Guest Post with Author Michelle Smart and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome author Michelle Smart to RFTC. Michelle is celebrating the recent release of her book Tempted by Trouble and has stopped by to share her favorite book boyfriend. Please give Michelle a warm welcome.

Michelle's love affair with books began as a baby when, according to her mum, she would throw her teddies out of the cot and cuddle with books instead. This love of all things wordy has never left her. A voracious reader, her tastes cross all genres. Her first experience with romance was as a child devouring copious amount of fairy tales. As her reading tastes evolved, she discovered something special--a book has the capacity to make her heart beat as if falling in love the first time.

When not reading or pretending to do the housework, Michelle loves nothing more than creating worlds of her own featuring handsome heroes and the sparkly, feisty women who refuse to take crap from them. She hopes her books can make her readers’ hearts beat a little faster, too.

My Favourite Book Boyfriend

I’ve spent the past fortnight trying to think of who I can nominate as my Favourite Book Boyfriend, all to no avail. It’s hopeless. Or so I thought until I started recalling the books of my childhood, and how I was never happy unless it featured a boy I could marry when we’d both grown up. And there was one special boy for me (okay I’m lying, there were loads, but this is the one who seems to have lodged in my feeble brain). That boy was Dick from Enid Blyton’s Famous Five. Despite having a name that used to crease my childhood self up, I adored him. Unlike his brother, Julian, who was a patronizing  misogynistic goody-two-shoes, Dick was fun. He was naughty, adventurous and witty, but he was also kind and held few of his brother’s sexist tendencies. If Anne needed help with the washing-up, then Dick was there. If one of them got into trouble, Dick would fearlessly come to their aid. All in all, he was perfect boyfriend material, because best of all, he didn’t mind playing with girls!

PS: I’ve spent the whole post resisting the obvious, but it has to be said: I love Dick!

Socialite Pippa Rowantree has always provided excellent fodder for the UK’s gossip rags. After another unfortunate scandal sends the gossips into a feeding frenzy, her shamed family retaliates by forcing her into hiding at old family friend Marco Capello’s lush Caribbean estate—literally the last place on earth she wants to be.

As far as Marco’s concerned, wild child Pippa has ruined his life once and he’ll be damned if he lets her do it again. But it’s hard to reconcile the adolescent he knew with the mature, beautiful woman who stands before him. Soon he's questioning if everything the media is claiming about PIppa is the truth or if he should trust his heart.

  9. I have a lot of book boyfriends, but some of my favorites include Conrad Flynn from Misty Evans Operation Sheba and Jack Travis from Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas. I tend to like the bad boys that are really good at heart. The ones that aren't afraid to get into trouble to make things right. :)

  10. This sounds like a great book. Gonna have to read and then might have to add as new book boyfriend. My top book boyfriends are Bones from Jeaniene Frosts Night Huntress series, Alcide from Sookie Stackhouse, Max Stella from Beautiful Stranger, and Jack Henry MacLachlan from Beauty from Pain by Georgia Cates. Tough choice between the 4 but I make it work. LOL.
