Fly With Me, but after everything that happened here I can see that it might take awhile to get his book. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long though, as I know there is so much more to his character and I cannot wait to see beneath the surface with him. I will say that this one would have been a five star read for me had it not been for the ending. It was rushed and really abrupt feeling, and while it was nice I just didn't feel like it did this story justice. It seemed as though the author just kind of ran out of steam and ended the book, and I would have loved to have been given a bit more. Knowing that the series will continue with interconnected characters, I am hoping we get to see more of Noah and Jordan. But I felt like even though things ended on a good spot here that there were still several things kind of up in the air that I would have liked to have seen dealt with. Overall though, this was a really good story and I had a great time reading it. I definitely recommend it, and I can't wait for the next one.

ARC Review: Between Shadows by Chanel Cleeton

I went into Between Shadows knowing that it was Chanel Cleeton's NA Thriller and that there wouldn't be a ton of romance here. While I typically read only romance, the blurb for this one sounded so good that I decided to take the chance here. I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and I am glad that I gave it a chance! There is some romance here, but this is definitely more new adult suspense/thriller than it is a romance and readers should take that into consideration before starting. I think this one is definitely worth the read though and I can't wait for more!

X lives her life following strict rules that have been ingrained into her since she arrived at the academy. Her life before is nothing but dreams and brief memories that she can barely remember, the academy has since given her everything that she has needed. They train operatives such as X in their areas of expertise and then send them out into the world on missions based on those strengths. Though the academy has told them they are dispensing justice, the kills weigh on X and she wonders if she is doing the right thing by following their orders. But when someone from her past returns, everything X knows is about to change. Has she been fighting for the right side all along, or is everything she thought she knew a lie? As X tries to piece together the truth, the only thing she knows for sure is that she will need every skill they taught her if she is going to stay alive. 

I really liked X. She was strong and good, even with what she was doing. I loved her loyalty to her sister and the bond she had with her. She would do whatever it took to protect her and shield her as much as possible, even if that meant putting herself in danger. Luke was great also! He starts off as a complete mystery and we have no idea what is going on with him. I wanted so badly to trust him, and yet I understood why X struggled with that. But the more that was revealed the more I really liked him and I was glad that we got to see the history between these two. They definitely had a connection and chemistry, but they also had so much that made it hard for them to trust though they each clearly wanted to. 

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going on and who was who, and Chanel Cleeton kept me guessing the whole way through. Between Shadows is said to be an Assassins novel, which leads me to believe their will be more to this series. While the ending here was satisfying, if a bit abrupt, there is still much more than can be explored here. I liked that things were mostly resolved, yet still left open. Having no information though, I do not know whether any following books will still focus on these characters or if the focus will shift to new ones. I would love to get more on X and Luke as well as X's sister Grace, but I am also really curious about some of the characters we met along the way here too. I am definitely hoping for more in this world though, and I thoroughly enjoyed Between Shadows. I highly recommend this one if you are a new adult or suspense fan, and I can't wait for more from Chanel Cleeton.

ARC Review: Falling for Danger by Chanel Cleeton

I am so sad now that I've finished this series. From the first page of Falling for Danger I was hooked. No lie. The prologue had me feeling butterflies and it just made me all that more anxious to get to the story and oh what a good story it was. I honestly couldn't put the book down. It was sexy and intense and had me guessing right up until the end.

First let me just say that reunion stories are my crack. Crack I tell you! They are my ultimate favorite trope and Chanel Cleeton did this trope justice. Matt and Kate were perfection and they were everything that I was wanting when I picked up this book and more. I've been dying for their story and oh what a story it was. I won't really get into because I don't want to give away any spoilers but oh how my heart broke for these two at times. Throughout most of the book I had butterflies in my stomach because of these two. To say they had crazy chemistry just isn't cutting it. The sparks between these two were electric and you can't help but root for them and hope that they can get things figured out so they can have their long awaited HEA.

In the previous books I wasn't really quite sure of my feelings for Kate. It was evident that she was still reeling from Matt's death but other than that I wasn't sure how I would like her. Once I started reading this book and got inside her head I was able to understand her and where she was coming from. There is just so much pain that she is still dealing with regarding Matt and she will stop at nothing to avenge him and honor his memory. I found her to be incredibly brave and endearing.

Matt oh Matt. How my heart broke for him and everything that he's been through. The last four years have been hell for him and at times it hurt to read about the things he had to deal with. Understandably Matt was an intense character and the bits and pieces we see through his eyes were hard to see.

The thing that I loved about this book is there isn't any petty drama and even though the characters are young they don't act immature and play games. Off the bat you get a real sense of the feelings these two have for one another and that they will do anything to keep the other save. I will say that I was slightly disappointed by the ending because I don't feel like it was wrapped up well enough. I feel like the whole book leads up to this explosive finale and then it just kind of fizzled out. Not the ending I would have picked for these two especially after everything they went through.

All in all I still loved this book. It was definitely my favorite in the series and I just couldn't get enough. I'm sad that it's over.
