Places to find Lila:
THE DUKE’S MATCH GIRL is the latest in the acclaimed Fiery Tales series.
I wanted to do something different. This time I’ve chosen a fairy tale to retell that hasn’t been done before.
I’ve taken the beloved tale by Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Match Girl, and give it a grown up feel. Made it romantic (and of course, spicy. It is call the Fiery Tales series for a reason. ;))
And I’ve given it a happy ending!
Second chance love stories are among my favorites story themes. And Leo, Duke of Mont-Marly, and Suzanne Matchet definitely deserve a second chance at first love!
THE DUKE’S MATCH GIRL is a historical romance novella. The scandalous kind. ;)
Leo has some making up to do for the heartbreak he caused Suzanne! And he’s going to go all out to win back the one and only woman he has ever loved—in the most creative, romantic and knee-weakening ways. *winks*
Check out Leo and Suzanne's love story in The Duke's Match Girl
From bestselling author Lila DiPasqua comes a scorching new historical romance novella in the acclaimed Fiery Tales series! An emotional, erotically charged retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl.
As childhood friends, Leopold d’Ermart and Suzanne Matchet were inseparable. One unforgettable Christmas Eve, their relationship changed from the best of friends…to lovers. But the heir of the Duke of Mont-Marly isn’t supposed to fall in love with the daughter of his family’s physician. Or vice versa.
Is this a second chance at first love?
Years later, Suzanne is dreading her first Christmas without her father. The heartbreak Leo caused when he left seven years ago is a distant memory. And she prefers to keep it that way. The last thing Suzanne expects is for tall, dark, and sinfully seductive Leo d’Ermart to show up at her door and announce he wants her back in his life. And in his bed. Worse, the now celebrated libertine is even more devastating to a woman’s senses than ever before…
Or are they playing with fire?
The only woman Leo, Duke of Mont-Marly, has ever yearned for is the adorably unconventional, intelligent beauty who got away. He discovers Suzanne creating and selling matchsticks, elixirs for the ill…and is still so damned alluring. Leo is determined to show her the depth of his desire, win back Suzanne’s heart. And give her a Christmas beyond her wildest imagination…
Warning: Explicit language and love scenes. 32,000 word novella.

Ha! That was the best letter Ever!!! Lila you crack me up! Now that's how to get us rampaging for Match Girl.
ReplyDeleteMy ideal Valentine's Day is to go somewhere nice. Either a whole day of fun and travels or just a very nice night under the stars somewhere not too cold or too hot. Somewhere fancy where I can dress up. Yeah, now that'll be nice.
How about you Lila, what do you or Mr. D have planned?
Glad you liked the letters! Hehehe :) I really like your ideal Valentine's Day! As for Mr. D and I, we're going to have a romantic dinner together....and afterwards....well, that's where my description stops. *winks*
DeleteI can tell you I like your version of fairy tales better than the originals! LOL Valentine's Day is not a big deal in my family. I'm happy with a nice card and flowers!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks so much for the lovely compliment, Karen! *muah* :) And a sweet card and flowers sounds wonderful. Hugs!
DeleteI really enjoyed the novella a lot!
ReplyDeleteThis year, we'll probably be snowed in for Valentine's Day--we made reservations on Sat as a safeguard. An ideal Valentine's Day would be going somewhere alone for the weekend--but it's hard with kids. Not everyone who could stay with them would be willing to shuttle them to sports.
I'm so delighted you enjoyed THE DUKE'S MATCH GIRL! :) We had 3 kids in under 4 years. I totally get how hard it can be to get away. I hope you get your ideal Valentine's Day! (Even if you have to celebrate it on a different day/weekend.) :) Hugs!
DeleteI like your heroine's response. Valentine's Day is a family day for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kim! And I love your ideal Valentine's Day. :)
DeleteI'm so glad Lila was spotlighted today! It was a reminder that I needed to buy The Duke's Match Girl...and I did! :)
ReplyDeleteMy ideal Valentine's Day would be for my husband and I to go away to a B&B in the Texas hill country. I really want to stay at the Grape Creek Winery B&B. The idea of no kids, no cleaning & a quiet place to enjoy a bottle of wine sounds like perfection! Unfortunately, hubs has to work, so this won't be happening. Instead, I'm going to enjoy a movie & pizza night with my kiddos. Planning on making them some Valentine's shakes as a surprise treat.
Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy your time with Leo and Suzanne. :) I'm so glad you stopped by to chat with me about your Valentine's Day. Hugs!
DeleteWatching a movie cuddled next to a fire.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely is that!! :)

DeleteI loved these letters, Lily! I can't wait to read this novella. It sounds like just the right thing to read during this horribly cold and snowy (and icy) winter! As for Valentine's Day...it's a quiet day with the family...probably a fire in the fireplace, some snacks, and watching tv.
ReplyDeleteI like a nice dinner out - one where he is willing to wait for a table lol.

ReplyDeleteMy ideal Valentine's Day is pretty simple. I love it when my husband is allowed time off work and I don't really care if we spend it just relaxing together or doing something out.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
A day of reading.
ReplyDeleteWell, if I was about thirty years younger, I would love to spend the day with Henry Cavill.

trip to Paris
ReplyDeleteJust time spent with a loved one. It doesn't have to be fancy. Gifts not required.
ReplyDeletespending time with the family. thanks for the giveaway:)
ReplyDeleteI love the excerpted letters from Leo and Suzanne! This sounds like a wild story and I can't wait to read it. To me, a perfect Valentine's Day would be a meal out ('cause I cook our evening meals all the time) and curling up at home with a romantic movie...with a yummy dessert of some kind. And after my hubby goes to bed (he's an early-to-bed buy) I can dig into a really steamy romance book I've loaded onto my eReader. Maybe that's tame, but it sounds so good to me! jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteAll I want from my ideal Valentine's Day is lots of quality time with my husband.
ReplyDeleteMy ideal Valentine's Day would be a "lost day" with a lover!

ReplyDeletePicnic in front of the fire with music playing in the background. Then talking with my husband of 36 years about our lives together and future plans.
