ARC Review: Right Kind of Wrong by Chelsea Fine

Right Kind of Wrong is the third book in Chelsea Fine's new adult Finding Fate Series. Each book has interconnected characters, but can be read as standalone. I have really enjoyed this series, and I couldn't wait to read this book. I will say though that this was my least favorite book in the series. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't as good as the others to me. I had a tough time connecting with the heroine in this book, and I think that was the majority of my problem this time around.

Growing up without any male influences, Jenna has seen what love can do to you. She has only ever seen men wreck the lives of those around her, so she needs complete control always and is focused on her plan. The only person who has ever threatened that is Jack Oliver. They have been friends since she moved to Arizona from New Orleans, though one steamy night together threatened to change everything. Jenna and Jack don't speak about their night together though, and have acted like it never happened. But when Jenna has to return to New Orleans to visit family, Jack decides to tag along as he has some family business that he needs to take care of. Though Jack wants Jenna nowhere near his family's problems, she winds up right in the middle of it all with him. Jack is determined to keep her safe and get everything taken care of as quickly as possible, believing that if she knew all his secrets he would never have a chance with her. But convincing Jenna to alter her plan and give them a chance could be harder than keeping her out of danger.

I really loved Jack. He was fantastic! Super sexy and sweet, I loved how open and honest he was. He was my favorite part of this book, and I honestly thought that he deserved better. I loved that he didn't give up easily on those he loved, and that he would do anything for them. But I thought that he needed a better girl than Jenna. She was whiny and annoying for most of this book, and I didn't really understand all of her issues. I get that she had seen bad examples when it came to men in her life, but she was pretty judgmental when it came to lumping the entire male population in with her grandfather and father. She had seen how great Jack was and that he genuinely cared about her, so for her to be so against anything with him really baffled me after awhile. I could see that she was scared, but she came off as rude and bitchy most of the time. More than once I just wanted Jack to move on and find someone better.

As the story progressed, Jenna would show signs of improvement and I would think that she was finally starting to get it. But just as fast as she would make progress, she would revert right back. I was tired of her constantly pushing Jack away, and it got old after awhile. The other problem I had with this book is that it felt too easy as far as the rest of the story went. Jack and Jenna's relationship might have been long and drawn out, but the real problems that Jack's family was facing were resolved very easily and quickly. It was pretty unbelievable that they would have been wrapped up so easily considering how serious they were. So while I liked Jack, this story wasn't what I had hoped for. The first book in this series was my favorite, and unfortunately the series seemed to just lose a bit of steam with each book. I loved Levi and Pixie's story, but the others were just okay. While this book wasn't my favorite, I did enjoy it and that is because of Jack. I look forward to reading more from Chelsea Fine in the future as I do think she is a great writer.

ARC Review: Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine

Perfect Kind of Trouble is the second book in Chelsea Fine's new adult Finding Fate series. I absolutely loved the first book and couldn't wait to get my hands on the next one. I loved this one as well, and it was such a fun read. Chelsea Fine is a gifted storyteller, and I absolutely love her writing style. She has interesting and unique characters that are easy to love flaws and all. I highly recommend this series if you haven't already read it, and I can't wait to read the next book as well.

After hearing about her father passing away, Kayla Turner heads back to her hometown in order to attend his funeral and be at the reading of the will her father's attorney told her she needs to be present for. She finds out that her father left her a letter that she needs to read in order to get her inheritance but that she also needs to be handcuffed to Daren Ackwood at the same time. Kayla grew up knowing Daren as the spoiled rich kid who worked for her father sometimes. He now drives an expensive car, wears designer clothes and goes through a ton of women. Kayla and Daren are both interested in the inheritance though, and decide to tough out the conditions in order to see what James Turner left behind for them. Daren is struggling to make ends meet while he tries to atone for his father's sins. He doesn't let anyone know the truth about what is really going on in his life, and is determined to make things work with Kayla because he needs the money more than anyone knows. Although things start off rough for Kayla and Daren, they quickly realize that things aren't as they appear for either of them and they end up sharing more with each other than they ever have with anyone else before. As they go from letter to letter on the scavenger hunt that James planned for them, they begin to see that maybe the money wasn't the only thing that Kayla's dad left behind for them.

I wasn't sure at the beginning of this story if I was going to like Daren as well as I ended up liking him. After the first book, he came across as a bit of an arrogant jerk that often acted without care and recklessly. But I was so glad that we got to see how much more there was to him beneath the surface. He was a really good guy that was going through a lot and he was all alone. He was trying to make things right that weren't his fault at all, and I really admired how he went out of his way for others. He judged Kayla pretty harshly at the beginning, but she did the same with him. It was great to see them both realize how wrong they had been, and how much the actually had in common. Kayla had also been through a lot, and she had a lot of things revealed to her over the course of this book. She thought that she knew so much and it turned out that she had been lied to and was misinformed on so much. I felt really badly for her, but I was glad that she had Daren to lean on. These two had fun together, and had a lot of chemistry. But what made their relationship so great is that they were supportive of each other and completely understood everything the other was going through. They were a great match, and I liked watching them fall for one another.

Overall, I would have to say that this book was really great. I liked the characters and I liked that they grew and changed over the course of the book. They were able to find someone who made them a better person and they were better together than apart. I was glad that we were able to see Kayla find out the truth about why her dad hadn't been a part of her life for so long, and it was really great to get to see his letters to Kayla and Daren. I really liked following along with the scavenger hunt that they went on. This book was fun to read but there were also a lot of really emotional and touching moments too. It was great to see these two troubled and broken people find something they never knew they were looking for and come out better off for it. I thought that they judged each other a lot and made assumptions for a bit too long in this story though, and I would have liked to have seen them realize things a bit sooner. But otherwise, I didn't have any complaints. Their story was real and believable and I was interested right from the start. If you are a new adult fan, I highly recommend checking this series out. I can't wait to read more from Chelsea Fine in the future and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

ARC Review: Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine

I am a New Adult junkie. I love the genre, and I will give pretty much any book a try as long as it sounds good in the blurb. That being said though, a lot of NA books tend to be really similar, and that sometimes makes for just an okay reading experience. Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine though was more than I ever expected. It was fantastic! This book was well written and interesting. It was filled with likable characters that were a little bit broken and suffering from guilt and were struggling to just make it through. I loved this book so much and I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more in this series by Chelsea Fine, and if you are a NA fan at all this book is an absolute must read.

Pixie is looking to avoid going home to her mother while on break from school, so she ends up taking a job with room and board at her Aunt Ellen's Inn.The last thing she expects though is to not only run into Levi, but that he will be working and living there as well. Levi and Pixie grew up together and were once extremely close. Now they are barely on speaking terms, and even then its only because they are arguing with each other. They try to do their best to avoid each other, but it becomes more difficult everyday especially since they are sharing a bathroom. Levi likes to use all the hot water just to annoy Pixie, so she retaliates by overloading the electrical system and blowing fuses. But the more that they argue and annoy each other, the harder it becomes to keep their feelings and attraction to each other under control. Can they find their way back to each other, or will their past continue to define them and keep them from having a future together?

I really liked Levi. He was so complex and at first glance he seems to be a bit of a jerk. But because we got his POV as well in this story, you could tell that he was lost and a bit adrift. He was clearly looking for any way to get a reaction out of Pixie and find a way to keep her close without actually being with her. He was so torn up by guilt that he felt like he couldn't be with Pixie or even really be her friend anymore. Pixie also felt a ton of guilt and I thought that it was heartbreaking how these two felt so responsible for something that neither of them were to blame for. Pixie was really easy to like, and I was instantly rooting for her. I liked that she was able to dish it right back to Levi and I thought that they were really great together. I loved their witty banter and the ease of their relationship. Even when they were struggling, you could tell just how connected they were and how natural their relationship was. They might have been in a bad place, but I never once questioned their feelings for each other or how strong their bond was. I loved that Levi was Pixie's hero and that no matter what he was always caring for her and trying to protect her. Levi and Pixie had an undeniable connection, but they also had off the charts chemistry. They were always more than friends, and it was great to watch them heal and make their way back to each other.

Overall, this book was captivating and I loved everything about it. The pacing was great, and I loved that it was slow enough to be real and not seem forced, and yet it was quick enough to keep you interested and turning the pages. I really felt their pain and anguish as they dealt with their painful past, and at times this book was really heartbreaking. But I loved how they were able to find their way back and strengthen the connection that was always there and really start to forge a new future together. This book was so real and believable and I liked how there was a ton of sexual tension throughout. There wasn't a lot of sex in this book, and yet there were plenty of steamy scenes and it really worked. Chelsea Fine did a really great job of making this book really sexy as well as emotional. I loved everything about this story, and I can honestly say that I have no complaints with this book. It is really rare to find such a great read that you can just lose yourself in and become completely invested in the characters. Best Kind of Broken is one of those books and I can't wait to not only read more in the series, but to also go back and read Levi and Pixie's story again and again. These characters are some of my favorites, and they will stick with me. I highly recommend this book to romance fans of all genres, this book is definitely not to be missed!

Feature and Giveaway: Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine

SOMETIMES MOVING ON MEANS MOVING IN

Pixie Marshall wishes every day she could turn back time and fix the past. But she can't. And the damage is done. She's hoping that a summer of free room and board working with her aunt at the Willow Inn will help her forget. Except there's a problem: the resident handyman is none other than Levi Andrews. The handsome quarterback was once her friend-and maybe more-until everything changed in a life-shattering instant. She was hoping to avoid him, possibly forever. Now he's right down the hall and stirring up feelings Pixie thought she'd long buried . . .

Levi can't believe he's living with the one person who holds all his painful memories. More than anything he wants to make things right, but a simple "sorry" won't suffice-not when the tragedy that scarred them was his fault. Levi knows Pixie's better off without him, but every part of him screams to touch her, protect her, wrap her in his arms, and kiss away the pain. Yet even though she's so close, Pixie's heart seems more unreachable than ever. Seeing those stunning green eyes again has made one thing perfectly clear-he can't live without her.
