ARC Review: Hard Compromise by Samanthe Beck

This is my first book by this author and I was pleased to make her acquaintance. Hard Compromise has an interesting twist from the beginning. Ethan meets Laurie when she is an impulsive teenager with too little parental guidance and too much time on her hands. Ethan steps in to save her from herself and becomes her guardian angel for the next 10 years. The thing that made me happy is that Ethan doesn't come off as creepy at all. There is no relationship between this couple until everybody is fully grown and ready to get down to business. I loved how Ethan waited the exact 10 years that he promised Laurie he would wait before showing up to claim her.

As for Laurie, she is the story of how having a hot mess for a parent can really mess up your whole life. Laurie is committed to not having a relationship because she has TRUST ISSUES. Her trust issues are the result of being abandoned by everybody who was supposed to take care of her. And don't get me started on Laurie's Mother. Laurie's mom missed the memo where she was supposed to take care of her daughter and not the other way around. Laurie can't resist the physical chemistry she has with Ethan but what she can definitely resist is Ethan's desire for a relationship. Even though Ethan and Laurie are pretty much inseparable from the point of their initial hook up, Laurie does everything she can to sabotage the union.

Speaking of Ethan, he is quintessential book boyfriend material. Ethan is strong and passionate. He is also super rich (never hurts) and a all around good guy. Oh did I mention he's fine as hell? Well yes that too. In reality....LOL, never mind, there are no guys like Ethan in reality. Anyway, moving on from whatever that thought was, just rest assured that you will fall in love for a few hours during this book. You will probably spend most of this book praying that Laurie can pull her issues together and learn to trust. I think you'll love Ethan's mom and the rest of the supporting characters and really enjoy this book.

P.S.-That scene at the wedding at the end of the book is something I would pull out a pistol and shoot someone for if they did at my wedding.

ARC Review: Emergency Engagement by Samanthe Beck

Emergency Engagement is the first book in the new Love Emergency series from Samanthe Beck. I really enjoyed this book and I liked the characters a lot. Each book in this series is a standalone, and I already can't wait for the next one. Samanthe Beck is a great writer and this is one of my favorites to date from her.

Savannah Smith goes from expecting a proposal from her boyfriend, to learning that he plans to propose to someone else. So when her hot neighbor shows up on her doorstep on Thanksgiving and they end up in an interesting situation, both of their families get the wrong impression and believe that the two of them are engaged to each other. Beau Montgomery has had enough pain to last him a lifetime, but when he sees the way his parents react to the thought of him being engaged he can't be the one to take away that happiness. So Beau asks Savannah to go along with the engagement until they can break things off and go their separate ways later. But as much as Beau would like to keep Savannah from getting under his skin, they both finds themselves falling for one another. Is their fake engagement destined to become a real one?

I really loved these two. They were so great together and I absolutely loved how everything turned out! Their connection was so much more than I expected, and I really loved that they had a past they didn't remember. They had amazing chemistry, and there was a ton of heat between them. Samanthe Beck always brings the steam, and Emergency Engagement was no different. I really loved how cute these two were together though, and I thought that they were perfect for one another. They were very different, and yet the worked so well.

Overall, this book was really cute and I enjoyed it a lot. Savannah and Beau were a lot of fun to read about, and I had a great time getting lost in their story. I already look forward to getting Beau's friend Hunter's story next, and I really want to get Savannah's sister Sinclair's story too. I loved all the characters here, and thought that this was a great start to Samanthe Beck's new series. This is one I would definitely recommend, and I think readers will really enjoy Savannah and Beau's book.

ARC Review: Compromising Her Position by Samanthe Beck

I have become quite a fan of Samanthe Beck's over the last few years. She always packs a ton of heat into her stories, and I can never get enough of the sexy times between her characters. Compromising Her Position was another example of just how good she is at that, and I loved the steam between these characters. One thing I will caution potential readers about before starting this book is that the opening of this book has a bit of a gray area when it comes to the sex between Rafe and Chelsea. While Chelsea thinks that she is having sex with the guy she is dating, Paul, it is actually Rafe instead. While this might be a problem for some, it was in the blurb for the book and the fact is that Rafe didn't know that she thought he was someone else until after they were through. So for me, this wasn't a deal breaker when it came to the story, but readers should know that before starting.

When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a closet at her company party, she thinks that she is with the man she has been dating for the last several months. Instead it is actual Rafe St. Sebastian the rich and handsome new CEO and owner for her company. Despite the heat between them and the amazing sex in the closet, Chelsea and Rafe know that they should avoid one another. The last thing Rafe needs while trying to convince his father that he is ready to take over is to get caught up in a potential scandal. But when Chelsea becomes an important part of their business plan, Rafe sets out to convince her to help him. But Rafe is hoping that he can also get her back into bed with him personally as well as professionally.

I liked these characters a lot. They were each really interesting characters to me and the heat between these two was so explosive! Right from the very start these two kicked things off with a bang, and the chemistry was everything I have come to expect from Samanthe Beck. She has a way of writing such steamy books, and Rafe and Chelsea's story was no exception. The one thing I thought could have been different though was the actual connection between them. When it came to the the physical it was so easy to see, but I felt like the reader needed to see a bit more of these two getting to really know one another. I wanted more interactions between these two that showed them growing closer besides just in a physical way. At times their relationship felt a bit rushed, and I think a lot of that was because we didn't see much actually develop on an emotional level.

Overall, this was a steamy story with some holiday fun thrown in and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Samanthe Beck's writing style is so easy to get lost in and I really like her voice. There are a few authors that are go-to authors for me when it comes to sexy books, and Samanthe Beck is at the top of that list. She never fails to bring the heat and she never disappoints. While this wasn't my favorite book from Samanthe Beck, I did really like it and I know I will read more from her in the future.

Feature and Giveaway: Compromising Her Position by Samanthe Beck

He's not who she expected, but he's exactly the man she needs…

When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a supply closet for a little office party nookie, she assumes the man in the suit is her on-again/off-again coworker boyfriend. Instead, it's Rafe St. Sebastian, a man known for his hard-driving ways in business as well as the bedroom--and, kill her now, the brand spanking new owner of Las Ventanas--who grants her naughtiest Christmas wishes.

So much for her reputation, not to mention her career.

Rafe needs to close three acquisitions to prove to his father he's ready to take the helm of St. Sebastian Enterprises. A hot interlude in a supply closet after deal number two seems like the perfect illicit Christmas bonus. Unfortunately, when that "bonus" becomes the key to the final deal, he finds himself back in bed--so to speak--with Chelsea, and after their steamy tryst, he's not interested in keeping things professional.

ARC Review: Best Man With Benefits by Samanthe Beck

I absolutely loved this book! Best Man With Benefits by Samanthe Beck was definitely my favorites in the Wedding Dare Series, even though I really loved them all. It was hot and sweet, and really had everything I look for in a good story. Sophie and Logan were amazing characters, and I felt invested in them right from the start. If you haven't read this series, I definitely would recommend these books because they are so good. Each one can be read as standalone stories, with all the characters interconnecting as they spend the week at Colt and Kady's wedding.

Logan McCade is the best man for his friend Colt's wedding and it is the first time in years that he has actually taken time away from his busy schedule at work. Running his own business is all he ever wanted, but it has left little time for anything else in his life. When Colt asks him to look after his younger sister, he has no idea that the girl he once knew has now grown into everything he has ever wanted in a woman. Soon his looking out for Sophie turns into a hands on job, and Logan is realizing that he wants Sophie despite the fact that she should be off limits to him as his best friend's little sister. The more time they spend together, the more each of them begins to hope for something beyond just the time together at the wedding. But what happens when Sophie finds out that their relationship started because of a favor to Colt?

I really liked Logan and Sophie. Sophie was pretty insecure and had such a vulnerable side to her. She was used to being picked on and didn't have a great self-image. I loved the fact that Logan was kind and patient with her, and he really made an effort to show her just how beautiful he thought that she was. He was so sweet with her, and I could not have loved him more for it. He allowed her to explore her desires, and made sure to encourage and support her always. Logan was sexy and athletic, and was used to running things in his life. But when it came to Sophie, he let her take control when she needed to and it didn't bother him at all. These two were such a perfect match for one another, and I loved their sweet moments just as much as the steamy ones!

Overall, I thought that this was a great story. This is by far one of my favorite tropes, and Samanthe Beck did a great job telling this story. It was the perfect balance of sexy and sweet, without being cheesy or over the top. This story was enjoyable from the very beginning, and I didn't want to put it down. While I have really loved this series and seeing all the characters, Logan and Sophie were my favorites and I couldn't get enough of them. I can't wait to read more from Samanthe Beck in the future.
