ARC Review: Love Me Always by Michelle Lynn

Love Me Always takes us back to the couple that started it all, Sadie and Brady! Michelle Lynn closes The Invisibles series out by revisiting familiar faces as Brady Carson and Sadie Miller approach their wedding day. Though this could standalone, I wouldn't recommend it. You will be missing some backstory and history for these two if you haven't read their book, though it would still be understandable if you haven't since this focuses on their future together.

As Sadie and Brady's wedding draws closer, their relationship is far from what it was when Brady proposed. Not only do they have the stress of their upcoming wedding, but Sadie and Brady's pasts begin to jeopardize their future together. Though they both love each other, they will have to rely on each other if they plan to make it to the wedding and the start of their HEA. 

I'll be honest here and say that Sadie drove me nuts here. She made me so angry several times throughout this novella, and honestly it really seemed as though she was responsible for most of the problems that her and Brady were experiencing. She was selfish and suffering from guilt that she should have shared with Brady. I hated the fact that she didn't seem to really think about Brady or his feelings and what he needed. Brady would ask her to do something and would do the opposite, thinking that she knew better. Their chemistry was still there and they were hot together, but I really didn't like Sadie's attitude here. There were times that I was actually wanting Brady to just call it all off. Brady was great though and I couldn't have loved him more. He was always there for Sadie and treated her with nothing but love and respect.

While it was nice to get more of these characters, I just wish that Sadie wouldn't have been so hard to like here. I really had issues with her, and I didn't feel bad for her at all. She was dealing with a lot and while I understood that, the way she went about things made it impossible for me to be sympathetic to her and her situation at all. I also didn't really care for the way the epilogue was done. It was nice to see where everyone ended up and how things turned out, but it was just kind of weird the way it was done. Great series that I will always remember, but this wasn't my favorite.

ARC Review: Seeing You by Michelle Lynn

I am a huge fan of Michelle Lynn's, and I couldn't wait to read this book. I honestly had no clue what it was about at first, but one look at that gorgeous cover and I was sold. Thankfully this book was a great story to go along with the cover, and I enjoyed it a lot. Another thing I didn't know when reading this was that while it says that Seeing You is a Fall In Love Novel on the cover, there is actually a related novel to this one by another author. The book is called Work Song by Danielle Allen and features Amelia's roommate Tatiana. After reading this and learning that she has her own book, I have added it to my TBR pile since I loved her character so much here. I am so intrigued with her and I can't wait to see what was going on with her throughout this book!

After Amelia Fiore gets fired from yet another job, her neighbor and friend Todd Hamilton gets her a job as a bartender at the restaurant he works at. Todd is an up and coming chef, that models for Amelia while she tries to break into the art world with her photography. Though nothing has ever happened between Amelia and Todd, things between them begin to change the more time they spend together. When Todd asks Amelia for a favor, he never suspects that instead of it helping him achieve his dreams that it will change everything for his friendship with Amelia. 

I really liked Todd and Amelia, and I loved his nickname for her. He called her Noodle because her name sounded like past, and for some reason that was absolutely adorable to me. Their friendship was so strong right from the start, and it was clear how at ease they were with one another. I knew right away that these two belonged together, but that it was just a matter of them realizing it. Todd was a great guy, and I loved how supportive he was of Amelia. She was the same for him, and these two genuinely believed in each other no matter what. It was great that they had one another to lean on and they always knew that no matter what they could rely on each other. The chemistry was there between them all along though, and I couldn't wait for them to explore just how much they could be to each other besides just friends. They were perfect for one another, and I loved watching them grow closer throughout this book. 

Though this isn't exactly a spoiler, I will advise those that are against them stop reading here just in case they don't want to know. I felt like it should be mentioned though, and it wasn't in the blurb so I don't want to have anyone upset about me talking about it without them knowing that they should look away first. So beware, and if you continue reading do so knowing that part of this story could be spoiled.The one thing that kept this book from being higher rated for me was that I hadn't been expecting for this to be as much of a love triangle as it was. There was another player here, and I felt like I was a bit mislead when it came to that. I don't mind love triangles, but I don't like to be blindsided by them and that was what it felt like here. The fact that it continued as long as it did was another thing I didn't care for. There were so many opportunities for it to end here, and I just kept waiting for that to happen so that Todd and Amelia could finally start to face their feelings and the connection they were making with one another. The blurb never mentioned anyone else, except that there were unexpected consequences of the favors, and I know a lot of readers don't do love triangles or like to read books where the hero or heroine is with someone else. If that is something that bothers you, I feel like you should know that going in so you aren't blindsided like I was. Besides that though, I really did like this story. I loved Todd and Amelia for one another, and if it hadn't been for the other player and these two taking so long to finally be together, this one would have been five stars for me. I think it is still worth the read and is a great story though, and it is one I would recommend for contemporary romance fans. Michelle Lynn is a great writer and she always draws me in right away. Seeing You was one that I really enjoyed, and I didn't want to put it down.

ARC Review: Let Me Go by Michelle Lynn

Let Me Go is the fifth book in Michelle Lynn's The Invisibles Series, and centers around Rob and Paige. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest reading these in order if you can for full enjoyment. I really like the characters in this series. They aren't perfect, but they are so real and I like that it is easy to relate to them. They each make mistakes, but it is their flaws that make them who they are.

Rob Winters is the bad boy of the group, and even his friends know that he can be a real jerk. But he acts the way he does for a reason, and he keeps others at arms length to protect himself from ever experiencing hurt like he did in his past. When his friends and roommates get a new roommate, his friend Chrissy makes him promise to stay away from her. But Rob can't stop the flirting he is known for, especially with how attracted to Paige he is. Paige has her own issues and knows that the last thing she needs is to hook up with her roommate, even if she wants him. But when Paige and Rob start to get closer, they find it harder to fight the attraction between them. Can Paige and Rob find a way to help each other and explore the connection between them, or will there be too many obstacles in their way? 

I felt for both Rob and Paige. They were both struggling with so much, and it was clear that they didn't allow others in easily. Paige and Rob both had trust issues, which made them both extremely wary of getting involved with others. Rob had been hurt and left when he needed someone the most, and that altered his entire life. He was so lost, and it wasn't until Paige that he really started to change again. I was glad that Paige didn't let him push her away and get away with everything he tried. He needed someone like her to fight for him, and I liked seeing that side of her. Because of Paige's parents and life growing up not only did she have trust issues, but she was particularly biased when it came to musicians. But Rob showed her that he could be there for her, and it was good to see him support her when she really needed someone. These two connected on a level that they never had with anyone else, and the chemistry between them was really strong. I thought that they made a great couple, and they were hot together! 

Overall, this was a really good story and I liked Rob and Paige a lot. They were flawed and had issues, but they found strength in each other and it was good to see them learn to rely on someone else. I will say that the beginning of this story was very hard for me to get into for some reason. It was kind of slow and I found myself struggling to get invested in these characters, but once I did I really liked this book a lot! I would recommend this book to NA fans, especially if you are a Michelle Lynn fan. This book ended up being one of my favorites of hers and I am so glad that I stuck with it. I look forward to reading more from her.

ARC Review: Love Surfaced by Michelle Lynn

Let me just start off by saying that little sister and brother's best friend books are seriously my crack. I cannot get enough, and I will read every single one that crosses my path. For real, I cannot turn them down. That being said, I really wanted to read this one because I enjoy Michelle Lynn's writing and have liked other books that I have read by her. Love Surfaced was a good story, and there were a lot of things I liked. But I also had some mixed feelings because there some things that I really didn't like as well. 

Piper Ashby has grown up with Tanner McCain and has loved him for most of her life. Her twin brother Brad Ashby is Tanner's best friend, and all three of them spent a lot of time together growing up and pursuing their dreams of being US Olympic swimmers. When they are seniors in college, Piper and Tanner finally decide to give in to their feelings and begin a secret relationship. But when Piper finds out that Tanner lied to her, she ends things and cuts all ties with him. Two years go by without contact, until her brother is preparing for his wedding with Tanner being his best man. Now Tanner is back and is determined to win Piper back, but Piper isn't ready to forgive him, Can Tanner get her to finally hear his side to the story and take a chance on a future with him, or will Piper and Tanner be over for good? 

One of my biggest issues with this story I am sad to say was Piper. This girl was so insecure, and it absolutely drove me nuts. She was weak and it didn't get better. I honestly believe that if it weren't for her best friend Bea, that she would have pretty much ruined her entire life because of her fears. She would have moments where it appeared that she was finally making progress, but then it would just disappear and she would be back to the same scared little girl. She was wishy washy and I just wanted her to believe in herself and in the feelings and connection that she had with Tanner. Tanner was another problem for me. While I liked his character, I felt like there were a lot of things that he should have done differently. He didn't encourage attention from other girls, but yet he didn't really handle it either. He would let them flirt and touch him in front of Piper without really pushing them away. He also let Piper get away with running from him without ever knowing exactly what had happened. I understood part of that as the story unfolded, but why did it take him two years to finally try and get her back? He could have easily reached out to her before then or made an effort, and that just didn't seem to fit with his personality and claims to have loved her forever. Especially if he was so hung up on Piper as to have never been able to move on with other women. 

While I thought that these two had chemistry and a bond forged through years of friendship, I also felt like there were some inconsistencies in the story regarding their relationship throughout the years. At some points it was stated that Tanner would torment Piper when they were younger, yet then it would be stated that he was also the one that would protect her and was the one she would turn to for a safe haven. It just didn't fit, and without seeing their childhood I was left a bit confused. I think part of my problem was that this story was told only from Piper's POV, so we were left wondering what was really going on in Tanner's head. I also felt like Piper's brother had really affected their relationship and he was such a jerk. He really pissed me off, and I couldn't believe everything that he pulled in this story. For him to have done the things that he did and have to be forced by others around him to ever do the right thing really bothered me. Brad needed to grow up and I really wanted to hit him. For me, the huge secret wasn't as big of a deal as it was made out to be and I thought that Piper overreacted. A lot of the blame for this is on her, though I do believe that others had a part in it as well. I just felt like this story took some turns that I couldn't really get behind. While I liked Piper and Tanner together, I felt like a lot of the angst and drama was a bit over the top. These two should have been able to talk and explain things to each other, and neither of them did until it was years after the face. While I like Michelle Lynn's books, I have to say this one wasn't my favorite. I will still read more from her in the future, but this one wasn't what I had thought it was going to be going in.

ARC Review: Can't Let Go by Michelle Lynn

Can't Let Go by Michelle Lynn was a lot different than what I had expected going into the book. I hadn't read the previous three books in the series, and although I didn't have any problems understanding this story I think it did affect how I went into this book. I had been expecting more of a rock star story about friends who find their way to love, but this book was completely different. I liked both Chrissy and Dex, and I felt like they really deserved some happiness together after everything that they had been through. But I also really loved the secondary characters as well and can't wait to go back and read their stories as well as get Rob's story next. I can't wait to see more of him after reading Can't Let Go.

Dex and Chrissy grew up spending every other weekend hanging out with each other while their fathers left them to gamble. While Dex would return home to his mother's house after, Chrissy was stuck with her father. Dex and Chrissy's lives played out completely different and while they did have some things in common, Dex had a whole other life that Chrissy couldn't relate to at all. When Dex leaves for college, him and Chrissy lose touch for several years until one day she resurfaces and calls him out of the blue. Needing help, she asks Dex to come to her and he ends up providing a place for her to stay while she gets back on her feet. When the two sides of Dex's life collide, Chrissy discovers that she doesn't know this Dex and the boy she once knew is now completely changed. But the attraction and chemistry between them is still the same, even if they have never acted on it. Dex doesn't do love and commitment, but for the first time in his life he is beginning to think of a future with someone as long as it is Chrissy. Can Chrissy and Dex find a way to take their friendship to the next level and have a future together, or will their lives be too different for them to take that step together?

I liked both Dex and Chrissy. These two had a ton of history and had grown up being best friends and sharing something that most people would never understand. Dex had two different lives, and they didn't mesh at all. Even though he always cared for Chrissy and Chrissy cared for him, they knew that those two sides of his life just didn't fit together and that also meant that things with Chrissy were always a certain way. I did have a few things with Dex that I didn't care for, and I thought that he made some huge mistakes with Chrissy. He wanted her in his life forever and was determined to always have her as a friend, and yet he didn't try very hard to make sure that she knew that. He would push her away and lose touch with her, and just let her run every time. I also really didn't like that even though he knew his feelings for Chrissy were changing and that he was scared that he continued to let things happen with Sam. That really bothered me, and I think that it was unfair to Chrissy and Sam both. I thought that Chrissy was independent and smart and she did what she could with the life she had been dealt. She didn't like to take anything from anyone and was determined to make it on her own, and I wish she would have accepted help a little easier especially from Dex. But she really started to allow others in as the book progressed and it was nice to see her getting over that. I was glad that she never gave up on Dex and that they never lost their connection no matter what happened. These two were meant to be together and that was clear from the start.

I also really loved the way that Michelle Lynn told their story. It was great to see how they met for the very first time and how their friendship and the love between them grew and changed over the years. I loved seeing them as children and getting the whole picture on their past as well as the present, and it really just solidified how strong the bond between these two was. I do wish that it wouldn't have taken so long for Dex to really wake up, but I am glad that he cared so much about Chrissy to want her in his life always even if he went about it wrong. I could have done without the portions of him and Sam because I really felt like when he was with her he almost seemed to forget about Chrissy and I felt like that hurt the relationship between him and Chrissy. It was hard to believe that if he really loved her that much that he wouldn't be thinking of Chrissy instead. I did love Rob though, and I thought that his friendship with Chrissy was one of the best parts of this book. He was there for her when she needed someone, and I thought that he was so sweet with her. He really showed her a different side to himself that he didn't show to others, and he was able to help her get through some tough times. I can't wait to read his story next and get to know him even better. Despite the few issues I had with this story, I would still recommend this one and look forward to reading the rest of the series. I think that NA fans will enjoy Dex and Chrissy's story especially if they are fans of Michelle Lynn and her Invisibles series.
