Romance Book Casting Call with Aislynn from Stitch-Read-Cook and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the celebration blogger Aislynn from Stich - Read - Cook. I am so happy to have Aislynn here today. She is made of awesome and I love her blog. She has a wonderful feature each week where different authors/bloggers share what it's like a day in their life.

I'm Aislynn!

I'm a 30 something book lover, born and raised on a small family farm. After living in the big city and finishing college, I returned to my hometown.

Hubby and I share our small apartment with our 3 loveable dogs in small town in Northern Ontario, not far from where I was raised.

By day I'm a mild mannered house designer, by night I'm a romance reader.. My book collection is filled with historical, paranormal, contemporary and everything in between.

Places to find Aislynn:

While each author has someone in mind when they create their characters and each reader conjures their own someone as they read. Here is who I envisioned for one of my all time favorite books:

Skye O’Malley by Bertrice Small

Characters:

Skye O’Malley
Older Skye I would pick Lucy Lawless (from Xena), I think she would be the perfect fit to the descriptions in the book.

For a younger Skye I would pick Kristin Kreuk, who played Lana Lang on Smallville.

Niall Burke
Ironically, I’d probably pick Colin Farrell to play Niall… He’s handsome, a bit arrogant and gotta love the accent!

Adam de Marisco
No matter where Skye has been or what has happened in her life – she can always rely on Adam. He is her rock.

For Adam, I think Kevin Sorbo (who played Hercules) would be a good fit.

Geoffrey Southwood
Known as the ‘Golden Earl’ he was a favorite of Queen Elizabeth’s. He was also married to Skye. I think that Colin Hauser is a good option, although he might have to lighten his hair a bit!

Khalid el Bay
When Skye ends up in Algiers, she is the slave of Khalid.. Dark and brooding I would pick Aamir Khan to play the man who holds Skye prisoner.

There has never been a woman like Skye O'Malley! Beautiful, wise, courageous, and intelligent; she becomes, through her own efforts, a woman of great wealth and power. She is brave enough to do battle with Queen Elizabeth I, and win! This is a novel of sensual delights; of a magnificent woman swept up in a timeless journey through the tantalizing joys and pleasures of tender romance, exquisite passion, and eternal love.

  6. I totally forgot about Kevin Sorbo from the Hercules series. I had the biggest crush on him when that show aired. You have my approval!

  7. Ah, I remember that Hercules movie. Saw it when I was younger---used to have a slight crush on the man. ;) Great picks there, I think there's only a few people that I've not seen before. I don't think I've ever read any of Small's books, though obviously I've seen them around and heard of them.

    Enjoy!

  17. Ooh I am now reminiscing about Hercules and Xena too. Colin Farrell definitely works for that description. I do not recognize the others, but I'll take it on faith.

  18. I definitely agree with Colin Farrell and Cole Hauser. Cole is not nearly as high profile as the others so I am glad to see him.
