Romance is Bliss Event with Cindi Madsen

Meet Bliss author, Cindi Madsen.

Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. She is the author of YA novels All the Broken Pieces and Demons of the Sun, adult contemporary romances Falling for Her FiancĂ© and Act Like You love Me, and the women's fiction novel Cinderella Screwed Me Over.

Why I write romance

There’s something about watching two people fall in love between the pages of a book or onscreen, or even in real life, that I find incredibly addictive. I like the butterflies and romantic chemistry whenever two people who are meant to be are near each other. I like yelling at the characters in books or movies to “Kiss already!”

So, I decided to put my romance addiction to good use, and write stories filled with it. The idea behind my Accidentally in Love series was to have two people who don’t exactly want to be in love with each other, but find themselves falling anyway. Writing An Officer and a Rebel, the Christmas novella in the series coming out this month, was especially fun because I got to throw in all those fun holiday traditions, too. It’s a little different when you’re snowed in with someone, of course, but that can create an interesting dynamic, too.

Sometimes it’s hard not to get bogged down with all the real-word responsibilities, and that’s why I love that you can pick up a good romance book and be swept away for a while. And there’s nothing better than closing a book with a big smile on your face because those characters got their happily ever after ending. Everyone could use a little extra romance in their life, right? I know it certainly makes my days better.

STRANDED WITH A HERO is available November 11th at the following retailers:

Getting snowed in never felt so good as boundaries are crossed, opposites attract, and friends discovering more promise a Christmas no one will ever forget.

Loving Mindy by Karen Erickson

Mindy can’t believe she’s stuck with her ex–best friend—and the man whose heart she broke years ago—for the holidays, though the tension between them is more than enough to keep them warm. Josh Powers never forgot Mindy, but he can’t risk his heart a second time.

White-Hot Holiday by Coleen Kwan

Naomi’s sworn off men like Aaron—rich, cocky, and dismissive of holiday traditions. Aaron decided to spend Christmas in sunny Australia to avoid snowy New York, not to fall for the woman his best friend warned him away from. But when a volcano grounds him, Aaron and Naomi’s relationship becomes eruptive.

An Officer and a Rebel by Cindi Madsen

The last person police officer Nate Walsh expected to discover in a snowstorm is his brother’s ex and former town rebel, Kelsey Cooper. She’s his complete opposite and totally off-limits, but as they wait out the storm together, all he can think is how he wishes she’d stay forever.

Saving the Sheriff by Roxanne Snopek

Frankie Sylva was determined to free the captive reindeer, even if it meant risking her own life. Deputy Sheriff Red LeClair set out to save a stranger in a snowstorm, never expecting he’d be the one to be rescued.

    1. That's a hard one! I'd love all of them to be movies of course, but I think I'd go with Cinderella Screwed Me Over. I think it'd be really funny onscreen

  15. Cindi, do you prefer to author a book alone or in an anthology?

    1. This is the first time I wrote in an anthology--the first novella I've written too. I had a mini panic halfway through writing that I didn't know how, but once the final product was done, I loved it. And it's fun to have other talented ladies with a similar story all in one book. So I guess that's the long way of saying I really like both & hope I'll do another anthology someday :)
