ARC Review: Roar by Cora Carmack

I don't read a ton of fantasy books, but when I saw the cover for Cora Carmack's Roar I knew I had to read it. I didn't even read the blurb, I just added to my TBR. Once I started reading this story though, I was instantly drawn in and didn't want to put it down. This was a great first book in the Stormheart series, and I am looking forward to reading more. 

Aurora comes from an old Stormling family, and as the sole heir of Pavon has been groomed to rule. But she doesn't have any storm magic, so her mother decides that an arranged marriage is the perfect solution. Prince Cassius is chosen as he has the ability to help her protect her people with the magic she lacks, but Aurora doesn't want to marry him the more she learns about him. So when she stumbles upon a black market selling storm magic and she meets a handsome storm hunter that was born without magic and now has it, she realizes that she just might have another option. 

Roar is on the YA side, and at times the characters definitely act like it. While I did like them, I felt like a lot of what they did was stereotypical childish behavior and at times that annoyed me a bit. I still liked the characters and was interested in seeing how things would play out though and luckily it didn't deter me from continuing on. I really liked the interactions between Rora and Locke, and it was what had me really enjoying this book. Their banter was great, and I didn't want to stop reading once I had started. While things were definitely on the insta-love side, I felt like they had a great connection. I will say though that Cassius also felt like he could definitely be an option for Rora, with the tension between them leading up to a possible triangle in the next book. I'm not entirely sure where I stand yet on that side of things, but the one thing I am sure of is that I can't wait to find out what happens next. 

As this is the first book in a fantasy series, there is a bit of world building that sometimes can drag the story down a bit. But I found this world fascinating and it wasn't too much to get through. Cora Carmack has created a unique and captivating world, full of interesting characters and I am absolutely looking forward to more. If you are a fan of fantasy novels, you will definitely want to give this one a shot. Even if you aren't a big fantasy fan though, I think that a lot of readers will really enjoy this story and it is one I would recommend.

Review: All Played Out by Cora Carmack

This book was AMAZING! Seriously, it was everything I was hoping for and more. I'm a HUGE fan of Cora Carmack's Rusk University series and I've been dying to get my hands on All Played Out ever since I finished reading All Broke Down. Mateo Torres was everything that I was hoping he would be and so much more. Seriously, he's strong, sexy, hilarious and so damn sweet. Gah loved him so hard. Definitely one of my favorite heroes that Cora has ever written.

As for Nell, I was surprised by how much I liked her. I'll admit when I found out she was going to be the heroine of this story I wasn't overly excited. But I grew to love her and found that I could relate to her in a lot of ways.

Let me just say that these two are beyond adorable together. They truly bring out the best in one another but not only that, they grew so much together. The chemistry between these two was explosive and I just loved watching these to interact with one another and let their walls fall down. Seriously, these two were just so good together.

From beginning to end, I couldn't get enough and just loved this book to pieces. I want more and I hate that I have to wait so long for the next book. If you love sports romances or new adult you definitely need to read this series. It's just so, so good!

ARC Review: All Broke Down by Cora Carmack

I've been sitting here the last few days trying to compose my thoughts on All Broke Down. All I can say is that this was another winner from Cora Carmack. Honestly, I found it so hard to put this book down and I loved it from beginning to end. It was hot, sexy, witty, heartbreaking and oh so good.

After finishing All Lined Up I wasn't sure how I was going to like Silas. In that book he comes off like a jerk and someone that doesn't take anything serious. I wasn't sure if he was hero material at all. Let me just say that is definitely not Silas at all. He's caring, hard working and has the world on his shoulders. He's just misunderstood and I just wanted to hug him at times.

As for Dylan, it took me awhile to warm up to her. While I liked her and loved her with Silas I just wanted her to loosen up some and to be honest with herself about her feelings.

Honestly I loved this book and thought that Dylan and Silas were perfect for one another. They brought out the best in each other and I thought they were adorable together. They had such great chemistry and they were hot together. Verra hot.

I am seriously digging this series and I can't wait to read more. I love the rawness of it and just how real it seems. The characters don't feel like characters but more like friends. The way the author is able to capture everything on the page and make it all feel real is a talent and Cora Carmack has it in spades. She makes you care about the characters and the things that they are going through. You definitely don't want to miss out on.

ARC Review: All Lined Up by Cora Carmack

First let me just say that I LOVED this book. Seriously, I devoured it and read it in pretty much one sitting. I just couldn't seem to put it down. I loved the world that Cora Carmack created and I loved all of the characters that encompass it. Each, in their own way had something to bring to the table and I loved getting to know them all. I do hope that we get to see books for everyone because I am not ready to say goodbye to them at all.

As for Dallas and Carson I loved them together and liked that they seemed to bring out the best in one another. They are both able to be open and honest with one another and I found that so refreshing, especially for a new adult book. I thought they were so cute together and the sparks between them jumped off the page. I was rooting for these two and loved that they were so cute and witty together. I really liked that we were able to see them grow and it was great watching their relationship progress from friends to more.

Normally I'm not the biggest sports fan and football is pretty much a character of its own in All Lined Up, but it didn't bother me at all. In fact, I found myself wanting to watch a football game after reading this. Ms. Carmack describes things with such detail that you can tell that it's something that she's passionate about and she knows what she's talking about.

All in all, I just can't say enough how much I loved this book. I sincerely look forward to reading more from Ms. Carmack. If the rest of her books are this good, then I've seriously been missing out. I highly recommend.
