Guest Post with Author Cassandra Giovanni and Giveaway

Cassandra doesn't remember a time when she wasn't writing. In fact, the first time she was published was when she was seven years old and won a contest to be published in an American Girl Doll novel. Since then Cassandra has written more novels than she can count and put just as many in the circular bin. Her personal goal with her writing is to show the reader the character's stories through their dialogue and actions instead of just telling the reader what is happening. In 2012 she became a published Young Adult author, releasing In Between Seasons (The Fall, #1) and the Amazon bestselling thriller, Walking in the Shadows. In 2013 she branched out by using her artistic illustrating talents to publish her first Children's novel, The Adventures of Skippy Von Flippy: Tales of Friendship (Skippy Tales, #1). Cassandra released her first New Adult novel, Love Exactly, which became an Amazon Bestseller overnight in June of 2013. She's currently working on her new New Adult Contemporary Romance, Beautifully Flawed. The first novel in the series, Flawed Perfection is scheduled to be published on March 7, 2014.

Besides being a writer, Cassandra is a professional photographer known for her automotive, nature and architectural shots. She is the owner of Gio Design Studios Photography and Gio Design Studios Publication Marketing . She is currently studying to receive a degree in Marketing. Cassandra is happily married to the man of her dreams and they live in the rolling hills of New England with the other loves of her life their dogs, Bubski and Kanga.

As an author this is something I dream about over and over again. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that one of my novels could have the potential to be a movie. I know that Flawed Perfection and the Beautifully Flawed series would make an amazing movie or TV series but that may never happen. A girl can dream, right?

As I think about who would play each of the characters, I think of the impressions I have of those actors. These impressions are mostly from photographs, because as a photographer I feel you can see a person’s soul through a picture. This sometimes makes it tough when on the exterior you see someone who would be fabulous as your character, but then you see something in a photograph that makes you feel they might not really be that character.

For Adam I physically see Max Irons, but the second I saw him with a cigarette in a picture I was completely turned off. He didn’t feel like Adam anymore, but the more I looked at the pictures I had chosen of him (without the cig), and his acting as Jared in the Host, the more I was able to give in to the fact he was my Adam. I must say that his disgusting cigarette did inspire a scene yet to be seen in Broken Perfection of a different character (who I chose Ryan Gosling to play). So, I guess I can say—thanks Max!

For Bobby I always saw Chris Hemsworth. His bulkiness in Thor was Bobby to the max, along with those killer blue eyes and playful smile. There was absolutely no question there; Bobby is Chris all the way!

I had a little, well, a lot more trouble with the girl characters. I wasn’t really sure who I saw as River or Tara. There was one thing needed River had to be stick thin and Tara curvy and sassy. Honestly, I don’t watch a ton of TV or movies, so I’m not really in on actors and actresses. Eventually, I settled on Anna Kendrick for River because of her smile and thin frame, and Briga Heelan for Tara. Briga ended up being an easy and perfect choice for Tara. She has this sassy smile, great laugh and she is gorgeously curvy!

As for River and Adam’s parents—I haven’t figured out the moms yet, but I did figure out the dads. Alec, Adam and Bobby’s dad, would be played by Daniel Craig. He also has those killer blue eyes, and his air in the pictures I saw of him is definitely Alec. As for River’s dad, Tim, I picture Chris Potter. For some reason Chris Potter reminds me of my dad, so I see him as River’s. He’s quite handsome, and his easy smile and soft expressions show him as the kind of person I see Tim being.

Bobby Beckerson was the American All-Star hockey player--he was the spitting image of perfection to his family. Goofy, sweet and undeniably gorgeous, he had everything but the one girl he wanted: River Ahlers.

River Ahlers is successful in everything but love. She's been in love with Adam Beckerson since they were kids. Worst of all she's stuck right in the middle of the brother's dueling over everything and anything, and she doesn't even know she's the ultimate prize.

Adam Beckerson was a boy with a guitar, a smile that sunk girl's hearts and a stone wall around his own. He was anything but perfect, and no matter how hard he tried he was nothing compared to Bobby. Sweet, damaged, with boyish good-looks, nobody thought Adam loved anyone but himself.

Bobby loved River, River loved Adam and Adam only loved himself--or so everyone thought. Then one night everything changes, and as it threatens to destroy everyone involved a tragedy strikes that will break them all...
